Am I the only one? Well, it is after spring break and after Easter, so maybe it's a light voyage? Would love to meet ya'll.

We'll be joining you. Just the two of us and we're really looking forward to the trip. We've cruised before, but not DCL. I'm impressed that you're coming all the way from San Diego to do this cruise. Will you be staying at WDW, too?

Yes, we're doing the 3 night land/4 night sea package. We're reserved at the Polynesian. We've never been to WDW (well, okay I was like 10 yrs old, but I don't remember!) It'll be me, DH,DD4 and DD2. This will be our 2nd Disney cruise... we went on the 7 night western caribbean cruise back in 2003 with our then only daughter (18 mo.) along with grandma, grandpa, sister and nephew. In 2000, me and DH went on the Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas and did the western caribbean. I love cruises... my DH would rather go explore an entire island for a week. BUT, somehow we keep taking them. :cool1:

What cruise line did you go on before? You'll love DCL. We absolutely loved the Royal Caribbean, but now that we have kids, DCL is a must! It's just the little things.... tubs in the rooms, bigger rooms, kid's club that almost takes up an entire deck, the Disney characters, and oh, Castaway Cay is just over the top! Are you guys Disney fans? What made you chose DCL?

Yep, we're coming from sunny San Diego. We'd fly anywhere to get that beautiful tourquoise water found in the Bahamas, Caribbean. My fav! The Pacific Ocean is the same whether you're in San Diego or Hawaii or anywhere in between (okay, temp. may vary)... maybe it's cuz we live near the ocean here.... I say, 'ya, looks like home'. There's just something that gets me everytime I see that caribbean water..... so clear and warm... like you're in a fish tank! Never that way in the Pacific.

We're looking forward to the cruise and the WDW portion. Glad there's another DISer onboard. Thanks for checking in!

Our last and only other cruise was last February for a 7 night western Carib. with Celebrity. We are dyed in the wool Dis'ers and spend 3-4 weeks there every year. On our other cruise the Magic tied up next to us in Cozumel. Mickey waved at us and I'm sure wanted to know why we weren't sailing with him as we both had on Mickey Mouse Club tee shirts; and about that same time we wondered why we weren't sailing with him, too. So this time we will!

Our last visit to WDW was last month and we stayed at the Polynesian. We got upgraded, don't ask me why or how, to concierge and absolutely loved it the hotel, the grounds, the pools and the restaurants! You will, too.

After the April-May cruise we'll check in at Shades of Green for 6 nights with a group of friends. We can't go to Florida and not go to WDW.

I'll bet your little ones will have a ball.

8 months and 10 days to wait.

Bump...there must be someone else out there going with us.

Hi, There

I was surprised and delighted to find someone had already started a thread for this cruise!

We are DISboard addicts and four time DCL cruisers (3 on Wonder, 1 on Magic) and will also be on the Feb 04 06 Magic Eastern. This Wonder cruise will be our 6th (we are so lucky!) My new husband (and kids' stepdad) and I have only taken the kids along on a DCL cruise once, but I am surprising the whole family (husband included) this Christmas with a present of this Wonder cruise in April (even though I will have to take the kids DD 13 and DS 10 out of school for four days). There was just no other time to go, and no way we could afford high season rates. We kept promising the kids we'd take them again, so now we can follow through. I just lost my mother to cancer, and feel so grateful we got to take my mom and dad and the kids on a Disney Cruise when she was still feeling well. I guess I feel like I shouldn't put off any chances to have a great family vacation. (I picked up an extra work assignment so I could treat everyone to this trip.) What a wonderful big surprise I now have to sit on until December 25!

That's enough about us for now...more to follow! We are very happy to meet you all.

It's great to know that at least three cabins are going to be occupied for our cruise! LOL. I'm very sorry to hear about your mother; my brother is fighting cancer right now and not doing too well.

We've cruised before also, but not on DCL. We are, however, Disney people and are really looking forward to the curise. I count about 198 days left to wait. Cheers! it's under 200 now.

OK so what I see happening is that if there are only three cabins reserved we'll all get great upgrades!

Hi, All

Just returned from my husband's "Surprise" birthday trip to the Magic Kingdom and a close encounter with Wilma. I was very impressed by how Disney handled things...Monday morning it was announced on local stations that all Disney and Universal theme parks were closed, but the night before all resort guests got letters hanging on their doors saying that Disney was going to try and open the parks just to resort guests as soon as they could.

