ALOHA and welcome aboard.

At this moment I have no idea. Much depends on how many people sign up. At the moment it looks like there will be two adult bracelet workshops, one adult Fairies, Princesses and Pirates workshop and one kid's Fairies, Princesses and Pirates. I have found at the two previous cruises that 12:00 to 13:00 is a good time as is 15:00 to 16:00 or even 10:00 to 11:00. Before I put together the groups and timings, I will check if people have stuff booked on certain days (Palo Brunch, Palo Tea, Spa Treatments, etc.

I understand, thanks for doing this Corinna. I can only imagine the time involved.:worship:

Welcome to the Dis and welcome aboard !!

Hello fellow Hawaiian cruisers.....my DW and I will be flying in the night before and arriving around 8 P.M. Since we have been to LA once and stayed at the Disneyland Hotel does anyone have a suggestion of a hotel near the airport that is clean and reasonable? We just need a place to sleep the night before this fabulous cruise. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks......Tom & Marilou:cool1:

:surfweb:....anyone that has had a GTY cabin.....when / how soon before the cruise do they assign your cabin? :confused3

Thanks in advance

Happy New Year Cruisers....C U Real Soon!

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

We got our 10A GTY last week (#7005) and I didn't want a connecting room, so our DU travel agent was able to change it to #7003.

However, we have still NOT gotten our 11B GTY assigned which was booked directly with Disney. I am crossing my fingers (probably in vain) that they are going to upgrade this room to an 11A so that they can put them on Deck 7 with us since the rooms are linked.

You might want to consider staying at the hotel by the pier that we have a group signing up for to get a discounted rate. Once you crash that night you are THERE and ready to get onboard the next day :-)...plus you can meet a few of us ahead of time.

Judy...do you have the name of the hotel? Like I said, we are novices when it comes to LAX and California....we have taken the Disney transfers back and forth to the port......anyway if you have the name I would appreciate it so I can do a little research.....thanks.

Go to the page where you can see your calendar days, looks like a deck of cards laid out. Click on one and see the option to e-mail it. Click on e-mail and see the option to send yourself that day or the whole trip. The e-mail comes with Stitch in his Hawaiian hat at the top of the page!!
Thanks, I learned something new! :thumbsup2

Some people got their room numbers yesterday...now I'm checking few times a day and still got GTY.

One thing I noticed before logging into DCL web site. Usually I need to put in email, password, res. # and birh date to access my reservation. Last few days it happened that page only asks me res. # and birth date????????

I have had it come up both ways too. I can't figure out the rhyme or reason because I always log in first. :confused3

We have used Priceline requesting a 3 star at LAX and gotten nice rooms for not too much $$

Or this would be even better! :thumbsup2

Since this group are big Disney Cruise Fans I hope someone knows the answer. In Jan 1 Los Angeles Times, it mentions that the Wonder Mexico schedule for Dec 9,16,23& 30 2012 has been scrapped in favor of a new itinerary. Does this mean that the Wonder is leaving it's West Coast San Pedro Port? Whats up???

Saw this report which included cruisers speculations:
"Perhaps the Wonder is replacing the [sister ship Disney Magic in the Caribbean] while [Magic] is updated for a more friendly 'Hawaiian' experience,"
Would love having the Magic on the west coast. Personally I'm hoping DCL is adding 2 Hawaii cruises in place of the cancelled cruises and that Hawaii will become a regular cruise itinerary from LA.

I just wanted to pop on and wish everyone a Happy New Year and let you know that Kimmy and I are offically paid in full and trying to figure out what excursions we want to do for our booking window on 1/15.

I am excited for this cruise since as I have not been on one since the Med & Transatlantic in 2010. I sadly will not be very active on here as I would like as I am crazy busy at work (but need to work to pay for these trips).

Hi gang. We (my sister and I) are sailing to Hawaii with you all (can't usually keep up with the meet threads for special cruises like this because you they get so long so quickly!). I'm sure we've sailed with a lot of you before, especially on longer cruises like TAs and new itineraries. We're looking forward to this one with so many sea days.

A few pages back, one or two people commented on the time for the Haunted Hawaii tour in Honolulu. As we really wanted to do this and the time is obviously (at least to me) wrong, I contacted DCL. Their response was that it was the correct meeting time and it doesn't matter that the meeting time was before the scheduled all ashore time "because you meet on board and they collect tickets". When I tried to explain that a 6:45am meet time gave them 45 minutes at least to collect a couple dozen tickets and I'd be upset if we really had to get up that early to sit in a lounge for the better part of an hour. The point of all this is I'm going to try to talk to someone in the excursions when they get in. I'll report if I get any info. But if someone else hears anything (or sees the time change online), I'd appreciate if you could post. Thanks.

Got the other excursions we wanted and seems like we'll see a lot of you at the luau. Also on the adult departure of Haleakala, Volcanos/macadamia and the train tour. Somehow booking the excursions made the trip seem more real. Now the real countdown begins . . . guess I better get our airfare!

The name of the hotel is the Doubletree San Pedro. Here is what was posted at one time about the group hotels reservations-----
"Hi. For anyone that didn't see my post on the Disboards, I have group space held at the Doubletree at San Pedro for pre-cruise rooms. I am waiting on confirming prices for hotel rooms at Candy Cane Inn; Queen Mary; Paradise Pier and the Hyatt Regency. If you are interested in staying at any of these places pre or post cruise let me know by email to Bweiss923@aol.com or call me at 215-219-5400. I'm ready to party, are you? Bev aka mickeymom923"-----
You might want to e-mail her because I believe there are more hotels on the possible group rate list now. But the Doubletree is the one by the pier...all the others are at Disneyland. My daughter and I are driving down from Seattle and plan to stay at Doubletree before cruise and at Disneyland after the cruise.

Let me share what a reliable source told me. Of course this is not set in stone but I hope it is true. The two stop Cabo trips are getting very pour guest satisfaction ratings from the passengers. They are going to change it up a bit due to that being the holidays. Maybe even another Hawaii cruise. The one thing that was pointed out very quickly was the fact that DCL has excersised two of the three year options they hold with the port. So now let's see if it all true.

Monica taught me :yay:
Let's see if I can remember while not near a computer.....

I intend to save the page and white-out the lines that say I have nothing planned. Then I can print it out and write in CG, et.al. for use on the trip and for my scrapbook.

:)

(I used the DCL CONTACT US and asked for instructions too but Monica answered first. I wrote back to DCL on the message they sent me suggesting that they make it more user-friendly. I told them that I do not like to find that the website has changed every time I am booking a new cruise, but if they are going to change it, they could make it more obvious.)

I am not surprised at this at all. When we did our MR cruise in October, we got up nice and early on the second Cabo day and expected a long waiting time for a tender. We were very surprised when we got to the Buena Vista theater and where told that they had a tender ready for us and even more so when we were the only people on that tender. A number of crew told us that not many people get off the ship on the second Cabo stop.

whew - less than a week and over 20 pages!

First: my deepest sympathies to those who lost family/friends recently.
Second: Happy and Healthy New Year to everyone, may all your wishes be granted.

Third:
My traveling companion (not anything more) Michael was online to do the Palo bookings - we got all three. As far as excursions, I tried for Maui also - no luck. I did make a couple of bookings.

I think that I may just ditch DCL excursions, and go off on my own. Since we are in an American port where I speak the language (well most of the time!) I feel I should be fine...I think I may just do this one as a fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants, to take a page from Michaels' book!!

There is a caveat of course...I finish my MSN in Dec of 2012 and I will graduate (walk) in May 2013, and my hunny (Halloween_gryl) has promised to take me on a wonderful trip. We had thought Disney Paris - the cost is so high that we can't possibly afford it. We are now working out going to Aulani for one week, then DLR for a few days, then onto San Francisco for a few more days....all to see Disney things and places!!

Thanks everyone for your kind words of comfort for me and my family. It really means a lot.

We won't be PIF until February, so I'm not booking anything. Most of the good stuff will be all taken. I was thinking about renting a jeep on each island and see where it takes us.

Does anyone have a good rental company for the islands that they want to recommend?

We found jeeps very expensive, unless you are planning some off road travel, you might just opt for small car, which are also expensive, but cheaper than jeeps!
