I'm a Big Brother fan (or as Mark calls it Oh Bother!). :lmao: Some interesting twists this year. I know who I would like to see out of the house already.

hasn't been on here on the West Coast yet...and I probably won't watch it until after the kids have gone to bed. I am taping it on the DVR!

Randy we are wondering what kind of weather we may be looking at for the cruise. We are hoping for clear skies and sunny weather just bought a new Jimmy Buffett book to read relaxing by the adult pool that is if we can get chairs.

Hi Everyone
I'm writing this from a hotel room in Atlanta.

Last nite we watched the fireworks from Cocoa, along the Indian River. We arrived at 5:45pm to beat the crowds. It started to rain about 6:30pm but fortunately it didn't last long. Getting there early also allowed us to pick a good parking spot to avoid the traffic - we were home by 9:45pm.

DD4 was cute last nite. She exclaimed "Daddy I love fireworks! I'm not scared anymore!" :cheer2:

So, to answer your question WDWLUVRS, the worst case scenario you can expect on April 26 would probably be mid 60s. We just took the 3 day cruise on May 27, and it was abnormally windy that day. Otherwise, on a normal April 26 day it will probably be in the mid 80s.

Good morning everyone - happy Friday!

April/May is a great time to cruise. Not too hot but not too cold. Plus the calmest water we've ever seen at Castaway Cay last May (which was at the end of May).

The added benefit is that it is Flower & Garden time at Epcot - one of my favorite times to go. Still haven't made our reservations for after the cruise. I'll have to talk to Mark about that today and maybe get them booked today.

morning all! I am up early for some reason but I think I am going to go back to bed for a while! :rotfl: Happy Friday!

What is Flower and Garden time we plan on going to Epcot Saturday evening the day the cruise gets back into FLA.

The link above does a good job of explaining the Flower and Garden Festival. Basically the floral desingers all around Disney go wild and showcase their talents in Epcot. They also have the Flower Power concerts at the American Pavillion which are always a lot of fun especially if you are a fan of the oldies like we are.

Woo Hoo a UTOP with Mike and the Flower & Garden festival.

PDFG and all who need it!

is Epcot doable in a day? If we left the ship at 8am, got there by 9am, would it be possible to finish by 5? Our plane leaves at 7 something.

Good morning Cruisers

We sail in 42 weeks!

Tough question. Epcot is big! You could walk around and see everything in that short a day but I think it would be hard to do all Epcot has to offer in that time. You could skip Soarin' since you have that out in California Adventure, but there is still Test Track, Mission Space, Living Seas, Journey into Imagination and all the countries. You'd be leaving too early for any of the Flower Power concerts and if you wanted to eat at any of the sit down resturants you'd be taking up a good chunk of time. Plus you wouldn't have a lot of time for what I enjoy most about Epcot and that is the experience itself. Shopping in all the shops, stopping and watching the entertainment (love Off Kilter), that type of thing.

Most peope who are flying out same day opt to go to Downtown Disney instead. Or if I was picking a park to do in that short of time I think I would pick Animal Kingdom.

Speaking of staying after. Mark and I talked yesterday and we're going to book a stay at Boardwalk for the Saturday, Sunday and Monday after the cruise. We'll fly home early Tuesday and go into work that day. Now to call Member Services and book it!

you know me, and you know I'd never abuse the terms and conditions of the DIS, but technically, I'm just letting friends know about this contest......

I'm up for Class Clown (no, really?)

and this one I believe you CAN vote every day....so get out there and vote.

that would be "Pediascribe" for Class Clown.

But you didn't hear it from me. ;)

And you didn't hear that if you have more than one computer, you can vote more than once a day. Nope. Didn't hear that from me. :)

:grouphug: Awwww. Thanks. Funny thing is, I'm up for "best parenting blog" at another site, but I'd much rather be labeled "class clown." How sad is that?

Btw, if any of you have any really gross, nasty, dirty, kids-got-you-filthy stories, feel free to submit them to:

I'm running a contest and giving away a little "spa" package. :)

Hello again,

I know it has been awhile, but life got in the way of visiting this site.

The girls and I leave for Alaska on Wednesday. I forgot to find/buy a flowergirl dress for my dd to wear in the wedding. My sister in OC found a store and bought 5 for Natalie to choose from.

My sister-in-law and her 2 kids have been at my house for 2 weeks  I like them, but it is alot of work for me.

I'll write later about our DL trip on 7/2. Btw, Nemo had a 2 hour wait at 7:20 a.m. Actually that was fine because all of the early admission people were in line for Nemo and we walked on everything else and did the everything we wanted in the first 2 hours.

Life calls again (actually I have to do the 3rd load of towels today). Did I mention that my sil doesn't cook (and I hate to) and I've had to cook for the last two weeks.

Jen

Jen - have a great trip. Can't wait to hear all about it!

Here's to a trip without you having to do any cooking and being the one pampered!

have a great trip, Jen! Please take lots of pictures to share with us! I was just talking to DH the other day how cool an Alaska cruise would be. I really, really hope we will enjoy cruising!

I know what you mean about DL...we went on a non-early admission day on purpose, and went to Nemo first thing, and there was already a 2 hour wait! We got there 20 min. after the park opened. But we were able to walk on sooo many rides, including Pirates. It was great! We did end up waiting for it later, because I was dying to go on it! :yay:

Dream - I just want to keep things real for you. First, you will probably arrive to Epcot around 9:30am. Next, time is wasted parking, getting thru the bag checks, and lines at the front gate. Realistically, figure you will be inside Epcot around 10am +/- 15 minutes if you leave Port Canaveral at 8am.

Now, if you want to arrive at the airport an hour prior to departure, you need to remember that Epcot is a very large place. If you plan to be in your rent-a-car at 5pm, work backwards and you could find yourself giving the GO to leave at 4pm, especially if you are in the World Showcase.

In summary, figure you will have approximately 6 hours in the park. Lines for rides (20 minutes to an hour) and walking around won't allow you to do too much. Plus there is time to eat. You can still have a good time under these circumstances if you go in with the correct 'mind-set.' That is, relax, don't rush around, and see what you can knowing that it will be impossible to cram it all in during a single day.

I hope this helps put things in perspective.

Good morning everyone - happy Sunday! Looks like it is going to be a hot one here in Chicagoland. Think we'll hide indoors and do things around the house that need to be done (long overdue). I admit I was pretty much a slug yesterday who didn't do much. :lmao:

Today is KT's birthday. Mike has to work from 9-??

And then we're going to his dad's house for a CAMPFIRE (in which I'll have to cook pie molds) and FIREWORKS.

In this blazing heat!

Yikes!

Kay keep in mind you will wait in line for the rental car and to return it as well as waiting in line to purchase tickets at Epcot I agree you would not get into Epcot until at least 10:30 and and you would need to consider leaving by 4 to allow time for all the returns check ins and searches but it is do able and sense you are already in Florida go for it you could have a easy 5 to 5 1/2 hours in the park time to see most of the major attractions and use the fast passes when you can go straight to test track as that attractions fast passes get filled up fast
