April 24, 2005- 4 night Wonder!

[

What Shore Excursions has anyone planned? Maybe we could :grouphug: togther for those as well? My DH & I are doing Blackbeards Cay & Stingray Adv in Nassau. Just planning on being beachbums at Castaway Cay's adult beach (no kids, yet), but may change our minds. :rolleyes1

I will also be celebrating a new job!!! :cheer2:
At the moment we are planning on staying on board and relaxing and enjoying the ship! :goodvibes
Congrats on the new job!!!!!! :thewave:
Can't wait to cruise!!!! :boat: pirate:

We received our docs last Friday, but for our Feb. 2004 cruise we received them only 2 weeks before cruising. It may depend on who you booked with. We booked through Platinum Travel ( Barb). Ours were mailed directly from DCL. See you all onboard!! Cathie & The Gang pirate: :grouphug:

We were thinking about taxi-ing over to the Wyndham Resort on Nassau and using the beach/pool but I have not read many favorable reports on the boards about that; the beach really isn't that nice, etc. so we may now opt to stay onboard all day and have a quiet ship. My DD12 and I are doing the tandem parasailing on CC; I'm a little nervous but excited as well.

My DH was ready to book parasailing in Castaway Cay, until I pointed out that you land in the water, and could possibly see the fish swimming around you!!! :rotfl:
I saved $70, which will be used towards the wine package!! :drinking1

I am a bingo player... and look forward to some bargin hunting in Nassau. Last time I cruised I booked some excursions, but found I was missing beach time. This time we plan on dropping my DD off with Captain Hook and Co, and having some adult time in the sun!!!

We are doing the doc dance!!!!! :dancer:   :dancer:

We are getting excited now, can't wait to start packing!!!! :boat:

Thank you again Travis - we received them yesterday . . .and our docs! . . .and our income tax refund!

Our Easter was very nice hope yours was too.

We were also thinking of doing a taxi to the Wyndym - at least it doesn't cost too much if its not that great. Our last cruise we left the boys on the ship in Nassau, so this time they want to get off - and Blue Lagoon seems pricey (especially since our 10 YO and 12 YO are adults in the eyes of Disney pricing).

Can't wait to be on the Wonder!

Just rec'd our docs this afternoon. Looking forward to going over them tonight, the last piece in the trip puzzle.

How fast can 22 days go, till we start our vacation :cool1:

Hi Guys!
I hope everyone out there had a nice and peaceful Easter :)

We haven't received our documents yet, but I did confirm with Southwest and Budget!
We're getting together this Saturday to discuss everything as a group. We see each other all the time, but it's hard when not everyone is present.
My In-Law's just got back from a Costa cruise last week and Jack let me have the pamplets and map he picked up while on New Providence/Nassau.
I am very happy he did!
As far as the Nassau leg was concerned, we were just going to wing it. But I like having a purpose and even though I'm sure it doesn't tell us everything we want to know, only the people who paid to advertise, it's still more than we had!

So if anyone wants to know anything about Nassau, maybe I can help by checking out the brochure and map.

I don't know yet what the teens in our group are doing. We do know that the kids aged from 8-12 (and the younger ones) are signing up for the kids' clubs and then when we get aboard we'll figure it out from there. The 8-12 are going to be able to check themselves in and out of the clubs.

Excursions: My family is signed up for the Eco-tour (jetski tour of the island).
We want to do the banana boat, but we'll wait until we get on the boat to sign up, see what's left.
Since we've never cruised before (as a family, Eddie has) we're taking it light and just taking it as it comes - Chillin'.

So I hear there's a cruise meet up on Deck 10 after the Sail-Away Party?
Since we've got the largest group on the cruise, DCL has offered us our very own party, complete with FREE (liquored-up) PUNCH!!!!!

Hi all-
Well, we are getting close, huh?? We are so excited in this house it's palpable!! No docs for us yet tho!! :rolleyes1

Sue- I believe you land in the boat for the parasailing (at least that's what I've been able to gather from these boards and others) My DD 12 and I are signed up to do it. I wouldn't care about landing in the water- it will be warm!! I'm nervous about being 600' in the air but you only live once.

I think we have decided to stay on the boat in Nassau. After researching the Wyndham and area hotels, it just doesn't seem like the beach would be very nice and why not stay on the ship and enjoy the pools being less crowded. We may hop off for a hour or so to stroll thru the straw market or buy some rum.

