Our bags are packed and we are almost ready to go. Well tomorrow anyway. 1.50pm flight to Barcelona. Have had to cut down 22kg between us on what I took last years WBTA and it has been very very hard. Ah well I will get over it I suppose.

I am just panicking about a bag or two not arriving in Barcelona with us. Roll on Saturday when we are onboard the Magic and I can stop worrying about everything.

Corinna: there is no longer a Pirate Night Menu or activity in the diningroom so if that is what your DH wants to avoid he can still eat in the diningroom. In Alaska we got Mickey Pirate bandanas at dinner and there was a deck party but we did not go since there were no fireworks and we were not in the Caribbean. I have sent DCL a message suggesting they revamp the show to become more ocean-appropriate.


Perhaps the "DIS name-given name" list can go in our google document. Is that private or can anyone see it?

I was under the impression that they only did it differently during the Alaskan cruises. I know that a Taste of Alaska Menu replaced the normal Pirate Night menu. I would be a little disappointed as I just put together a new pirate costume. Still, on the other hand, if the pirate menu had been replaced with the Mexicali menu that we had on the Panama Canal cruise, this would be welcome.

Jackie...I was guilty of putting my last name on the Dis because I wasn't thinking and thought it was Facebook...I agree...it isn;t a good idea as everyone has access to the DisBoards, whereas our Facebook group is a closed group.

I sent some PM's today to people I saw that had quoted Jan's list, I hope none of them are offended by my PM...just trying to help protect people's identities.

I am travelling with my DH, but in many ways I might as well travel solo. We have very different approaches to cruising. I like to do loads of different activities and he likes to hang out in the gym, by the adult pool, in the big portholes on deck 3 forward or on deck 4. I often don't see him from 8 AM to 8 PM. So far the one point where we tend to meet up is for dinner,

I am travelling with my DH and DS, and I often think I am cruising alone, too. We take turns staying with Patrick during the day, and we do eat together, but he and Patrick go to bed early, and I stay up late. I like to do activities, but all my DH likes to do is walk the ship!


We also go to the nightclubs for a little while after dinner, together.

It has worked out for us for 18 cruises, so I guess we'll keep on!

Thanks Alan for the heads up on SW. We will be flying out of Orlando to LA. I was hoping they would open sooner. I like to have things planned way ahead of time but I guess I will have to be patient. SW has always been very helping providing my husband who has leg problems with a wheel chair through the airport. He is 6'3 and is able to get the bulkhead most of the time because he has more leg room there.

We are hoping to take Virgin America Orlando to San Francisco, then the train to LA, cruise and fly back to Orlando. They haven't opened up May yet, but I think I will phone them tomorrow because our son Patrick needs to be near the front because he doesn't walk well on the plane.

To clarify what I said about Pirate Night on the Alaska cruises:

Alaska did not permit fireworks from the ship. Pirate night was still held. But it was billed as Pirates in the Caribbean so we did not go since we were in the Pacific. And the view of the "show" is so limited. And we were tired.

Some people dressed in costume but we did not since we had to pay for our luggage as we flew Delta (through DCL arrangements) instead of Southwest (which we use when we make our own air arrangements) where our little bag friends can fly free so costumes are cheaper to bring.

So, Pirate Night is still a go.
But they have apparently dispensed with the Pirate menu.
Pirate Night in Mexico probably still has fireworks.
I suspect that Pirate Night on the Hawaii cruise will have fireworks.
I HOPE that they change the WONDER's Pirate nights to PIRATES IN THE PACIFIC and adjust the show accordingly, so I have send messages to DCL to that effect.

I hope that clarifies the situation.

People have said that they wanted the list on Facebook because they felt it was a safer site. I did not realize that.

1.) We have a Google spreadsheet. Is that a secure site? Should we put the full list there? People can edit their own entries there just like they can on the Facebook list.

2.) We already have a list on the Google Spreadsheet with staterooms, names, DIS names, etc. So is this list redundant?

3.) We could have the list posted here on the thread every 10 pages or so with DIS names and first names only.

4.) We could leave it on Facebook only.

What does everyone prefer?

This is NOT the Fish Extender list. It is a list that was started by AuntLynne (who is no longer cruising with us) in the Facebook group with each person adding his or her own name and DIS name. I got involved when a few people could not get it to let them add themselves but posted it in the thread so I added it for them. Someone thought it would be a good idea to export it here and assumed I was in charge on Facebook so asked me to keep it going here.

People feel that the last name gives a lot of information to people who might have bad ideas. So we have pulled the list from all the posts I think.

I still have the list in a WORD document sitting in my computer awaiting a concensus about what to do.

Fish Extender is one of the pages on our Google Document. I do not understand Google Documents. Someone started it. There are several tabs. One for FE, one for Champagne Girls, one for info about everyone. As I recall--DIS names and real names are on there already.

That all makes me think this DIS = Real Name list is redundant.

Link to Google spreadsheet is on first page. I know it says "Sign up for roll call and champagne girls party", but has all kinds of lists, from FE, to champagne girls party...etc....you need to scroll down to see different tabs.

Not everyone is on Facebook so I think the list should be here minus the last names. If everyone checks the list on page one and sees if their info is correct I think it would help Jan a lot.
