April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

So, Amanda, I assume this means that you have told Emily about the trip. :yay: How excited was she? I bet she can't wait for her real "Princess Party!"

Well, not fully. She knows we're going on vacation during her birthday week, and that's about it. We told her we'd probably go to a beach & let her play, and maybe a pool or two. Didn't mention anything Disney related, she just assumed it I guess. :lmao: Boy is she going to be suprised. :woohoo:

Also, as soon as you board, then you go to guest services and sign up for the tastings and Palo, or do you wait to do that?
My first stop will be Rockin' Bar D to rearrange Palo just because I really, really want Thurs (our anniversary) instead of Wed. Then GS is where you sign up for tastings--this will be my second stop! Justin and the boys will head straight to the Mickey pool while I'm doing all this.

We have docs! We have docs!
:woohoo: :woohoo: YAY FOR YOU!

Are everyone's lime green? Anyway, I filed it all in my accordian file, so we'll be set.
Mine are lime green, too! When I picked up my packet from my TA, she was going through it with me. I asked her when to put the luggage tags on, and she said to do it before leaving home. Good thing I read through the packet well enough because it said anything with a DCL luggage tag will get picked up by the transfer bus at the airport! This is why I'm relying on DIS for all my info instead of my TA...

O H ~ Y E A H !!

MY GIRLS WENT BACK TO SCHOOL TODAY!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I'm thinking that was a source for my stress these past two weeks....They've been home from school! I love my girls:love: you all know what I mean....
Ohh, I'm sure that you're happy today!!! I know what you mean about them being home. Mine are still little, but when they were on spring break, I was ready to wring some necks!! I don't know what we're going to do all summer, but I better start planning some outings or we'll all go crazy!!:scared1:
Questions:
Are the hair braiding Appointments still done right after the deck party and where?
I'm not sure, as we've never done it. But, I think that this year Emily will want to do it.

Also, as soon as you board, then you go to guest services and sign up for the tastings and Palo, or do you wait to do that?
I don't know if we'll do it as soon as we board, but we will do it that afternoon. I need to go to Rockin' Bar D to change my Palo ressie first, and I know the girls will want to get lunch. But, at some point that afternoon, I need to get tickets to the tastings and for the Tea with Wendy. Plus, my mom is embroidering some pillowcases for the girls to get signed.

We have docs! We have docs!

   YIPPEE!!!
Not like it's a big stack of fun stuff or anything, :sad2: but they arrived yesterday. I laughed when I saw the lime green luggage tags - look, it's just for the DISers. ;) Are everyone's lime green? Anyway, I filed it all in my accordian file, so we'll be set.
Yep, ours are green too, but until you mentioned it, I didn't even think of the DIS!!!
About the sea sickness - we're taking Bonine, the less drowsy chewables. I can't find the children's version anywhere. I'm also going to check for Sea Bands, just in case. DH has been talking with some "friends" and they all tell him how sick he's going to be. Uuuugggghh! I keep reminding him most people said they might feel it the first night and that's it. After all, it's a BIG ship, and we're not traveling in hurricane weather. I will take some meds just in case, but I'm not spending time worrying about it. :thumbsup2
3 of our last cruises were in the middle of hurricane season (Sept and Oct) and I have gotten seasick on smaller boats and only felt the movement the first night. Other than that, I was fine and actually enjoyed some of the gentle swaying.

Countdown to cruising!!!
10 days to go!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Someone, Please, Someone Buy Me a Double Strawberry Daquiri!!

I'm there with you Corryn. I don't drink alcohol, just don't like the taste of the stuff, but love virgin Strawberry Daquiris. So does DD. Going to do the wine tasting as I DO like the good stuff when I use to do trade show coordination and the PRESIDENT of the company would buy. Don't care for most wines due to the after taste.

Luggage tags here in NH are also lime green.

Any idea on the cost of the hairbraiding? How often do they do it throughout the cruise?

Anyone going to do BINGO or the ART Auction at Sea?

Just home for today sue to different appointments. Have to go get DD from school for the rest of the day for a 2 hour orthodontist appt.

Will stalk later.

I'm flying off the handle at the kids.
I feel you're pain. I had a classic pre-vacation meltdown on my son Monday night. He had 4 days off from school but on Monday at 5:00 he remembered a project he had for Spanish class. :scared1: :scared1: In the middle of my meltdown, I lost the memory card to my camera. :headache: (long story, it involves a trip to Walt Mart for supplies ...while there I figured I would unload some pictures)

They'll have it in your room the next day - of course, it's not free, but it's not that expensive, I think half of what it would be to dry clean it.
I coudn't agree more. This was the best money that we spent on our last cruise. We will be in Orlando for a few days before the cruise and I know if I iron before we leave home the clothes will just get wrinkled w/the kids in & out of the suitcases.

But seriously, I get depressed before going away. It's very stressfull.
A lot of cashola is being spent, I want everything to be perfect, I'm "One Of Those".
I have list, upon list everywhere in my house. I was hoping to be done with everything (shopping, cleaning, packing etc.) by Sunday night. I forgot both kids have dances on Friday night. DD has play practice (i'm also helping) for 4 hours on Saturday and on and on. I keep telling my family if you're looking for me on the cruise, I'll be at the adult only pool reading a trashy novel with a drink in my hand. :goodvibes

They are predicting snow for tomorrow and over the weekend. That puts me in a really good mood. (I hate winter!!!!)

Anyone going to do BINGO or the ART Auction at Sea?
I'm not sure if we will be going to Bingo or not, but we were playing Disney Bingo DVD game at MIL's house on Easter, and we were wondering if they use that on the ship! I would hope so but it probably won't be, even though it's more fun doing it Disney style! :mickeyjum

We will probably check out the art auction if it doesn't interfere with other plans.

