April 26, 2013 8 night Magic out of Galveston

As I posted above! Finally another girl around my daughters age (12). Looking at the list, not a whole lot of girls her age.... She is an only child & is a little shyer to just go into the clubs...hoping she meets someone early & will give them a try! :)

My 13yr old is also shy and is iffy about joining the clubs were the 10yr old is adventurous and makes freinds with everyone!! I'm worried about my 17yr old going on 30 tho. Too young to do grown up things and too old to enjoy kid stuff. She feels out of place she says. Do it will prov be me hanging with her!!

DD will be a couple of months shy of 11 so she fits right in this group also! :dance3:

It's so nice to see some activity on the thread! We've pulled out the luggage, although all we have packed so far is the FE stuff. :rotfl: How's everyone else doing in the packing/getting ready front?

My kids think I'm nuts. Trip was sopposed to be a surprise and were origanly booked for the may 10th cruise but graduation plans and testing we had to rebook and oops not a surprise any more. My room is lined with 8suitcases and hanging cases has formal wear already packed! Nuts? Nope just 2teenagers one preteen girls and me!!

To all newbies, they will direct you on boarding to the dining room, but if you prefer to let the kids swim and grab a bite, head up to deck 9 you don't have to eat in the dining room.

Have her try out The Edge, they don't do much "kid" stuff, mostly the teens hanging out together. I believe they will do a midnight PremEar of Iron Man 3. When they did The Avengers last year there was a group of the teens together, and it was a blast for everyone. Well except maybe for DD who slept on the seat. LOL!

Its the shoes that always get me. Walking shoes, dress shoes, water socks... etc Oh and then the costumes and FE. When DD was little she had to bring all her princess dresses, we're down to just pirate costumes. :goodvibes

First time cruiser and Single Mom taking my two children 7 and 4. I've been doing so much research on everything I can find DC related and am so excited! So happy to join this group!! Our names have been added to the FE list. I do have one worry though that you may be able to help me with. For the day at disney world will it be difficult riding rides with only one adult and two children:? I'm worried about one of them having to ride beside a stranger...

I'm a single mom also, and it's no longer a problem now that the kids are older, but I do understand. It kind of depends upon the ride. Quite a few you will be fine on with the 3 of you. Pirates, Peter Pan, tea cups, etc - they will fit the 3 of you fine. But there may be a few where it won't work, in which case you could just not do the ride. Riding the Matterhorn in Disneyland one time I thought my arm was going to be ripped off, because had DD in front of me holding her and my other arm twisted behind my back in the second car holding my son's hand! I wouldn't suggest that one. But most of the rides you can fit 2 kids and 1 adult without too much :crowded:

I've never cruised either, but have been to WDW a few times. We only have 1 child & I can't think of many rides that the 3 of us didn't fit in together! And my hubby is a big 6'1", 250+ lb guy! You will have Thunder Mtn RR & Barnstormer (roller coasters), that are a 2 seaters, but they may let you all fit in 1, otherwise have the kids sit together & you behind them (attached cars).

Before we had our 3rd, I went to WDW quite a bit with my 2 kiddos (9 and 5 the last time I went alone with them). Since your older one is 7, that makes it easier. A 7 year old can ride unaccompanied, but anyone under 7 must have an adult. For instance, we'd each want our own guns at Buzz Lightyear - so my older one would get his own car, and then my younger one and I would go in a different one.

Let me know if you have any questions, I think WDW is easy to maneuver with 2 kids!

:dance3: Doing the Doc Dance!!! :dance3:

Weirdest thing is, they sent mine in it's own booklet and my children in their own booklet addressed to the youngest and 4th person on the ressie DD(10). :confused3

Can someone with FB access please check the FB page to see if the stateroom tour is being coordinated/discussed? I haven't heard any information about it at all, and the spreadsheet is growing but doesn't appear to be being managed. :confused3 IMO anyone can do the tour, but only one stateroom for each category needs to be volunteered for touring.

I'm so confused so any details or information is greatly appreciated! I guess if I don't hear anything I'll have to remove my name from the list and give it up. :worried:

Hi All!

If you are in FE group 2 and haven't already responded on FB, could you private message me your last name? Thanks so much!!

Good morning!

Sorry about the confusion – I was waiting until later to actually organize the tour hoping that we would get more people signed up.

I was planning on only using one room per category. If we have more than one room I’ll pick the one that is closest to the last room or more centrally located. I figure we could start with Deck 1 and work our way up.

How does Saturday afternoon at 3:15 for the tour sound? We can meet in the Atrium since it’s on deck 3 in the middle of the ship.

I’ll post the actual rooms a week or two before the cruise in case we have any more cabins sign up. If you have a unique room or are the only one from your category signed up, then you will definitely be a part of the tour.

Sorry I didn’t keep everyone updated. Let me know what you think of the plan.

I posted on the facebook group, but I think Sunday at 3:15 sounds great! I believe there might be an Art of the Theme Ship tour at 4:00pm that day, so if we start at the bottom and work our way up, those wanting to do the tour can just head onto Palo afterwards. :) Of course, this is based off previous Navigator's, so the time might not be the same for that tour.

:thumbsup2 Sounds good! BTW how will we know the group in the Atrium? I'm asking because there have been times when I've seen the Atrium so packed with people (especially when characters are around) - that it is difficult to see or move around.

That's a good question! I can wear my multi-colored lei that we're supposed to wear for the DISboards meet on Friday. Of course, I haven't purchased it yet, but I will!

:thumbsup2 Great idea!

Would you please post on FB a request for a 4A or 4B on the tour? I'd really like to be able to show one to my sister to see if she is willing to join us on our Alaska cruise.

Thanks so much!
