Welcome!! I'm so excited about this cruise, I can tell you are too! I'm the grandma (hi to your mom - another grandma!) and I'm traveling with my husband, two adult daughters, one son-in-law, two granddaughters (3 & 5) and grandson (6).

Here is what I know about the Fish Extender groups - I believe I have all this info correct, but I can't guarantee it!
So, here goes:
The person coordinating is JKleinmom - you can see posts from her earlier in this thread. We've agreed that at 30 days before the cruise (Mar. 28th) we won't add anymore families to the FE groups, so that no one has to scramble at the last moment to make more FE gifts.

The first thing you should do is to get your posts up to 10 (you show you're at 4) by going to the TEST forum and simply making 6 more posts - doesn't matter what - just "TEST" will do. Until you have 10 posts you can't use the inbox / private message feature here on the DISboard. (It's actually called a "conversation" thread.) That way JKleinmom can send you a message and put you in a group, and send you the information you need to know about the Fish Extender groups.

The original group has 15 staterooms / families involved, so that group is closed. A second group has been started that has four families in it, I believe you will make five. There may be a few of us from the original group that will also participate in the second group, just so there's enough people to make it fun. (And because I've already made way more FE gifts than I'm gonna need, so I may be in your group as well!)

There is SO much information to read on here, stuff on pinterest, etc. Lots of good advice & ideas!! It can keep you quite busy until the cruise. Good luck! - Schermo, aka Ann

Hi roxy.5000! First thing you need to do is find the "test" board & post 10 times. Once you do that you'll be able to send & recieve personal messages (here it's called a conversation.) There is definitely still room in the 2nd FE group but the last day to join is the 27th. Jkleinmom is running the group so watch for an invite from her.

30 days till we cruise!!! So today is the last day to join the FE group.
5 years ago we mentioned Make A Wish to our then 6 yr old Kinzie. She wanted to go on a Disney Cruise and do everything with her sister. We wanted to make sure it was really wanted to do and be old enough to remember. Well her wish never changed and the girls would spend hours comparing ships and the things to do. The Chill Spa for Tweens, the clubs, now the Aquaduck..so last year it was apparent this was the perfect time to do her Wish. We started the process in Sept. When I was notified of the sailing date it was 76 days away. Now it is as if I blinked and it is only 30 days!!! This trip has been anticipated for years and it is really going to happen!! I am so grateful for the advancements made in treating CF. On the outside you would never think anything could be haywire with Kinzie. But a quick glance at a X-ray or CT and you can immediately see the difference in her lungs and digestive system. She takes over 40 pills a day and does her Vest and nebulizer treatments every morning and night. We plan on ordering room service for evening snacks and breakfast. I don't tell you this for pity or sympathy. Just to express how exciting this trip is going to be, how long it has been dreamt about and that the FE club jumped right to the top of her list of things to do when she heard about it last year. We are so excited to meet you all! 30 days!!

We're in rm 7034 Kinzie is now 11 and Sierra is 13. We plan on going to the open house of the kids clubs on the first day. Kinzie might want to go to Oceaneers on her own sometime if she makes friends, so we're checking it out. so excited to hopefully meet you all! Sierra wants to make contact cards to give new friends. It would only include info I was comfortable with her sharing.... Facebook and email possibly no address or phone numbers... Still debating.. How do other teen parents feel about this? I like that she'd have something ready and not feel pressured to share more info upfront. You never know where and when you'll meet lifetime friends.
