we have 8 ft. snow banks so i do feel for you. today the sun is shining so all is well. we have had whiteouts for several days straight so sun is good!
Thank you for the welcome.

I had the same problem with my passport, advising that the birth certs were not acceptable, so I forwarded the other one I received from the state of Michigan
(Looked exactly the same with the raised stamp). 14 days later I received my passport.

Good luck with the storm, be careful clearing the lot for the little ones. I am sure you are use to it, but I agree, Fl. sounds good.

Only dumping 2-3 inches here.

Hello All,
Joining in the the Fun. :cool1: New to the boards as well.

I'm Lee (65) and my sweet wife is (56). We love everything about Disney and all it has to offer.
We are Seniors and kids at heart. Our 3 youngins are married with 5 of there own childern.

We went on our 1st cruise in May of 05 with friends. Loved every minute of it. In September of 06 we went to California for 15 days and DL. (Last trip to DL for me was in April 1960). in Oct of 06 we started planning for this trip. In January 07 we booked :dance3: January 17 scheduled Polo's and excursions. Are we excited.:yay: Oh ya. Now we wait.

Hope we have the opportunity of meeting some of the boarders.:rotfl: :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard! It will be myself (Mary) and DH (Mark aka MarkRG). Nice to see others joining the cruise.

just registered the kids for the club and stuff. Didn't get palo brunch :( Could have gotten dinner but don't really want it. We always eat dinner together on vacation so we are not really interested in palo dinner. Really would have liked brunch though :( Oh well, I will try as soon as we get on board.

I noticed that they now have a dolphin encounter on St. Thomas day. So I booked that since St. maarten is still not offered again! My kids were so disappointed (me too!). Has anyone done the Lotterie Farm Hidden Forrest Tour in St. Maarten? Would my kids (12 and 8) be bored? I am really torn about what to do in St. Maarten now. I have not even looked into any of the excursions there because we just assumed we'd do the dolphin enounter there :(

dreamcometrue - Ok, that's 3 [ :sad1: ] in your last post (and no :) ). Everything is going to be great, except day 8 (the day we all have to go back home). Remember, nothing will go exactly as we envision, but overall this will be a trip to remember for a lifetime. So no more sad faces for you! ;)

I haven't made any plans yet for St. Thomas or St. Maarten either, but I'll think of something in the next few weeks. I am more anxious about our passports - I shouldn't have waited so long. Yes I am a procrastinator. I kept thinking we've got to get it done, but nothing happened. LOL. No PALO brunch for us either. But as I mentioned in a previous post, I'm going to try the 'heard it on the elevator' trick to see what happens.

For us, I wish my 2 kids were better swimmers. Then, we could all go snorkeling in different places. I know - living in Florida with kids who can't swim is not a good thing. We gave our kids swimming lessons over the summer and they are 100x better, but still are not confident enough in the water. Heck, my DD wouldn't go near the water for the first 2 weeks of lessons, but ended the season jumping in feet first. She can swim about five feet now; enough to get her to the side of the pool.

So all will be fine, as long as I don't try to move people too fast in the morning. I will also need to issue a lot of "Yes Dears" to keep the DW stress-free. The family will be together to share a wonderful vacation together, and we'll figure out something to do in the coming weeks ahead. And finally, we may meet some nice people on the ship (re: this board). :thumbsup2

Great advice Randy! I've seen it happen cruise after cruise.

The people who have the best times are the ones that can go with the flow, don't get thier expectations up too high and can just enjoy the experience for what it is.

Today was fun zero out when I went in at 5am only to find that the snow blower was not installed on the tractor after a lot of:mad: and talking to myself I started to clear snow to find problem #2 the heater in the cab was not working. Home now and wondering as I read how can all the Palo Brunch reservations get filled so quickly. anyone know how the Internet on board works would it pay to bring our own laptop or sign up for the Internet usage program on the ship we plan to use this to keep in contact at home and use the cell for emergency.

Gee that looks familiar! I spent all of Wed plowing, including having to remove the plowblade off the truck and drag it inside to repair it, right in the middle of the worst of the snow. Know how that feels.

Everything you wanted to know, and probably a good bit more ;) : Disney Cruise Line Internet Access

Randy - you ok? Some nasty weather going through Florida this afternoon and Shirley reported a tornado touchdown in Cocoa Beach. Hope you and your family are ok!

Mary
Thanx for asking. The weather was pretty nasty all around, but a tornado (or 2) hit about 10 miles from my house. The condo's that were hit are a mile south of Ron Jons on A1A. Luckily, nobody was hurt; just a little bit of physical damage. We're still under a tornado watch till 11pm. They've been talking about bad weather hitting us tonite, but all we've had is a little bit of rain. The tornado's today weren't even supposed to be this 'bad' weather coming our way.

Two hours to go. Hopefully everything will be ok (knock on wood). :-)

Randy - hope the night wasn't too bad. Here is to blue skies and no more storms!

UTOP - PDFG and all our friends who need it!

Storm!? What storm!? I didn't even hear it raining last nite.

Well now we're back to the cold weather as a front moves in. It's got to be in somewhere the mid-60s right now. Brrrrrrr. I hope I don't get frostbite.

I filled out all the info online last night. Of course, my DH who received his passport a week or two ago, could NOT find it. It wasn't with the others and we just about went crazy trying to find it. Finally did find it, thank God.

I keep checking back for Palo ressies, but so far nothing yet. I am not too worried about it. We plan on getting to the port early anyway, so hopefully we can reserve for a brunch then!

We've been having some beautiful weather here in Southern California. It's supposed to get cooler again though.

Hope you all have a fantastic day!

I know I should post this on the community board, but ... :sad2:

This is my second Disney cruise, so I am a member of the Castaway Club. I understand there is a reception and a gift.

1) Do I need to do anything to get invited or attend the reception?
2) When and where is it?
3) Will the gift arrive in my stateroom on some given day or do I need to contact someone to order it?
4) Anyone from this roll-call planning to attend the reception?
5) Any other perks to being a CC member?

Thanx

Randy - don't ever hesitate asking questions here. That's all part of getting to know each other and helping each other.

1) you don't need to do anything to get invited. An invitation will be sent to your stateroom. Usually a day before.

2) When and where it is can change based on how many repeat cruisers there are. It is usually held down in one of the clubs mid afternoon.

3) The gift should be waiting for you in your room or arrive fairly early your first day.

4) We may or may not go to the CC reception. In the old days when it was smaller and more intimate it was fun to attend because you could talk to the officers and Captain. Lately on many of our cruises they have been so busy we've just skipped them. So we're a maybe.

5) There was a separate check in line for CC members. Honestly can't remember if they still have that or not. There was a time when it was even busier than the regular line so we'd just skip it.

That's about it. The big benefit for being a CC member is that 90 day booking instead of the 75. The gift is usually nice as well.

Randy good to here the worst of the weather skirted your area just a note it is 19 outside here now. Eileen and I will be attending the castaway club reception. We will probably wait to register when we get to the terminal.

Good morning everyone!

:love:Happy Valentine's Day!

Hey Randy,

Thank you for asking the question on the cc club meeting. This is also our 2nd cruise. The wife and I would like to attend.

So glad the storm has blown out to sea. We had a mix of every thing in Mass. I think Western NY got it first.

Lee

Our weather the other day we had everything rain sleet and snow as the day went on and temperatures went down. seems we are getting active conversations going. Thought we would add another question for everyone where do you plan to be for the sail away party. on the first cruise we were down on the pool deck for awhile the second cruise we were up on the deck above being rail hugger and watching the action.