Wilma was blowing everything around and it was raining sideways for a couple of hours Monday morning. My husband and I laughed ourselves silly trying to dash between buildings at the Caribbean Beach resort (where we were staying) to get to the food court. Disney had an unscheduled character appearance in the food court to appease all the sad kids (and adults) who were stuck inside. They also hauled out a card table and had some of the maids who couldn't clean the occupied rooms doing towel folding demos. By around 1 pm, we had a phone message telling us Magic Kingdom and Epcot were opening and would stay open until midnight. (Animal Kingdom and MGM stayed closed all day). We were lucky because we never lost power and were barely inconvenienced (unlike our less fortunate neighbors to the south who definitely did NOT spend the rest of their Monday enjoying sunshine, cool air, and lightly populated theme parks!) We thought Disney did a great job with communication to us what was going on and planning (Sunday night we saw literal fleets of power and tree cutting/repair trucks piling in to Epcot's parking lot bracing for the storm).

We had actually just checked out of Animal Kingdom Lodge and were enroute to the airport on Sept. 11 after the terrorist attacks. Luckily, we figured pretty quickly we weren't going to be flying anywhere. We checked into Dixie Landings and though we paid for that night, we were comped the next three nights because our flights got perpetually cancelled (we ended up driving the rental car home). Disney also waived its .75 fee per call from the resort room phones. Granted, most of their guests that were supposed to be checking in right after 9-11 didn't make it there to check in unless they were driving, so there were plenty of available rooms, but I still thought it was very decent of them to not charge us anything for those nights.

Saw some pictures of the damage Wilma did to the cruise ship pier at Cozumel where we were last year on Magic...it's trashed. I also read on the boards that Castaway Cay took a bit of a hit-that the nets ripped at the family beach so all visitors were packed onto the teen and adult beaches and that the nets were also damaged or displaced at the new stingray swim area and all the rays broke for freedom! I am glad our next cruise is in February-hopefully things will be back in order. I also read the jumbotron screen on Magic after drydock is fabulous, and that after the Pirates in the Caribbean party they show the Pirates of the Caribbean movie outside on the deck. What fun! When's Wonder going to get its "dive in movie" theatre?

Bye!

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving, We're just back from two weeks in California to be part of my DD's wedding; just beautiful! And now I have time to concentrate on the 4/30/06 cruise!

As far as I can see, we're still just tow or three contributing to this thread. There must be more out there????? Its almost time to start obsessing about spa and Palo reservations. I can't wait.

Let's try and keep this thread open and going so I don't have to go looking for it again. LOL

Us too!! We are celebrating our honeymoon on the Wonder April 30. First time cruise for both of us (but not first time marriage for either! ha ha). I am a disney lover, my darling fiance (DF?) loves to see me smile, so even enthusiastically agreed to have Disney stamps on our wedding invitations. I cannot wait! We are going snorkeling in the keys for a week or so, then boarding the Wonder (wedding date is april 21). We both live in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Hope to meet you all!! (y'all). Neither of us grew up in the south, but love it.

Is there a pirate night on the 4 night cruise? I have seen DF in a tie ONCE during our 21 month courtship, so am also curious about just how un-dressed up he can stay for dinners. We are in the second dinner seating.

Any other advice? We're not shy and I also want to do a door decoration celebrating our marriage --

Nancy & Mike

When I got your PM, I wondered if you were going to be young newlyweds or newlyweds with some previous experience. Glad to hear that you match us! I couldn't avoid the Disney and Muppett stamps for our Christmas cards this year, too funny that they went on your wedding invites!

This cruise meet thread has been a lonely place for a while.

Let's keep it going and hope some of our fellow passengers will find us. I do hope we can meet up at least for a drink at sail away.

Yes, meeting up at sail away sounds awesome! Someone who knows more than I will have to tell me how we'll recognize each other!!

Mike & I both have grown kids -- barely (21, 21 and 18). My second marriage, his third. Never say never!!

The stamps I got for the wedding invitations are not muppets, but Ariel and three others I forget. They're the 'celebration' set. We are also using Disney font on the wedding invitations and announcements!!!

I'm back from a week at WDW. It was not very crowded and the weather was OK, not wonderful, but OK.
I'm so glad that our cruise will be in April. I wanna go when and where it's warm.

My wife Doris, myself and 4 year old son Noah will be joining you all on our first cruise - along with my parents. I finally figured out how to "navigate" to this page, so now I will have to add it to my favorites! We look forward to hearing from you and planning our new adventure!

Happy Chriatmas and holiday season to all!

Matthew

Hi, Matthew

You are in for a real treat, as is your whole family. Welcome to the boards! You'll probably see a marked increase in message traffic the closer people get to having to ante up the final payment. That's when things really start becoming Oh So Real!

Glad to have you "Aboard".

Welcome Oliverweagle and family. More activity on the thread is good news to me. This is only our second cruise, so our excitment level is really high. Just a little over 4 months to go.

Have a happy holiday season, everyone.
