Well I booked the nursery for this time, just incase I can work some Magic. They are silver so I am worried.

Our friends are also silver. Worst case we will try to sort it out once we board. I just hate to spend the whole first afternoon doing all that business. :rolleyes1

I hear you, lucky for me I may have a inside track. I will have that person do some digging for me.

Online check in is done. I guess I did not really need to jump on that one. I wanted the earliest port arrival time since we are locals but it says because I am platinum I just show up when I want. So that's good news for all you Golds out there, the early times should be open for you.

Hello all ...

Just popping in to say Hi and a very Happy New Year to all. I am happy to see 2011 over with. It has been a trying year. Had to go to 5 funerals and bury my poor Budde the Bichon this year. 2012 has got to be better.

I won't be pif until next week. Asked Disney for a week extension due to banking hours over the holidays and delays in getting my bonds to cashed. Being a mere gold, means I need to wait until Jan 14 to book excursions.

I hope to get more involved in the new year on the boards. I'm still planning the Secret Mickey and will send out more information soon. You can sign up on the spreadsheet.

Jon ... congrats on keeping it a secret with Candida. Now that she knows, it would be great to have a southern Ontario meet. Limeridge Mall sounds good, as it is between Niagara Falls and London (Hi Katypop! I'm from Waterloo) and there is a Disneystore there too!!!

Anyhow ... I hope everyone has a great night on Saturday.

party:

A toast to a great year ahead! :drinking:

I would be interested in a southern ontario meet...I'm in London!

I see lots of you had fun night booking :) I hope you all got what you wanted....In need to wait 30 more days and I hope we can get some of our excursions on our list :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone...we are getting closer and closer :)

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope whatever you are doing tonight, you will enjoy and will be safe.

Pixiegran - that is great news you were able to secure a room for you and your daughter! I know how stressful it can be, but am glad that is over for you. I am sorry you were not able to find things you wanted to do with your daughter, but let me know what tours you are looking at if you don't mind. Maybe we can split some things if it works out. A couple of posts back, I listed the excursions we booked last night and they are all accessible. You can look at those, maybe it narrows it down a bit for you. In any case, I am sure we will see each other around the ship!

Alan - yes, that is another perk to being Platinum, we don't have to worry about check in, it is so nice. :) We plan to be there early as well, so maybe we will bump into each other.

Has anyone sailed out of LA as a Platinum member? We have only done PC, so I am wondering if there is a Platinum check in/waiting area. DH really likes the one they have at PC and it is very convenient. Any reports would be appreciated! :worship:

I called DCL to see about the helicopter tours and the CM I spoke to tried calling Guest Services, but could not get much information and the excursions department is closed on weekends. But, he did speculate that because there are two sailings, the helicopter tours may be seasonal only. I would recommend if you are really wanting to book with Disney to give them a call on Monday (or maybe Tuesday after the New Year). The tour conflicts with other things we want to do so I think we are going to book on our own in Hilo.

Good luck to everyone still waiting to book! :thumbsup2

Hello fellow Hawaii cruisers....my DW and I will be joining you. I see that a lot of people that were on the WBTA last year with us will be on this cruise also......if someone would be kind enough so I don't have to go through thousands of posts could you kind of give me the readers digest review of the cruise.....we already e-mailed about the lanyards but is it to late for the shirts and are is anybody going to try and set up some excursions on our own like to Pearl Harbor etc? We are kind of late joining the thread because I was concerned as to weather we would be able to swing paying for the cruise....but made the final payment so we are with ya...
Thanks much.
Tom & Marilou

Welcome!

Tess - there was a Platinum line, but I do not remember a Platinum waiting area, we waited with friends in the main area.

Have a great and safe New Year's Eve all!

I am so jealous of those who got to book last night! I think I have become spoiled sailing concierge last Nov and will again on April 8 on the Wonder and being able to book things early. I hope when my time rolls around there will still be openings left! Did anyone happen to notice if they were offering brunch on every sea day? How about high tea?

We are still undecided on exactly what to book.Found out that formal night is April30th. There are two semi formal nights- May 10 and 12 and Pirate night is May 11. That is what I was tole this morning.

Yes, both offered every sea day. I have lots of time to look around while on hold. 22 min so far :sad2:

Thank you for the information. That is a little disappointing, but I appreciate you telling me.

I was only looking at brunch during the first set of sea days before we get to the islands. But, by the time I looked after I completed my excursion bookings, there were not many left. I grabbed one brunch spot on the first sea day at 11:30 as that was my only choice, but I plan to change that and add a second brunch once on board. I did not look at tea, but dinner was pretty booked, too so I am thinking tea may need to be booked once on board as well.

EDIT TO ADD: Our party has 3 people so that effects the bookings. After reading Angie's comment, I went to the website and tried to book for two people only and there was much more availability. If your party has two, you should be good but if there are 3 adults or more, there is very limited availability.

To correct my post, I did not check for availability, I just checked if they were offered.

45 minutes to complete the call with DCL guest services. They were not able to help me get Maui booked and no one in on weekends and holidays that can help them. So, a supervisor is going to call me by Wed after she is able to talk with the website folks. So........... nothing accomplished today except to get someone working on getting something accomplished for me mid week. I feel confident we will get the Maui excursion we want when it is all sorted. :thumbsup2

Oh and she also tried to help me make my Palo brunch a reservation for 4 which would add our friends without adding their names (???? ok made sense to me at the time), but the only reservation for 4 was May 10 at 11:30. I did not change it, I will just deal with it when we get onboard. Looks like another busy first day aboard. But, we WILL be aboard and that is what is important!!:dance3::woohoo::yay:

On my itinerary of activities I printed this morning it lists the Pirate Deck Party at 9:45 pm on Day 6 - May 4 in Hilo, Hawaii.

For those inquiring about High Tea...I just checked and it says sold out. Lots of availability for Brunch on sea days for a party of 2. Palo dinner showing availability for every night for party of 2.

A big thanks to those who took the time to see what was being offered and when! Bummed about the high tea. A guess it is good that it will just be my friend and I so hopefully we can book a brunch when the time comes.

I don't plan on getting to the ship until 2:30 or so that way Grandma and Grandpa and the kids can hang around town and then go to the parking lot near by, hang out and wave goodbye as we set sail. So I won't be among the first in line to try and get openings once on board. It is still hard to believe that I will be leaving the kids for 2 weeks! First time leaving them since Dh died over 3 years ago. Wow, my anxiety is starting to kick in! :scared1:

I've signed up on the spreadsheet for the group brunch, looks like Tea is out, hopefully I can get a dinner ressie by the time I can book. BTW - who is taking care of the reservation for the group brunch - how does this work?

I'm really worried about The Old Lahaina Luau and whether there will be any availability when we finally can book (silver). The fact that it is the only luau offered and there is no possible way to book it independently is making me nervous. Everything else I figure we can either book independent or something else/similar and be fine.

Funny you should say this, you popped in my brain last night when I thought - it must be so hard for her to leave the kids for that long. No idea why this crossed my mind, but I'm sure it is a much needed and well deserved break, and you'll have a great time, even though I'm also sure it must be very hard! :grouphug:

I'm also suffering from this being the first time we've sailed in a stateroom that's not a suite. The waiting to book is killing me!

With all the sea days I am betting you will be able to book whatever you want first day onboard, just maybe not on a specific day. Give it a try anyway.

It is a big step to leave the kids, I hope you will be able to relax and really enjoy your time knowing they are in good hands and being properly spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa. :grouphug:
