April 23, 2005 Western

Disneyjunkie...typically the all ashore is at 8:00am and you get a notice left for you in your stateroom about how/when the tenders are available....it is easy to do. Last year all of us who were doing the stingray city excursion went to the Walt Disney Theater (if i remember correctly) and you receive a tender ticket and then proceed down to the tender. It really was quick. You should have no problem making an early excursion.

HEY ALL! Hi Webmomom, welcome. I saw that your celebrating your anniversary on board. SO ARE WE. We will be celebrating our 15th on April 27. When is your anniversary? Talk to you soon!

The actual date is April 11, but will be celebrating it in this cruise. This is our gift to each other.

Hi Jillie:

Don't want to hijack your thread...just wanted to say "hi" after "meeting" you this weekend at the tournament! How did your girls' teams do? Unfortunately we went 0-4. Not a fun way to end the season.

Thanks for the info on Paradise Beach also. Looks like we're going to go for that one. Now, I just have to figure out all the other excursions we want to do!

See you!
Sammy

Hi Sammy...it put a smile on my face to see your "name!" It was so much fun to talk with you about cruising...maybe we will see you soon on DCL!!
Our team did really well...went 3-1. No complaints here. Sorry about that double OT loss...we saw your team play and were cheering you all on.
See you soon!

Hi beachladiie.....you sound like you will fit right in with all of the other teen girls. Welcome!

Hi all.......greetings from Smithtown!

I am so glad I found this thread! We booked this as soon as our school district posted next years break. This will be our first DCL cruise. I'm sure it will be extra special with all the people from LI.

We should set up a time for us all to meet.........maybe the castaway party. There will be me(41), DW(41), DD(12) and DS(8)

With all of you New Yorkers, I will feel out of place!! Well maybe not....i actually lived in Bayside until i was 11. Does that count??!!

Hi all! Looks like all us NY'ers are going to "take over" the Magic that week! We're going too, can't wait!

It's me, DH, DS-5 and DD who will be turning 1 two days before cruise. My parents are also going.

We're also celebrating our anniversary that week. We'll be 10 years in March but since we can't take DS out of school, we have to cruise during the Passover break.

Welcome Stimpy....is this your first cruise? If not, then you already know what a great time you are in for!

Yankee914...thanks for making me feel like part of the "NY Group"!

So, what are everyones favorite tips on what to pack?
For me it would definetly be the over the door shoe holder. We found that so useful...held our camera and film, kids KTTW cards(when not in use), sunscreen, and other stuff. It was definetly a spacesaver.

I've heard alot of good things about the shoe holder. I might also suggest extra sunscreen (SPF30) for us NY'rs. In April we will have no base tan and consequently the Kids are going to fry in the first 2 days.....dont want to ruin the fun with bad burns right from the start....

Also I thought I saw a link somewhere to an excel spreadsheet which included macros so that you could plan individual and family activities around key meals/excursions to get the most out of what is offered. Does anyone recall seeing this on the board somewhere?.......I love to plan.:D

Thanks for the welcome!

This will be my and DH's 3rd Disney cruise, DS's 2nd, and DD's 1st, although I was pregnant with her on our last one! This is our first 7 day cruise through DCL.

Wow I just realized....coincidently, DH and I did almost the same itinerary on our honeymoon on Royal Caribbean. (Instead of Key West, we went to Jamaica) Pretty neat since this is our 10th anniversary trip! I'll have to point that out to him. I really want to do the REAS package this time. Especially since mom and dad will be with us to babysit! I may actually be able to get some sleep....I have a 2 month old who refuses to sleep....EVER! :)

Just a comment, if anyone wants to plan a meet, we tried to do it on our last cruise during the castaway party and it didn't work to well. We weren't able to find anyone since it was so crowded. Everyone involved thought it was well planned, but no one found anyone else! LOL We had an area all picked out to meet. We even told each other what we were going to wear, one family even had t-shirts made up for the occasion and we still couldn't find them. (This was on a 4 day in Sept 2003)

Anyone else have a feeling that this cruise will be a sell-out or close to it? This will be our first time cruising with a "crowd", every other time the ship was 1/2 -3/4 full. I'm really nervous about it being unbareably crowded. DS loves the Mickey pool and kids clubs. He would be so dissappointed if they were too crowded for him to go there.
I guess we got too spoiled going on vacation during the year when everyone is in school. I knew there was a disadvantage to DS starting Kindergarten next year!

Bakmmo,

Just noticed your location! We're neighbors! Do your kids go to B-BP schools? DS starts kindergarten in the fall there, he can't wait! We never got a calendar or anything with the school vacations. I had to call on Monday to verify that they will be off that week.

We're taking him out of school in December for 6 days and I heard the school is really strict on family vacations? We didn't plan on taking him out, but forgot he was starting Kindergarten that year when we made the plans.

Yes my kids are in B-BP Hs. Calanders were mailed out some time ago to every resident. I know this because I am on the School Board. Remember to VOTE today.
Were are you?
Andrea

this is just an idea... but i think it'd be cool for the teens to get to know each other and talk thru email and stuff before the cruise..

Just curious....how did everyone book their cruise? We used DU and got a pretty good rate. But I got a quote from mouseears that was almost $1000 less. I was going to switch but was concerned about the security. The TA at mouseears wanted me to send all my families personal info and CreditCard # through regular email. Who did you book with?
