Our snowbanks are over six feet! we have lots to go around. on the upside, i hear our temp is going to go into the plus numbers starting tomorrow so maybe it will melt a little and we will be able to converse with the neibours again.
16 weeks, sooooo close.

All our snow is melting away. It was in the 40's today but very very grey. Almost felt like I was in Ohio. :lmao: That was for Karen who is always saying how grey her winters are.

UTOP with melting snow! PDFG and all our friends who need it.

As it gets closer to the launch date (cruise and shuttle :) ), I'll let you know the lift off time. If the launch is scrubbed till Saturday, there may be a slight traffic impact for those traveling from Orlando. Not to worry, because the heavy traffic will occur AFTER the launch, heading west (away from the cruise terminals).

Disney bans kids at fanciest restaurant

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

ORLANDO — Walt Disney World, home of Mickey Mouse, Tigger and Tinkerbell, has banned young children from its fanciest restaurant.

Beginning this week, children under 10 are no longer welcome at Victoria & Albert’s in the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the theme park’s only restaurant with an AAA five-diamond rating.

“We want to be the restaurant that’s available for that adult experience,” said general manager Israel Perez.

Disney says it is responding to its guests’ desires after surveys showed many diners wanted a more-adult restaurant atmosphere, said Rosemary Rose, Disney’s vice president for food, beverage and merchandise operations.

“Combined with the research we’ve done with five-diamond restaurants outside Central Florida and the guest feedback we’ve gotten ... we stepped back and said it’s time to take a look at this practice,” Rose said.

Still, Rose said there are plenty of other dining options for families. Disney World has 97 other full-service restaurants. She also said that only about three families a month ever brought young children to Victoria & Albert’s, which has the highest prices and the most intimate and elegant atmosphere at Disney World.

Men are required to wear jackets, and women must wear dresses or pantsuits. The hushed atmosphere features live harp music, and the menu, which changes daily, offers seven-course dinners that can last as long as three hours. Prices start at $125 a person.

“I get it. I’m a parent myself,” Rose said.

David Koenig, author of “Realityland: True-Life Adventures at Walt Disney World,” said the ban on children could be a master marketing stroke for the theme park.

“Word will get out, and people will go, ’Oh, wow, I didn’t realize it (the restaurant) was that special of a place,’” Koenig said.

It isn’t the first time Disney banned children from establishments. Disney has periodically barred children who are not with adults from its Pleasure Island entertainment district and from individual nightclubs.

Disney also has an adults-only restaurant on its two cruise ships.

I always thought Victoria and Alberts was adults only. I don't see taking kids there. :confused3 Of course what do I know. The one time we ate there (17 years ago on our honeymoon) we ended up getting burgers from the take out place after. :lmao: I'm just not into food that fancy.

Yeah, but did it rain? It was grey and cloudy and rainy all day today!

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Nick. I can't believe my "baby" is 11!

I never knew V&A's official policy on kids, but it wasn't going to be a place I took my kids. For one, ds would order mac & cheese, and at V&A it'd probably be $35 for that! :lmao:

the closest we ever came to Victoria and Albert's was when we walked past it on our way to Narcoossee's for dinner

Well kind of rainy as well, but maybe not as much as by you. However today was an excellent day for us! A little back story. Back when Mark and I were dating the group we hung around with were into British shows. There was one we all watched on very bad video tapes (taped off of tv with a video camera and then copies made) of a show called The Professionals. Anyway a friend of mine told me about a new shop down by her that had all kind of science fiction and British media. Looking at their website we saw they had the complete collection of The Professionals on DVD. Only problem is that they are Region 2 (aka PAL, which means they don't work on US players). Well imagine our surprise when grocery shopping this morning we found a $40 DVD player that said it could handle PAL! We bought it, took a ride down to this store and bought the DVD's and now we are watching this show again...but crystal clear this time. OK it is a cheesy British cop show from the 80's but we are enjoying it. It takes so little to make me happy some times. :)

So wonder what all the Ohio people will be doing tonight? :lmao:

GO BUCKEYES!

wow not even 5 minutes into the game and Ohio State score's we have at least 2 happy cruise families :happytv:

Sadly it happened like last year. First score but then losing the game. Sorry Buckeye fans. Still a very very good season and I know most teams would love to have your record.

Guess since football season is over we should all start planning a cruise. :lmao:

“Toy Story - The Musical,” a new Broadway-style stage show, will make its debut on the Disney Wonder cruise ship at the end of March.

“Toy Story - The Musical” will have a “soft” opening at that time, and the show will make its official premier on April 10.

The Disney Wonder sails on three- and four-night Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral.

“Toy Story is a very, very rich and compelling story, and it’s given us great material to pull from to put together this Broadway-style musical for the ship,” Disney Cruise Line spokesman Jason Lasecki said today. “It’s heartwarming and humorous, and it has characters people relate to. It’s a phenomenal new show for the ship.”

The cruise line replaced the show “Hercules the Musical” with “Twice Charmed” aboard the Disney Magic in 2005.

It was sad that we didn't win but our it wasn't a butt whipping like last year. Our boys hung tough and we have no reason to be humilated like last year. I was proud to wear my scarlet and gray yesterday and was pleased to see that a lot of fans felt the same way. The Brunswick family had a great time in New Orleans.

Good morning Cruisers
