Hi Jon :wave2:

Does Candida know about this cruise yet?

Janice

Hi Janice,

Not yet, I almost let it slip when we were with friends in Knoxville.:rolleyes1 Working on the surprise for the Christmas reveal, that is going to take some careful planning.

Jon

Hi Everyone,

Well, it was soooo hard to do, but I just cancelled our GTY 9A room! It will be a great room for someone.

One of my DD's is a junior this year, and after talking with her teachers, they feel it would just be way too hard on her to miss 18 days of school (we have to travel from a remote location in Europe). Also, she attends a Department of Defense school and they are trying to pass some kind of rule that if your child misses more than 13 days, they will fail that whole quarter.

So on a positive note, due to a holiday and a couple of teacher work days in November, we're going to spend 10 days at Disney World. Also in place of this cruise, I booked a 7 day Caribbean cruise during spring break.

Please remove me from the Champagne Girls event and I hope everyone has an awesome cruise! Do a litlle hula for me!

We were thinking about upgrading from 11 to 9, but it's about a $2000 difference! I'm betting we could do a lot of excursions for that much money. Oh, and drinks, too. :woohoo:

This was my plan, but it was about $2500 for the 4 of us.. I decided that we won't be in our cabin and extra $2500 worth of the time!

we've been away from the Disboards fora while because we've been in the middle of selling our house in Hunters Creek, and moving to The Villages. Now we are established in a rental home until our new house is built.

So we are all excited about a new home! This house will have a lake (small pond?) behind it instead of conservation area. It will be a nice change. I hope we can start building at the end of this month or the beginning of October.
So much fun, and so scary!

we always bring our Rocket blender....supposedly for Chuck to make his "healthful" smoothies with his fiber and flax and all, but it usually gets used for blended drinks.....get a couple bananas, some OJ and cranberry juice, mix wiith vodka.....voila! great drinks!

Yesterday, Bob got me a slushie express, a small blender, to bring. Will start looking for those pineapple margarita recipes!!! He also came home with 10 3ft blowup bananas. He is such a party animal.

As we get closer to April, let me know if I can get you any info on activities in or about San Francisco. There are a lot of 1/2 off opportunities available a few weeks before a specific date; touring and theater events. April is also a lovely time to visit the wine country, an hour from the city. If you son is not available to take you around during the day, maybe we can be of help.

Val & Bob

Thank you! I am sure he won't be available very much, since he will be a new hire, we'll be lucky to see him very muchy. I will check out what we want to do and let you know! Great! Connie

Good luck with the build, Connie.

I've been watching to upgrade as well...but I think because we booked the first day or two our price is much lower than what they are now...

I am sorry that you won't be able to join us, but hope that you will have a wonderful time at WDW and on your cruise.

That very well could be.. Maybe there will be something magical happen and we can get a "free" upgrade!.. Not planning on it, but would be nice!:rolleyes1

So many of you are keeping track of available rooms..much more than my TA has been able to. If you ever see a handicap accessible veranda room become available would you please e-mail me at jnccreel@comcast.net asap.
We really are hoping to change rooms before cruise. They did not have any left the first day when us less frequent cruisers could book so they gave me a family size room to accommodate chair but it cost MORE.
Thanks I would really appreciate it. I get on here at least 4 times a day, but being on the west coast it is often long after the "cabin watchers" have posted. But e-mail is sitting open in kitchen 24/7.

The only time we have ever received an "upgrade" was on the Dream. We had booked one of the virtual porthole cabins, and got a so-called "upgrade" to an ocean-view one. If you look at the cost of the cabins on the Dream, the ocean-view cabins are actually cheaper than the virtual porthole ones. We let it go since we figured the cabin might have gone to a family w/actual children (as opposed to us age-challenged kids :rotfl:). I highly doubt we will be that lucky this time. (We did get to see one of the virtual portholes in action...it was pretty darn cool.)

We were upgraded on our Bahama's cruise last September. We booked a standard inside state room, and ended up with a deluxe outside. Or whatever they call the staterooms with a porthole and the split bath. I don't see this one being that way. The Wonder sailed to the Bahama's non stop, but, is, for now anyway, only sailing once to Hawaii...

Someone made this comment on the Hawaii facebook page today - "Don't know if it'll help us or not, but there's a show tonight on travel channel...Hawaii travel do and don'ts."

Thought I would post it in case someone is interested, if anyone comes on today. ;) I think this is the first time since we started this page that I have gotten on and there were no new comments since yesterday, especially since I am hours behind most of you.:) Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend.

Thanks for the heads-up on the show.

And, yeah, I can't believe how slow the board is today. I must be the only one without something big going on this weekend. Got a household full though...all DDs and DGDs are here.

There's a 5b available right now if anyone is interested. I always hate working the holiday weekends. I feel like the rest of the world is having fun without me.
