April 28, 2011 3 night Dream

Hi folks

It me and DD18 joining the roll call for the April 28th "Just DREAM'in" cruise.
Looking forward to joining you. This is a last minute addition to my graduation present to self. We're coming to Florida April 27th for a couple of weeks (from the beautiful prairies of central canada - straight north of north dakota) and had a few days free and kept checking the disneycruise website and lo and behold if a cat 11 GTY didn't pop up one night at midnight for a song so we jumped on board and we'll be seeing you soon.

We don't know where our cabin is but we know they have a cabin set aside somewhere.

We've done one cruise before (Magic, western, 2008) and really just want to spend as much time exploring the new ship and to have another day at Castaway Cay. Does PCD (Post Cruise Depression) ever really go away? Ever since we stepped off board, we've been pining to step on board a Disney cruise ship again.

We're going to opt out of the FE but I'd love to meet other Dis'ers so that we can say "hi" when we meet at the quiet cove pool, cafe or if I bump into you on the dance floor.

Cheers

:welcome: CoolCanadian Glad to have you join us!

I'm Deb, traveling with my friends (all of whom are in the photos in my pictures above). Its our girls trip to the World with a quick cruise thrown in :jumping1: We are looking forward to exploring the new ship. We were able to get a reservation for Remy and an extended veranda on Deck 5 (guess we'll see how those work out . . .I'm thinking positively)

:flower3:

Welcome on board Cool Canadian. This will be our second cruise. But 10th trip to WDW. This time I'll have my daughter, son-in-law and two youngest grandkids with me. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.

Don't worry about being 40. I probably have you all beat..I'm turning 63 next week! Time marches on and there isn't anything you can do about it. My policy is meet it with dignity and grace and act the age you feel not the age you are. Whick makes me a kid at heart and lov'in life!

So excited about the FE!
My party will include Me(Kina), Sharon and DD(Kamiah(5) and Joslyn(5).

Have a think, but Id say you'll enjoy it., it really dosnt have to be fancy or expensive.

I turned 40 ,,,,,heavily pregnant in Barcelona,,,couldnt drink couldnt walk,,,
now we have a little 5yr old afterthought to make us grey prematurely,,,,
So turning 40 is a cause for celebration and you get a free cake with your dinner- yaaaaaaaaaaaay!:yay:

Bren

LOL! Gosh, I guess it won't be that bad at least I'll be able to have a celebatory drink. And, hey I am always in for free cake! LOL!

Happy "early" Birthday (in case I forget to say it next week). Or heck maybe you are already starting to celebrate. LOL! That's really good advice. :) I will take that to heart, I especially like the act the age you feel, not the age you are part. :) Reminds me of a Jimmy Buffet song..."I am growing older, but not up."
That's me! LOL!
:thumbsup2

Welcome CoolCanadian! Oh and grats on your up coming graduation celebration. :thumbsup2 Looks like we'll both be celebrating on this cruise. :) I have added you to page one on here for the who is going on this cruise list. Looking forward to meeting you, by the way since I am a local Florida resident feel free to prick my brain about your stay down here before your cruise. :) And no I don't think post cruise depression ever goes away. I complain alot about that, I think that's why I got the "where's my free room service cookie" tag under my signature by the DisBoard tag fairy. LOL! The tag doesn't quite go well with my Disney Camping threads when I post there though. :)

Hi folks.
Thanks for the warm welcome!!
Deb, I hope that I get to meet you and your friends. I'd love to see some familiar faces at the cafe or at morning breakfast (my DD is a night owl and I'm a bit of a morning bird). On the last (first) cruise I ordered breakfast in bed each morning 'cause you can but I took some heat for having the phone ring at 8:30 each day when room service called to say they were on their way. Tough on a teen who was in The Stack until the wee hours of the morning!
Mmketeer, lucky you living in a State with so many lovely ports. Manitoba is pretty much landlocked unless you want to head EVEN FURTHER NORTH to the arctic ocean,..., somehow not the same. Since this was a last minute decision, we are staying at the CIS airport the night before and after our Dream cruise and using the Disney shuttle. For 2 folks it seems to work out to a pretty good price. We fly in the evening before so will get to the airport in the morning and try to catch a shuttle close to 10am (first departure time).
By the way - I went online to see if there were any cabins on our cruise and it wasn't even showing on the list anymore. Perhaps its sold out?
Cheers

:rolleyes1 If CIS refers to Country Inn & Suites . . .we're staying at the same hotel the night before the cruise too! :upsidedow

I don't think there will be any staying up until the wee hours for us, but I have a "reputation" for being the early bird in the group :sad2: I blame my time zone, but really, I can't seem to sleep when there's so much vacationing to do :dance3:

Hi Deb
I realized after my last post I still hadn't introduced myself. I'm Sandra and DD is Natasha. I've had a milestone birthday or two and that's as far as I'm going with that :-)
Yes, CIS is Country Inn Suites Orlando Airport. It got good reviews on tripadvisor and the free shuttle to and from the airport makes it convenient for our trip along with what I hear is a pretty good complimentary breakfast (starting as early as 6:30 or 7am I think - not bad for the early birds).
When I added ground transportation for the cruise, the rep said that the first shuttle left the airport at 10am. Any guesses for what time we should be at the airport to catch the first one?
Cheers,

I did a quick search on the main cruise board and found this information http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=37645781&postcount=9 or http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=37645671&postcount=8

Maybe it will help you decide when to get to the airport to catch the bus. We have a rental car, and will probably leave the hotel around 9 a.m.

Thanks!
That's helpful. With just two, the shuttle seems to be the best option and worry free. Thank you for the links. It looks like there may be a 9:30 departure so we'll see how eager we are to get up in the morning and maybe aim to be at the airport closer to 9'ish rather than 10.
Cheers,

So sorry April 28th cruisers, I have had to change my trip to the following week, but i hope you all have fun.:yay:

Yes, I am truely blessed. Now if I could just have more money, so I can really take advantage of it. LOL! Looks like you got a good plan CoolCanadian, you certainly won't regret coming in a day earlier. :)
