Hey now.. Someone needs to give me a little love for my Jayhawks.. I feel all sad and lonely!.. I need some ... And hopefully after Saturday all you Hawk haters (jk) will need a :grouphug:!

In all fairness, I really think this game can go either way. Overall it should be a great one. Win, which the the Bucks will do I hope, or lose getting to the Final Four is such a great achievement and I am proud of the team. Oh Dale this is for you. I O.

At the risk of providing too much information, here's a well researched link:
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/...c.ca/publicat/ccdr-rmtc/96vol22/dr2213ea.html

If you don't feel like reading it all, it appears that the order of effectiveness (from least to most) for the drugs most people talk about is:

Gravol
Bonine
Transderm V (aka "the patch")

To make things more complicated, Bonine is no longer available in Canada. Transderm V is available over the counter in Canada while requiring a prescription in the US (go figure).

For those who want to go drug free, there's always Sea Bands or ginger tablets as others have mentioned.

Also note the everyone responds differently so you may want to have more than one option if you're prone. I'm personally hoping for glass smooth waters! :)

Nice site. Good info as well. Thank you for that. But, like you, we too are hoping for calm water.....and don't forget, heavy doses of SUNSHINE! :worship::rotfl:

Not making anything with THAT stitch at least not right now! I made a swatch of it in a checkerboard pattern and got so frustrated with it I put it away. Currently making reversible baby afghans that are just doubles and chains.

Paper craft is my first love. I actually finished my FE gifts and decided to share them with you

Pretty afghan!! Would you share the pattern ?

Pretty FE packages! You have surprises inside I guess. Very clever!

Yes, because we then fly from Chicago to Springfield, MO which is only an hour drive from our house. St. Louis is almost 3.

::yes:: But I thought you could fly from LA to StL to Springfield. :rotfl:

silly me.......:lmao:

Southwest Airlines just sent me an email saying, "your trip is just around the corner." YES it is!!! It made me very happy and excited to see it in an email. I'm flying into SNA, Orange County airport, on Southwest out of Philly on Sat 28th. We're getting picked up in a sedan by a local car service at 3am. Our flight out is at 6:30am. We should arrive in LA at noon-ish. We'll get to the Doubletree by 1pm and check in isn't until 4pm. But we'll pack a bathing suit in our carry on bag and sit by the pool. OR take the shuttle into town and pick up some alcohol and candy until our room is ready. I'm getting more excited everyday.

That's all you get:rotfl2: I will say this, though - you do not need to destroy the packaging to get at the contents.

Oh good to hear about not destroying it. I see a part of it in my scrapbook. ;)

I received an e-mail from Tess, AKA Disneycruiser83, that she has not received her package of shirts, in Tampa Florida. The tracking info states they were delivered on 3-14-12. I have called the USPS and they are putting a trace on the package and were suppose to call be back yesteday with an update (no call). The overpayment check enclosed has not been cashed.

Has anyone else not yet received their shirts? Did anyone find their shirts arrived after the date the USPS said they had been delivered? Any help with this information would be appreciated.

I got my shirts as the tracking number said it would be delivered. I hope the missing shirts show up. :wizard:

Something to remember is that if you are the type that doesn't take anything for sea sickness and a unpredicable storm causes high swells like it did for us, it takes a long time to play "catch up" with meclizine or whatever your choice is. I talked to so many guests and CM's with that exact scenario on the 2005 EP PC cruise. It took most of the day for people to start feeling better. We actually loved "riding Hurricane Hilary". If you take it daily then you have no worries. I guess I go with the theory better safe than sorry. Holland America keeps green apples in your stateroom. I thought that was a nice touch.

:thumbsup2 This happened to me and I learned that lesson !!! I now take something everyday starting the day BEFORE I cruise.

I am hoping the Doubletree will hold onto my luggage if my room isn't ready. :) Did you get my check yet ? I really did mail it on Monday. ;)

One of the reasons the names are not that different from the English names is because they are not translations. They are Hawaiianized English, taking the English letters and combining with the Hawaiian alphabet.

For a translation you need to look to the meaning of the English name and translate the meaning, not the letters...So the root of Monica seems to come from the Greek and it means alone...In Hawaiian, the word Kiakahi corresponds to the Greek alone and means the only one, unique and supreme.

That is pretty......Kia - a - hi.....

good Morning all.....class dismissed.....:lmao:

OK, now I am curious. What would our names (Corinna and Graham) come out as.

I found out last night that our waitlist for the GC using DVC points came through! I'll happily take the $550 back for the cash room we had booked there!

Congratulations on your waitlist coming through.

Like a lot of other cruisers, we stock up on the Bonine and start taking it the morning of the day we board. We then take it daily until the cruise is over. We weathered 35-40 ft. waves one year during hurricane season in the middle of 3 tropical storms w/no seasickness whatsoever. :thumbsup2 It's also good to carry ginger candies (made w/real ginger); it does help w/nausea.

We were on this cruise where we ended up making friends with Hannah, Ike and Josephine. This is where I learned that I do not get seasick even though I normally suffer from severe motion sickness. We had similar waves on the last sea day of our Med cruise in 2010.

As I recall, seasick meds are available at the infirmary--one time we saw a basket full outside the infirmary door. In 12 cruises we have never taken any seasickness meds.

We are in 2515 this time so forward like you and on the other side of the ship.

I may well raid the supplies this time round - not for the ship, but for our Road to Hana excursion. I head definitely said no to this, but my heart so wanted to do it.

Mine arrived in super quick time all the way in the UK.

Hi all. Well since it was brought up, Go Bucks this Sarurday. Take down those birds. I did not go to collage, but I praticly grew up in my best friends home, and it's a OSU home. So GO BUCKS!!!!! Of course if we do lose I will not be suprised. It should be a great game between to really good teams. As for Apps for Disneyland, since the only one that does not rely on people updating at the parks is the Disney Mobile Magic app which is now available to everyone, this is the one I went with at WDW a month ago and it was spot on unlike the rest of them. One final note I am happy to share that if anyone is having Brunch at Palo on the final sea day, it will be my crew that I am traveling with in the private room. Got the conformation today.

Congratulations of getting the private room.

Hi Tina.....I hope so too, but I think that they will. They will also be holding a box that I'll be mailing ahead to them with my FE gifts, leis and hair flowers.

YES I just got your check today. Thank you SO MUCH!!!!!

I also got Fran, Jan, Val and Angie's checks today. Thank you SO MUCH everyone. Everyone is being so very generous....WOOHOO we're going to have a party!!!!!

We had no problems.
Thanks again for all your work!

Sure hope Tess's package is discovered!

I had an amazing response to my post that I had two more bracelets available. They were snapped up within seconds of me clicking submit. Everybody who PMed me should by now have had a response. I am sorry that I could not accommodate more of you.

I have been working on our Group Navigator every spare minute that I have recently and it is coming along nicely. I have sent a PM to most organizers that I needed information from and the ones that I am still missing will get a PM shortly. The Navigator is about 75% done and most of what is left to do is dependent on getting confirmation of various things from DCL. So a big thank you to all the organizers that have responded so promptly. You rock!!!

There are still a few gaps that I need to fill and I am hoping to be able to do this sooner rather than later. Here are the things that I need information on:

Whiteboards
I know that it was discussed that two cabins will have whiteboards on their doors for any last minute updates. Have we ever had any volunteers for this? I would need the details of the location of the whiteboards so that I can include this in the Navigator.

Group photo with Hawaiian Shirts
Have we got any idea as to date and time for this and a contact? I assume that this will happen in the Atrium. Again, I would like to add this to the Navigator that as many people as possible will see this.

Pre-cruise Meet Disneyland
I know that people keep asking for this, but I think we need somebody to take ownership of this. I start to think that it is a real shame that I won't be staying at Disneyland before the cruise as I would take this on otherwise. This would not take any work at all beyond determining a time and location and posting this on the DIS. I will make sure that the details are also added to the Navigator. I know that one possible location that was discussed was Grand Californian. I stayed there in September/ October and I would be more than happy to provide some advice about possible locations.

I think this just about covers it.

One more thing to cross off my list........Deb got check. :thumbsup2 I am also mailing Doubletree a box of FE. Hope they have a big storage room. :rolleyes1

silly me.......:lmao:

My DH was in charge of this LOL....I think it was cheaper doing this route :) We are playing Springfield, Dallas, LA and back from LA to Chicago to Springfield.

Doubletree is getting invaded by the DISers!!!! Hope they're ready for us. hahaha about having a large storage room, they're going to need it!!!!

Group Navigator

Preparations for the Navigator are going full steam ahead and there is still time to sign up for a copy. There will be two formats available: a version for electronic devices like iPads, Kindles, ereaders, etc. and a booklet version for printing out. You can request to receive either or both by filling out this short form:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dE1fVlVBbDV4NWhwVVBqU2w3QkFiRFE6MQ

I am intending to send these in PDF format in the week prior to sailing to the email addresses provided.

Scavenger Hunt

With the cruise getting closer, I am planning on sending out the Scavenger Hunt games packs by email to all people who have signed up so far over the weekend. This will be a PDF file, which you can just print out and bring on the cruise. However, you can still sign up to a week prior to the cruise and I will periodically send out the packs to new people who have signed up. You can sign up through this link:

Thanks Alan. I was wondering if anyone would complete the phrase. Maybe we can get one of the bands on the ship to play a little "Hang on Sloopy" What do you guys think?
