I apologize if this is clear to everyone but me but BibbidyBobbidyBoo, are you taking responsibility for updating the first page of the thread and working with the DISboards when we are ready to close this thread and start a new one?
Maybe one thing we could have on the first page is a list of DISboard activities we would like to share on this cruise and note if an organizer has volunteered yet, and a backup. I apologize if I missed anything or have any of them wrong or incomplete, but here is what I remember reading about:

Update White Board

Welcome Aboard Meet & Greet

I would be happy to put the board on our door - 6113 - I am around the corner from the AFT elevators so since most have to come aft for many things it would be easy to get to for most I think.

Also I would be happy to be in charge of the silicone bracelets. I have done it for 4 cruises so far so I have a system down for it!

Took your name off of the Roll Call and Champagne Girls - did I do that right? Val

That is fine - Brooklyn set up the roll call, and I added to it

Champaigne girls I just set up the spread sheet.

So much going on - I am even getting confused!

Great!!' I'll post an updated list tomorrow evening. Val

Where on Facebook Disboard page do I find the discussion about this cruise?

We would be willing t contribute to the cost of the lanyards and the name tags. If you need any help let me know

Okay, we have booked two rooms, Category 5B....At this time we are only booked as Guaranteed so, please cross your fingers we will get joining/shared rooms as requested.

Please count both families, Davis (5) and Bewley (2) in on the lanyards!!!!

Would love to do a early charter but can it pick up at Non Disney hotels such as the Candy Cane Inn. I am not sure we will stay on property this time. I do not want to give up 48 points for 2 nights for a studio even if I can get in one. We have a small contract and this is a lot of points for us. If we do stay it will be one night at Candy Cane and one night on property. Anyone stay there? I do not recomend Prime Time. Super Shuttle was on time to take us back to the hotel too.

I stayed at Candy Cane Inn in December 2010; convenient to DL and dining (California Pizza Kitchen, P F Changs, Cheesecake Factory, Roy's Hawaiian) - all about 1-2 blocks away (and next to each other). The hotel has a shuttle that drops off / picks up at DL Main Gate. Rooms are clean and the property is quiet, despite being a motor court set-up (parking in the middle of a u-shaped building. I didn't eat breakfast, as Super Shuttle arrived early while I was waiting to check out - I just handled in my key and told them to send me the invoice.

Weird unable to edit posts: oh well

Hawaiian Shirts are a definite match for the Grass Skirts , there is also a T available and other stuff on a Cafe Press site, no profit made but may change that to donate a $1 per item to a Charity that I will be riding for i.e. MS or American Cancer Society

On the special 5 night September cruise in 2008 there were also some Coconut Bra Sorority items made for the women. Here is the link to those:

Ok, I stayed at Candy Cane Inn in December, but have booked myself into the Anabella Hotel around the corner/down the street. Not as close to the restaurants - about an extra 2 blocks, but the price is so much better. I have stayed here for a nursing conference (in 2003) and again with my sister/nieces in 2006.

I booked 3 different rooms, not knowing if I'd find a roommate for the hotel. Used AAA/CAA 10% rate (the 20% rate ended up higher). Nighly room rate, Without tax, for 2 people: A queen room $98.10, a queen + queen $107.10 and a king + double $125.10. Also, for 2A, 3K you can get the family suite of king + bunks (in a separate sleeping area).

These rates stay the same from the April 22-29 (that's as far back as I checked).

I cannot think of anything about the Candy Cane Inn that would make it worth double the cost over the Anabella.

Just thought I'd check in I have gotten pm's from several people reguarding the FE's I will respond but I have been working a lot the last few weeks and also trying to get all packed and ready for the upcoming repo and alaskan cruise. I will be catching up as soon as I return

OK.....so hearing that Ken & Shari have not been able to book this cruise, I guess that Jason and I WILL throw our hat in the ring to organize the lanyards. Like I said, that will not happen until after we return from the Alaska trip....but if you want to put a placeholder on post one (or wherever we are trying to centrally locate any info about this trip) that says that I am organizing lanyards and that official announcements will come out in early summer, then go for it!! I will likely do it just like I did on the WBTA....I'll create an email address to which people can register for their lanyards and then I'll create a google spreadsheet that people can view (but probably not edit---in order to keep goofs and mistakes to a minimum) with people's names and stateroom #'s. I will also make a post once I get back inviting people to volunteer to join the lanyard team and help contribute towards the cost of the lanyards and name badges. So keep an eye open for those posts in late May/early June.
Thank you for agreeing to do this. I'll be happy to contribute to the cost too. :yay:

Thanks again for volunteering to coordinate the FE. Look forward to hearing all about sailing to Alaska and getting an insight into the cruise.

Hello All!

My name is Ann and DH, DS (3 next year) and I are booked on this cruise! We haven't even taken our first cruise with Disney yet but are doing so on 6/21/11 to Alaska. I just went to Maui on a company trip in February and LOVED it! I can't wait for this trip and sharing it with so many people!

DH--Meerkat504--and I would love to join the FE exchange. Should I PM threebrits to put my name on the list?

Looking forward to getting to know people before we board. Aloha!:flower3::flower3::flower3::flower3::wave2:;)

Hello Mr and Mrs. Meerkat!!!

I am so excited that y'all will be on this cruise!!! I haven't seen my old friend Mr. Meerkat in a few years and look forward to meeting the little Meerkat!!

I hope y'all end up loving DCL as much as Ed and I and all of our children and grandkids do!!!

The best advice is to be prepared to book a few more trips while you are onboard your Alaskan cruise to take advantage of the 10% rebooking discount and onboard stateroom credit!

Welcome aboard!!!! :yay:

Hi all! Can anyone tell me what kind of weather we are in for?
For those who don't know, I live in Australia, It's always pretty warm here so I'm not used to the cold at all.
We have been to LA during April / May before and it has been nice during the day and out right freezing at night. Is this the norm?
Will it warm up as we get closer to Hawaii?
Does anyone have any experience with the seas at this time of year? Will we likely have rough seas?
Sorry for all the questions, need to start planning the wardrobe, ya know? LOL!

Yup, that would be normal!

Lynne, I only paid $99 a night for CCI in January. It's worth it for me because with an ecv, I don't need to cross the street to get to DL.
