April 23, 2005 Western

Well, I just booked! Last minute, but I can't wait. Just did the Eastern in December, but this will be my first Western.

So what have i missed so far, looks like a lot of catching up to do on this thread!

I better get reading.
:earboy2:

I have started to pack. My boys and hubby are all set with clothes. I have to make a trip out to the outlets and get a few things for myself. As exciting as this is, the two weeks before are stressful as I try to get everything ready. We usually travel in the summer, this is much harder to do when I am working full time too!!

Hey Yankee, I hear all that about the packing, I HAVE to do it this weekend. I'm gonna lay out everything Friday night and see what I don't have. It seems I keep going out to shop for myself and only ending getting stuff for the DH and DD. So I too, am going to the outlets this weekend. Let me know if your definitely going, it would be cool to meet out there just to say hello. I'm also going to the dollar store this weekend, the one by Home Goods on 347. They have everything in there. I have to pick up the over the door shoe holder, (great for all the bathroom stuff), and also those little suction cups with the hook. They work great in the bathroom to hang up those wet bathing suits. I'm also going to have to pick up the walmart gift cards for the kids club, and whoever else I feel like giving them to, maybe I'll get the disposable cameras there as well. I feel like I'm lagging behind, I have to start getting everything together. I wanted to go tanning and get some color before we get on the boat, we'll see if I can squeeze it in. But anyway, let me know what day your going Yankee, it would be great to meet you in person. Talk to you all soon, Linda

17 DAYS AND COUNTING :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Hi Gatorfan! Welcome aboard!

We're also from Long Island. Me (35), Dh (37), DS (5 1/2) and DD, who we're celebrating her first birthday on the ship! My parents are also going. This is DH& my 3rd DCL, DS's 2nd and technically DD's first but I was pregnant with her last time, so I guess it makes it her 1 1/2 cruise ;)

I haven't even begun to pack. But I am a terrible procrastinator! We are leaving for the weekend to NJ for a wedding tommorrow and I STILL don't have an outfit for the wedding! And here I am on the Disboards instead of shopping LOL

We're coming from Ontario Canada and there's myself (41), DH(40) and 2 DD's 12 & 8. We are travelling with my husband's cousin and his family who live in California...can't remember their ages (around 39 & 43..i think) and their DS who's 11.
It sounds like a great bunch of people who have a lot of disney cruise experience. I want to say thank you :cheer2: for all of the advice that everyone has been giving, it will definitely make it a lot smoother for us first timers :teeth: :wave2:

Starting to think that maybe DH(26) and I(26) are the only non-parents. :) Shocker.

Hey Gator, Welcome. We are from Miller Place, New York (thats on Long Island). This is our second cruise, last year was the Western. Might I suggest that we include our room numbers in the role call, and what seating we have, that might make it a little easier for us all to meet up, if not at the DIS meet.
Linda (DM), Jerry (DH), Gina (DD) age 9 (10 in June). Our room is on deck 2 number 2546, and we have late seating. Talk to you all soon, Linda

Welcome Gator. We are also from Long Island (Mt. Sinai). It is me, DH, and two DS 15 & 11. We are traveling with three other families. There are 7 other kids traveling with us -- girls 16, 12, 10, 7 and boys 16, 14, and 11. We are in cabin 7008 are friends are next door. One of the families is on deck 2 in connecting cabins. We are also at late seating. Sillysmom - will let you know about outlets. Not sure when I am going. Maybe Friday night. My friend has to get a dress for formal night and I wanted to get sandals and some more shorts. My son has baseball on Saturday and lacrosse on Sunday so I will have to fit it in. I also have to grade papers because 3rd quarter is ending tomorrow and I have to do grades over the weekend -- so the short answer is I will let you know when I am going -- would love to see you there.

We are in room 7040 with me (48), dh (46), DD 16 and DD 13. We have early seating. We are also traveling with 2 other families ...one in a connecting cabin to ours and they have 2 dd's aged 17 and 14. The other family is on deck 2 with two dd's aged 15 and 11. Our youngest dd's best friend and her family are also going. We also know 2 other families going on this cruise. Can't wait but have not started packing yet!!

Hey Megakat:

It's your long-lost cousin-in-law, wife, and son reporting in. Time to get packed. Can't wait. See you in 2 weeks.

 :cool1: :wave2:

Welcome Goofydude and Bigleaf!

We're in main seating (after being waitlisted for months! Yippee!)

Does any one want to make up a list we can post here with everyone in one spot? This way, we can refer to everyone at once. We can put username, family members, stateroom, seating etc? I can do it if everyone is interested.

Hey All, Just Wondering, Who Else Besides Us Is Flying In Saturday Morning. If So Where Are You Flying From, And What Time Do You Arrive In Orlando. Our Flight Leaves From Long Island's Macarthur Airport, Leaves At 6:55 A.m. And Arrives At 9:30 A.m.

We are another family from New Hampshire. There's my husband Steve(42) and I am Debbie(43). My children are David, Linda, and Jim (all 10 1/2). We are in room 8536 and main seating, which I assume is early seating. This is a first cruise for my kids and the second for the adults. For our 20th last year, we went on an Alaskan cruise - had so much fun we decided to take the kids since we left them at home last time. I just hope my daughter doesn't get seasick!