How lucky for all those with kids back in school. Mine are still out! Hudson goes back tomorrow, and Lennon goes back on Friday. I don't know how many times in the last week I've said, "You had better not be acting like that on the Disney cruise!" They're just wild without school! :hyper:

I picked up my new sunglasses today, and I asked Lennon if he liked them. He said, "Yeah, they're your rock-n-roll sunglasses!" They must make me look famous! :rotfl2:

I'm going to be lurking today but probably not posting until tonight. I've got too much work :sad2: and errands and appointments this PM. :drive: Oh, and I am sooo disappointed. Those wonderful black tennie-like shoes that we were going to bring for the boys' traveling and dinner outfits are now too small on Hudson. :headache: We tried to find a different pair last night and struck out. I'll be going back out today to look more.

Hey everyone! Doesn't it seem the shopping never stops? I went to the mall last night to pick up sandals for Casey and bought capris, jeans, and 2 more t-shirts for me and an outfit for Chloe. :scared1: I can't stop. Today I have to go buy Casey a white shirt to go with his suit and some shorts.

Corryn, I know how you feel about this being stressful. I have such high expectations for this trip, because of all the planning, money, and time put into it. I just want it to be perfect. Of course, it won't be. And so hopefully I will just go with the flow and have fun. Congratulations on 15 years, that is fantastic! Casey and I got engaged 2 weeks after we met and were married 3 months after we met, so I know what you mean about getting married quickly. Of course, we were supposed to get married in July. Had the location reserved, had the dress, and BOOM! Chloe. So, the dress wouldn't have fit in July, and we went to Vegas in March.

Amanda, Emily is going to be so excited! I could never keep a secret that long!

Hey, whatever happened to the woman who was surprising her husband with the cruise, I think Dawn was her name. Is she still here?

Jenni

:lmao: That was me. I did surprise DH at Christmas. :santa: As you can tell, I'm still here, blabbering all the time. :lmao:

Oh! For some reason I thought you were only surprising your daughter! I thought someone else was surprising their husband. Sorry! Blond moment before coffee. I scanned all these pages last week and I just couldn't remember. I thought it was so neat that you surprised him.

I just had to comment quickly on our total opposite situation from Corryn and Jenni. Justin and I started dating when I was 16 and he was 19. :rolleyes1 We dated for seven years before getting married (for four of those years, we were inmates... I mean, "roommates"). So even though we are celebrating our 10th anniversary, we've known each other for 18 years (we met the year before we started dating). When I see 16-year-old kids now, it seems weird to think that I was their age when I met my future husband!

I thought someone else was surprising their husband. Sorry!
I think there may be someone else, too...surprise07? They're on Molli's list but don't post much. Maybe just lurking? C'mon out and let us know you're still around! ;)

I know a lot of you guys are celebrating your 10th anniversary....Me and Ed celebrated our 15th on 3/6:cheer2:
We only knew each other six months before we married.
Could you imagine your kid goin' and marrying some guy they only knew
for six frigin' months!

Someone, Please, Someone Buy Me a Double Strawberry Daquiri!!

Lots of :grouphug: 's go out to you Corryn!! You'll make it through!!! It's amazing how stressful getting ready for vacation can be. Soon you be on the Magic and be on :cloud9: !! Just remember that!!

Also a big congrats to you and Ed on your 15th!! I can't wait to celebrate or 10th on the cruise!! We met on a blind date and were engaged 3 mths later. Amazing how fast it works for so many people!!

So very true. I met DH right after I turned 19. Someone set us up to meet at a social event. We did, and dated the summer & fall of '95. He proposed on Christmas Eve of 1995, and we married in August 1996. I was barely 20 years old when we married. I'm like Val, I look at people that age now, and think wow, that really was young, huh? ;) But it did all work out, and I wouldn't change a single moment. :cloud9: DH said he was ready to propose in October, after we'd dated only 3 months - but waited until Christmas so it would be really special. Awwwww...... :)

We met in Nov 95. DH was ready to propose NYE but waited till Valentines day '96. We wanted to get married in Oct 96 but because we wanted to keep it respectful for his parents we waited till April 97.

You know what though. DH proposed, and I kid you not, a couple of weeks later, I got terribly sick. Started as strep, then full blown mono, and I was sick for 1 1/2 months. What a way to start off the engagement! But about halfway through all that, when I could stay awake for a while, I went through tons of bridal magazines, picked out invitations, etc. Had a notebook & started writing, then I'd take nap. Look some more, take a nap. I told DH atleast the worst sickness of my life happened while I still lived at home with my parents, so they could take care of me. :rotfl2: DH does a great job now if I feel bad, but then there's this thing called work, and he has to leave and I fend for myself.

I'm glad that I was not the only one young.......O.K. I was 19 when we got married, but I had been on my own for two years. If my daughter came to me and said that she was getting married at 19, I would probably lock her in her room. My Mom and Dad were just thrilled that I was marrying such a great guy -- and he still is (that is my awwwww moment). We have been married over 18 years - yikes -- I am feeling old. My gray hairs are coming in too fast -- coloring happens on Saturday. Everyone else is getting their hair cut tomorrow.

I went tanning again last night and spent my traditional 10 minutes in the tanning bed. They forgot to tell me that it was a different type of bed -- twice as strong. Needless to say that I look like a lobster......white and pasty to lobster -- isn't that an attractive thought.:rolleyes1

Did I tell you that I had made my last trip to Walmart or any store? O.K. -- I lied. Target this morning and I'm sure there will be others.
