April 26 - May 3, 2008 Caribbean Crazy Cruisers

we are flying down on friday and home on sunday

we're flying down....don't know when. might have to come a couple days early to visit with mike's mom....

and i'm sure we'll stay at least a week at wdw after the cruise. mary, maybe we should plan a dinner together if you're going to be around. to kinda wean us into realizing you won't be there for every dinner. kinda like when you met up with us and we did the MK....

my guess is one way or another we'll be down in FL for 2 1/2 weeks.

Got our tickets last night for our DL/San Diego trip....
I hate the airlines.
we found a good rate through delta....decent layovers, etc (actually cheaper than it's cost us recently to fly to FL) so i called my parents....they are going out that way too, but not doing DL....but we'll meet up with them for San Diego...

so they want us to get their tickets too.
so now instead of 4, we try to get 6.
it won't let us!
so we try 4 again...it works...
so, mike and i get on our laptops and he does the reservation for 4 and i do the one for 2 (my parents)
mine goes through, his doesn't.
so then he tries a ressie for 3...IT WORKS! and they are all still the cheap rate.
now i have to go get my ticket....and it's $80 more expensive!!! apparently they only had 5 of those "cheap" tickets left so when we tried to do 6 it was too many.
so since my ticket is $80 more....I WILL GET EXTRA PEANUTS!!!!!! I'LL SEE TO THAT!!!!
it was just nuts though trying to get all 6 tickets, make sure they were the same days, the same flights, seats next to one another.
ARGH!
but we did it....i think!
and really, my $80 extra spread out over the 6 tickets isn't that much more.

but we learned something....when we fly to FL we always just accept the rate that they give us for 4 ppl....well, now we're going to start trying ressies for 4, and 3, and 2, and 1 to at least try to get SOME of the seats cheaper! (sigh)

Good morning everyone! Back to work for me today and I think it will be another long one. Such is life!

I did get the scrapbook I was working on finished over the weekend. My Mom was an only child but had a very close-knit group of girlsfriends who became my "aunts". One of them is out in AZ and had back surgery so I made this mini (8x8) scrapbook for her. I have pictures of her and my Mom at Mom's wedding, group pictures from all thier friends kids weddings, a retirement party she hosted in her home, my bridal shower that she hosted and pictures from our wedding. Hopefully it will bring a smile to her face.

Karen- wasn't that fun after the last cruise. I have to share this with everyone. When we got off the last cruise a number of us were staying for at least a couple of days. Mark and I checked into our Boardwalk home in a studio. While walking back to the room that first night the DH of another DISer was walking down the hall. We asked what room they were in and it turns out they were in the one bedroom part that connected to our room. So he goes back to the room and tells the family to open the connecting door. They invited us to dinner with them the night night at Ohana which was great fun. After dinner we were riding the monorail to TTC to transfer back to Epcot. They were riding it to Magic Kingdom to meet up with Karen's family. They got Karen on the phone and after hearing Karen's voice Mark and I decided to get off at Magic Kingdom and surprise them.

Well if we do the 11 month window it will be Boardwalk but I think we're flexible and willing to try anything.

We're flying in September 26th. Staying at DLR until October 2nd, then heading to San Diego to meet back up with my parents and do some touristy things there.

but I can't find it anywhere on my photo hard drive thingy. Maybe I just remember it from your camera?

I'll have to talk to Mike about where we're staying. I know by that point we won't have stayed at the lodge in 18 months (although we may be good with having stayed at the Grand Californian).....we LOVE OKW in the spring...just launches us into summer. I know the kids love Beach Club for the pool, but we'll only have one week at WDW, I can't see us lounging by the pool much. OH OH....Now I remember...AKL will be open then. I think we talked about trying to get in there. Of course, we'll get our room at the lodge at the 11 month window as a "just in case" but at 7 months I think we'll try for AKL. Amazing how sometimes it all comes back to me!

Hi all! Home for lunch. It's going to be another busy week! Our Memorial Day was fun, we had friends over in the afternoon and BBQ'd tri tip, chicken, and hotdogs. I made a Greek Pasta Salad with chicken that was a hit. DH chipped a tooth yesterday, thank goodness he wasn't in pain. He's going to the dentist tomorrow...poor guy!

Well we talked a bit last night and it looks like our plan is to fly down on Friday and stay near the port (most likely the Hampton Inn where we stayed last May).

Then after the cruise stay Saturday, Sunday and Monday at WDW flying home early Tuesday morning.

We'll book BWV at the 11 month window. We're not going to try AKV this early...maybe some day. However if you guys decide to stay at VWL we may try that at the 7 month window. Tried it once and had a less than wonderful experience but willing to give it another try. If you get into AKV or change to BCV we'll most likely stay at BWV.
