April 22nd 2010 Wonder, Anyone going?

Thanks for the updates. Can you help me understand this whole door magnet thing? It seems as if people really get into and I want to join in on the fun.
I am glad that I do not have to shop for a bathing suit. I am not sure I could deal with that right now.:scared1: My goal is to loose a few lbs prior to 4/22 and I have some from last summer that should work. I have started laying out clothes for myself and my husband, but I really need to have my son try on stuff from last summer and see where he stands. I went on Amazon to buy some gift for my daughter, who will be at home with my mom and grandma. My plan is to give her a gift each day that we are away.
I think that I just found airline tickets this morning and am going to proceed with booking them soon. My next goal is to make a reservation for my son and me for our two days post cruise. My husband is going to Miami for business on Sunday and we will head to WDW. I have been trying to rent DVC points, but I am about to give up on that. The plan is to spend Sunday afternoon at the resort pool and then head to DTD for shopping and dinner at TRex. Monday we will head to MK for the day. I am trying to decided if we should stay at Pop or POFQ. Do you have any thoughts/suggestions. Enjoy your day!!

Wow, well if you can afford POFQ I'd definitely go with it. Especially if you plan on spending a day hanging around the hotel. Pop to me always seems so crowded and loud. Just my personal preference though. I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time no matter where you go, I mean it IS Disney afterall! LOL!

I'm trying to lose a few pounds as well. Not just for the cruise but just in general. I've been doing my elliptical every day for at least 15 minutes although I usually shoot for 25 minutes.

The magnets are soooo much fun! It makes it so exciting to ee your door on the horizon as you walk down your hallway and other people love to stop and check them out. It also gives your room steward one more way of getting to know you! Lemme see if I can find a picture of ours from our last cruise....

That year it was our honeymoon so I did a lot of Disney Couples on our door:

I use magnet paper where the entire back of the paper is magnet and it goes right through your printer:banana:

We just got our cabin number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Are you happy with it? Did you get any pixie dust? I looked at ours earlier today, but we had not been assigned. I am going to check right now. (I just checked and we paid for a cat 12 and got a cat 9) I am very excited!!

I think that I am leaning toward POFQ for post cruise stay. My son would love the pool slide and the boat to DTD seems very appealing. Airfare is now booked so things are really staring to seem real. :yay:

I LOVE that point where it starts to feel like things are really happening!!!

I'm gonna go to Home Depot today and get some mickey mouse paint chips to add magnets too for our stateroom door!

We're ine with our cabin number. Nothing exciting. We got upgraded but not by much, but ya know, we're ok, we're just doing this cruise to try to boost our Castaway club level. We're almost to gold, and it's only 3 nights so we knew we didn't need anything fancy. I'm just happy to know our cabin number because it makes it all seem more real! Plus we're near our friends who are going with us so that is great!

I am glad to hear that you are going to near your friends. That is great. What are the perks for the gold level of castaway club.

We are glad to have the window. We have been on two rci cruises and have had balconies both times and we were not sure about the idea of an inside. We took the chance because the cruise was short, the deal was too good to pass up and we were able to "pay" for the entire cruise with Marriott rewards points. It is awesome. Have you booked any excursions or will you play it by ear?

Gold level perks include:

Online activity planning at 105 days instead of 90, access to new iteneraries and ships a week before the general public, meet and mingle with the officers at a private party on 4 night cruises and longer, special merch offers, and your'eturning gift is different, oh and DH says if you book onboard your discount is better.

Yeah we love balconies, but for this one we booked really last minute and its so short that its practically over before you begin so we figure we won't spend much time in our room anyway LOL.

We're not planning on doing any excursions for this cruise. We love to do them but with our cruising newbies going with us, they want to just relax and sink into the whole "chill" kind of vacation and aren't wanting to end up doing a ton of stuff on a 3 day cruise. We're fine with that. Because the cruise is so short notice for us, we're trying not to spend a ton of money. So this will probably be our 1st cruise with not a whole lot planned.

We'll be there too. Its our first ever cruise and we can't wait.

Our party consists of my wife and I, plus our 2.5 year old daughter. Its our 5th wedding anniversary, so I thought we should do something nice. I thought it would also remind us of our wedding since we got married at the Wedding pavilion at WDW.

We are traveling out from the UK four weeks tmw, as long as British Airways planned strikes don't interrupt our travel plans. Spending two nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge villas and then spending a week in a villa before the cruise. Then its one night at the Beach Club before we fly home.

We would be most grateful for any cruise tips.

Glad to have you with us. I am getting more and more excited about this cruise every day. We just booked in February so we went directly into planning mode. Travel safely from the UK.

Woooohoooo glad to have you aboard Dstiles!!!:cool1:

DH and I don't have kids so I can't give too many tips in that regard. But, we have cruised DCL before so if you have any questions, we'd be glad to help!!!

Ahoy Mates!

This is Sparkie checking in. Room assignment on Deck 5. Looks good. Planning to book the Dream while onboard. Will check on veranda room.

No particular plans for excursions. DD has to do a video for school - part of an agreement I made with the principal to have her excused. Looking at Pirate Museum and the thing with the Junkanoo festival display. Maybe the forts and a walk through the straw market. Anybody done these on their own?

Thinking she can do a Samantha Brown from the Travel Channel thing. Somebody also suggested crew interviews, try and get interview with Captn Jack Sparrow, and having our servers write something in their native language in a notebook for her to take back to school.

See ya real soon!

DH, DS and I are on this cruise as well. The Cast Member discount was too good to pass up. This will be our 6th DCL cruise, and we have a 7th cruise booked for next year (the Panama Canal Repositioning cruise).

30 days from now, we will be boarding the Wonder for a pirate adventure!!! :yay: I can't wait!! How are your preparations going? Right now I am focused on putting things together for my son's birthday surprise/cruise revelation on the 11th. If you have any thoughts for what I might include, please let me know.

17 Days out ya'll! (I'm counting to the Wednesday that we leave NC):banana::banana::banana::banana:

I'm counting with you!

Not too many of us here on our meet thread.... Guess we will have the boat all to ourselves.

For a while - a short while - our cruise was not listed on the disney cruise line website for booking. Then I read somewhere that they were offering a good CM discount for this cruise. Then a few days later it was listed back on the website for booking. So I'm going to ask about an upgrade- I think- if its not too much and depending on what the family thinks after I tell them where we are going. Right now I have 2 rooms which equals - more importantly- 2 bathrooms to accomodate the 2 teenage girls. I would like a veranda room but dont know if I could get or afford 2 and if we do one then the gain of the veranda is the demise of the bathroom. So we will see. Either way, if there are no upgrades available- I'm happy.

So... Now... can I pack my suitcase?

Start packing!!! I'm starting the real meat of the packing tomorrow!!!:cool1:

Hello everyone. I am getting so excited. The cruise is going to be here before we know it!! We are telling our son on his birthday on Sunday and I think that the days will fly by after that. Happy packing!!

Wow I must not have checked here in awhile, the last time I was here we didn't have a thread for us sailors on the 22nd  But wanted to come on and introduce myself...

We will stay on board to also greet the April 25th guests as well and sail with them :grouphug:

We are also going to be on Deck 5 forward (as we have been assigned) so this will be fun! :thumbsup2 We have second seating dinner and our door will be one full of magnets :rolleyes1