Corryn- is that true about the liquored- up rum party? Tell me it's true!!

Travis- we need to pick a spot to meet up on Deck 10 during the party- since you've cruised Disney before, where do you think is the best spot?

We are getting excited too!!! Its all we talk about at dinner :goodvibes

Corryn; I saw you mentioned Budget, have you checked out national? We are renting a full sized car for the week. The price has been dropping the past couple of days , its now down to 100.14 for a full size!!!!!! :cool1: If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

We all need some R&R , I am so ready to get away from winter. I can't wait to see Castaway Cay again!!!!! :boat:

The Dickson Clan says Hello to all :wave2:

I'd say we should meet on Deck 10, in between the two stacks on starboard side. (starboard side is port side in port canaveral.) everyone wear your green ribbons and we should beable to spot each other. :)

:moped: Leaving very soon. Can't wait :cloud9: . . . barely sleeping at night . . . all I can talk about to anyone :hyper2: . . . non-disney friends ready to disown me (but I think I found some new friends  ) . . . DSIL almost as excited as me :hyper: . . .driving DH crazy with talk of what we do and about when :confused3 . . . looking forward to my FIRST (yes 1st!!!) :mickeybar Mickeybar!!

Looking forward to meeting new friends. :grouphug: How many have 2nd seating for dinner? Maybe we could arrange to be seated together.

Hi all-
Got our docs yesterday!!! :cool1:
NOW it seems real!!! I guess I can start packing!! Yipee!!!

No docs for us yet :confused3
I am getting worried. I emailed my agent today to see what is up. We are doing a land / sea vacation, so possibly the LAND part is holding up everything?

Jackie- Thanks for the parasailing note. We looked up a site for parasailing and most did say you land in the water, but either way... I still have saved my $70.00 this trip!!! We'll check it out when we get there ..watch you do it ..and next time we may do it!!!

I'll be at the meeting site. I have the ribbons for me and my DD. I aslo have a DIS Pin (lime green of course)

Hello Dickson Clan!

I got a good deal with Budget. (We're going down for 12 days) I appreciate the advice, though :) I've read your post and went to the National Website. National Was a few dollars cheaper, but I have a coupon for a Free Tank Of Gas, so this way we won't have to fill up before returning the car! I got good deal from Costco and I'm part of the Perfect Drive program, so they send me discounts, too, via email.

If anyone else is interested in the Budget coupon, they are in the center of the Travel advertisement magazine they have in Costco. I think you need to present your Costco card at Budget when you present the coupon.

Oh and our TA has received our docs!!!!! She is just awaiting some sort of documentation from the Carribean Beach Resort and then she'll be giving them out to us. I can't wait!
We have Animators Palate the first night and on Wednesday night. That's all I know, though

Corryn-
How did you find out about your dining assignments? I thought you don't find that out until you get your KTTW cards or get to your stateroom?? Also- the current dining rotations on the Wonder are that you have dinner in the same restaurant for the last 2 nights of your cruise due to Pirate Night being on the 3rd night now (CC day)?

Jackie-
I looked up about 3 sites and I have the 2005 Birnbaum's Disney Line Cruise book, they all say you rotate the 3 resturants, then repeat the first one on the last night of a 4 day cruise. Perhaps things may have changed???

--GOT OUR DOCS TOO!!!!!!! :cool1:

Sue-
They added a "Pirate Night" to the cruise sometime this winter. At first, you stayed in the same restaurant the first 2 nights of the cruise, and Pirate Night was the 2nd night. But, a few weeks ago, they changed it to staying in the same restaurant for the last 2 nights of the cruise, and Pirate Night is now the 3rd night of the cruise. Ok, confusing, I know!! But for those of us who are doing Palo and want to experience all 3 regular rotating restaurants AND Palo, this kind of threw a wrench into the works (well, into my obsessive, compulsive, planning everything I can before I go works :badpc: )
So, we are doing Palo on Pirate Night (we have late seating so we will sit with the kids at dinner for a 1/2 hour or so then jet up to Palo) and still get to dine in all the other restaurants. If you want to know how really really oc I am, you have to know that since we have the REAS package, I could make my Palo ressies ahead of time. I had them all set for the 2nd night, then they went ahead and changed the Pirate Night to the 3rd Night,so today I changed Palo ressies to the 3rd night. (If DCL changes Pirate Night again before we cruise, I just don't know what I will do :scared: )
