Good morning everyone. Time for another Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip(s) Of The Day

This is the one I usually do last but with some people leaving up to a week early I thought I would do it now. It is a collection of little tips that may help with any last minute packing. Things you may want to bring depending on your own tastes.

Shampoo, conditioner and body butter are in your bathroom in small tubes (just under 3 oz.) They are by H2O+ and are very nice. You may or may not want to bring your own favorite brand.

Both the tissue and toilet paper on board is not of the highest quality as far as softness. Again you may want to bring a favorite brand if that is important to you. If you do however I would suggest using the TP sparingly - remember that you are on a ship and it has to break down faster and better than what is used on land.

There are not a lot of outlets in the room so some people like brining an extension cord to plug things in.

If you need a hair dryer with lots of power it is suggested you bring your own as some people don't like the ones onboard.

If you like to know what time it is at night you might want to pack a small travel alarm clock. The one we bring lights up by pushing a button and gives a little extra light.

Don't forget some singles for room service and quarters if you want to do laundry.

Most of all don't forget your important documents and id's.

Last but not least - bring a sense of adventure and prepare to have an amazing time.

I went to the bank last week and got a bunch of the dollar coins and $2 bills. It took 3 banks (one had nothing, one had $2 bills, one had the coins), but I finally scored.

Good Morning Everyone,

Today is Steven's Birthday.

:bday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY:bday: party:

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

American Idol Report, from another website:

I love when people come together to make something special happen for someone else.

According to reports, David Cook’s brother, Adam, was in attendance last night and will be tonight. David’s brother recently suffered the setback of a second diagnosis of brain cancer. He is undergoing aggressive chemotherapy and as much as he has wanted to fly out to California to support his brother, his health has simply precluded that from happening. Doctors have said he is too ill to travel commercially.

Enter family, friends, and big hearted businesses...

Adam and his wife, Kendra, flew Sunday to California, accompanied by medical personnel – the private charter jet, medic, and nurse all paid for by Clarion Health of Indianapolis.

They are staying at a hotel directly across from where Idol tapes – the cost being absorbed by B102.7 radio station in Terre Haute.

Laughter may indeed be one of life’s best medicines, but so, too, is the presence of those we love.

Kendra has said, "The excitement of seeing his spirits lifted so high has been wonderful."

THIS is what I mean when I tell my kids that the good people of the world still outnumber the bad. THIS type of outpouring, support, and willingness to step in to make this extraordinary trip possible is the heartwarming, human, beautiful kind of story that typically gets drowned out by the constant political pissing contests, war reports, and terrorist alerts in which we have become so mired.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Cook family as they continue to support Adam in his fight to beat his cancer back into remission. And my thanks are with everyone who has made David’s and Adam’s reunion possible. You done good. Not just for them, but for every decent person who stumbles into the potholes of doubt about just what this world is coming to.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Can't wait to be celebrating on the MAGIC!!!! God do I feel old...............

Happy Birthday Steven. :cake:

Thanks for the packing tips! As a first-time Disney cruiser, they help a lot. You mentioned bringing ones and quarters. Isn't there a place to get change on the ship?

There is a change machine in the laundry room but I've heard that it is sometimes broken. You can of course get change and bills broken at guest services as well. I just like to come prepared. So I'll have some dollar bills for room service (not that we use it that often), some quarters in one case for the laundry, and of course my dimes in another case for LRC!

tomorrow we'll be in the SINGLE DIGITS!!!!!!!! It still doesn't seem real to me!!! :rotfl:

Ok, I have to chime in since someone brought AI up!!

First, 10 days until party time..WooHoo! I am so excited I could cry !

David Cooke! Wow, I knew that story so that just made the performance that much better. That was a hot performance!

What is LRC??????? I'm dying to know. Also, some of my electronics (MP3 player and camera) only get charged when I plug them into a computer. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I'm going to be able to recharge these things? They need to be plugged in for a while so I can't very well sit there and let them charge. Any suggestions???

My family and I (about 10 people, not all 111 of us) are going to the Kennedy Space Center on Saturday before boarding. What is the latest you would recommend us getting to the cruise terminal if we want to be sure to actually make it on board? Do they stop boarding at 4:00 sharp? Thanks everyone!

LRC stands for Left Right Center. It is a dice game that we've played with our friends from Ohio on past cruises. We're bringing our dice and our dimes this time as well and anyone from the group is welcome to join in a game. We don't have planned times it is more of a spur of the moment thing.

I would say to be on board no later than 3:30. 4 pm is when the safety drill happens and they want everyone on board by that time.

I've seen on some of the other forums that people bring liquor with them when they first board the ship. What is Disney's policy about that? Is it allowed, and could it be brought on packed in a suitcase? Don't want to break the rules, that's why I'm checking first.......

Since we are driving to Cape Canaveral from Montz, LA., we are leaving next Thursday, for a 2-day leisurely drive (we could make it in 12-14 hours straight if necessary). That will be my DH Bill's 70th birthday. Even though we will "celebrate" it on the road, I hope to have a better party onboard! Can't wait to meet y'all.....

Ginny
