April 23 Suprise Wonder 3 Night Pre Trip Report

Wow- I have never done one of these so please be kind

The Cast:

Me 33 Tired, overworked but excited DW

DH 35- May go May not go- Not sure he was not a fan of the last cruise( he can offshore fish 50 miles out on a 23' boat yet feels sick on a cruise ship?)

DD 11- Barn girl- loves horses- super smart, sporty and mouthy!

DD 6- Sweet, loves TV and her imagination


This trip was a spur of the moment booking. I finally graduated college this year- It was a goal I worked towards- hard to do with kids and a full time job but worth every late night cram session. Anywho- I graduated on Dec. 12 and got a little cash from my mom as a gift- then i get cash for Christmas and my B-day is in Jan. Now I have all this money and I am thinking about what to get myself- Hmm Jewles, WHAT IS THIS- KIDS SAIL FREE- A little history here - in 06 we took my mom and had 2 joining Cat 5 w/ Veranda. We cruised in Dec- was rough seas and a little chilly- The girls had a great time but DH felt " trapped". I see that a cat 12 is only 850.00- I have this much saved up already so I book- just me and the girls. I figurec it would be a grat mommy daughter trip- except that we have to cruise the week after we are already out for Spring Break- Hey it is only 2 days scool missed and DD has a horse show the weekend of SB. Well I request the days off- APPROVED! ( this is a little hard to believe b/c I work for the school district so I am off the week before as well) I decide to keep this a suprise from the family- so far so good!

Thanks- still a surprise for the girls- DH probably not going. I am waiting on my room #- booked a cat 12 so I know I will at least get an 11 but I am still hoping for a little Pixie Dust!

We are flying in on the 22nd for the 25th magic sailing, we are planning on watching your cruise pass through - maybe at the grills resturant- wave to us!! Have fun!!

So here is the latest update- I still do not know if DH can go but I did book Palo ressie as well as a Rasulhug: ) just in case.

I Have booked a room at The Embassy Suites in Jacksonville for the night before. I figured this way if I am the only one driving this will be perfect- wake up eat a good breakfast and hit the road! I still have no room number-- AARGH!!!! I now have early dining which will be great if it is just the girls and I - we had late dining on the last cruise and we were always so full, tired and the grownups a tad tipsy that we usually went right to bed. I have only reserved bikes for Castaway Cay day- we plan on staying on the bost the nassau day- been there done that and Atlantis is really nice but WAY to expensive- i paid 9.00 for a bloody mary and 10.00 for a hot dog kids meal the last time- ROBBERY!!!

The cruise is still a suprise- The girls have no idea- I am just going to pick them up a little early from school and tell them we are going on a vacation to Florida- they asked to go to the space museum last Oct when we were there so I think that is my plan- boy will they be suprised when we keep going and pull into port!!!!!

Hey, glad to see someone from our cruise doing a pre trip report! I *always start a trip report but am notorious for never finishing

I'm not sure about posting pics as I haven't tried it yet myself. But I think you have post them to a photo-sharing website like photobucket or flickr first. I think these are free sites, you just have to sign up. Good Luck figuring it out.

I can't wait to hear all about your trip. How exciting that the whole thing is a secret, I just love secrets

We are going on a 3 day cruise in November so I'll be anxiously waiting to see lots of pics. We've never been to Atlantis so my gang really wants to go. Ugghh, the price is crazy.

I am sure you will like Atlantis- when we went the ladies and kids went to the pools and the men lost their but in the casino. The taxi ride to Nassau is frighting though- they drive so close to one another! My recomendation is to take a bookbag with some goodies- snacks, beverages etc b/c the prices were insane! Try the leap of faith waterslide- scary but it is a must do

UPGRADE!!!! Cat 9 rm 1054 Well i am not sure about being in the bowel of the boat- anyone have advice? Wow what an upgrade! I have begun the process- buying cruise clothes, diet (ok what ever) and fish extender gifts! SOOOOOOOOO excited now just hoping for Great weather

Thanks for the tips on Atlantis. I would love to send them off to Atlantis for the day and stay on the ship alone to explore and relax But I have a feeling they will want me to go along with them.

And congrats on your upgrade, that's awesome!

We went on a 7 day Western in 2004 and my husband complained of feeling 'trapped' as well. In fact he said it so often, it ruined the trip for me. This is why we've waited so long for a return voyage and why we're doing a 3 day cruise this time around.

Well the trip is still a suprise- my DD have no idea! I am oficially in cruise mode. Ebayed my way to 2 disney cruise pins for the girls- I will give them these as their welcome aboard gift. I think DH may go- I wish that man would make up his mind- He was like, " Do you get your $ nack if I do not go?" I said, sweetie it was a kids sail free so I would only lose 38.00 so do not feel like you HAVE to go! I also finally learned how to post pics ( Thank you so much for my Cruise Meet buddies) so here goes:

It sure is getting close now April 22 can not get here fast enough. I got a fish extender finally- The ebayer was so nice- it is one with two pockets and she is adding a bow onto the second bc I have two DD. I only wanted two pockets bc I am only doing gifts for kids bc my husband still has not made up his mind if he is going or not. This fish extender thing can get expensive though- I have bought all the goodies- now I will just get some candy as well. I have been looking at the new menu thread and getting a little worried- I wish i knew my dining rotation NOW!!! I booked Palo for the last night so i am hoping that is Parrot Cay night. PC was my least favorite on our last cruise in 06. I had the groupre and it was Blah- here in SC my husband catches grouper so mabey I am spoiled on fresh fish. I do have some questions for fellow cruisers though- and info would be appreciated:

How is deck 1- i have #1054? Has anyone ever skipped dinner and just ordered room service? How big of a suitcase will fit under the bed? Thank you to everyone!
