April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

Molli, thanks so much for the great idea of a photo for everyone's dinner outfits each night. We did that last night, so I feel very organized now! DH thought it was great, which is funny because when I tried to figure out my clothes for each night a couple weeks ago, he laughed at me! Now we all know what we're wearing each night. And I did take out a lot of what I had originally put in the pile to be packed! :woohoo: Every pair of pants will get worn to dinner twice (except my two dresses for formal and Palo), and I cut back on the number of daytime T-shirts for everyone, too. I tried on my dresses and swimsuits again since it had been awhile. All that Easter candy MUST go in the garbage or I will never be able to wear them!

The Easter Bunny brought the boys each a Leapster hand-held game so they can have something else fun to do on the plane (he tried to talk me into a GameBoy for each one, but that darn bunny couldn't get me to budge on it! :rotfl:) They will each get a "surprise" cartridge at the airport, too, so they have a new and exciting game to play.

I'm glad I had hardly any work today, but now I have tons of other stuff to do--errands to run (including PICKING UP MY DOCS FROM AAA!), getting all these plastic eggs in one place so I don't have to keep tripping over them, laundry, and more packing/organizing. Oh, and I did get my door signs laminated today, so that feels good to have it done (they're by no means "professional," but they'll do for our first cruise). DH doesn't know about them (it's a surprise), so I couldn't do them this weekend. I'll be back later tonight! Hope everyone has a great day!

1. Pie or cake? what flavor? Turtle Cheesecake

2. Ice cream -- soft serve or hand dipped? flavor? Hand Dipped Butter Pecan

3. If you could have a celebrity chef cook you a meal, who would you choose and why? Emeril. I have eaten at his restaurants and really enjoy his food. Plus, my kids love him.

4. What's your beverage that kickstarts your morning, coffee, tea, or other? Grande Non-fat sugar-free vanilla latte

5. Favorite kid and adult cereal? Kid - Cap'n Crunch Adult - Corn Flakes

6. Wine, beer or cocktail? - Rarely drink, but when I do it is a vodka martini or screwdriver. Paid $11 for a martini at Emeril's restaurant earlier this year. :scared1:  Wouldn't have gotten it if I had known it would cost that much.

OK fellow stalkers - um, I mean vacation friends....for those going on Capt. Marvin's, we've decided to switch our time & go along also to stalk - I mean swim with the rays too. I told DH how many DISers were going earlier, and he said "why don't we go with them?" Soooo, we'll be tagging along too. Atleast that will free up even more time during the day. I'd like to get some shopping in also. :rolleyes1

jenni -- thanks for posting the recipe!!

am i the only one waiting for documents??

ok, i have not packed yet!! i re-installed the Sims2 on my pc and have become a junkie

I have another question in the bathroom do they have those lines that pull out and attach to the other wall to make a clothes line like they do at the resorts or am I out of luck and if so what does every one do to dry their bathing suits?

Cheryl
Yes, they do have the clothes lines in the shower, so don't fret!!!

This is going to be so much fun!
I had thought about asking if you would maybe want to switch and come with us, but I didn't want to force you to spend time with all of us.

Actually, I was just coming back real quick to say I did get my cruise docs AND TWO PASSPORTS! Of course, they were the ones I paid an extra $75 apiece to expedite on Thursday (they didn't combine shipping like they said they would. :sad2:). The website says the boys' should be here on Wednesday! (I'm crossing my fingers!) When I tried to call again this morning to double check that everything was on its way, I was again told that "the computers are down. Call back." :headache: turned into :yay:

We're still waiting on Docs....I called DCL this morning and they said they shipped them out Last Wednesday, so hopefully we'll get them today..

I called TA to see if I could get APL rotation, but they said that since I have such a large party, they would see what they could do...

Does anyone know about an Observation Tower on CC? I just saw a photo on the DCL Pic of the Day thread? I never heard of it....Anyone?

Okay - We'll be going into Single Digits Dance Mode soon!

Anyone up for Karaoke? There's a Weird Al version of a song I really want to sing!!!

Happy Monday -

1. Pie or cake? what flavor? cheesecake or ricotta pie
Are you Italian? Who else besides Italians likes Ricotta Pie?!?!

How about Grain Pie? Ed had some yesterday for Easter

:rotfl: I think it will be a lot of fun, the kids close in age, the women being DIS stalking chocoholics, and the men sitting back shaking their heads at us. :lmao:

Glad your passports came! Our official docs are due to arrive tomorrow. :yay: I'm crossing stuff off the packing list every day, and I made a Wal-mart run during my lunch hour today. Bad, bad, bad idea. I had maybe 7 things, and stood in line to checkout longer than time I spent shopping. It was craaaazy in there. But, it's done. No more WM unless someone drags me in there.

I have kind of a stupid question about the documents. There are these separate pieces of paper to fill out about when you are entering the bahamas. Do we put April 21st?

Thank you,

Jenni

We received our documents today. I will be traveling with my DW and DS. In the package was 4 Bag tags for each of us. How many bags can be checked for each passenger. Is there a weight limit. Your help would be greatly appreciated. THX.

I've never heard of an Observation Tower on CC. Hmmm, I know that you get a beautiful view of the Magic from the Key West Lighthouse, though!!!

I'm super excited that you'll be joining us. We're going to have a BLAST that day!!!

I still haven't even thought about packing. It will have to wait until a week from today. I have my hands full trying to finish this dining room and get this surprise party off the ground for next Sunday. I'm sure that I'll be making trips to Target and Walmart to pick up those things that I need. But, hopefully it won't be too bad, since I have a lot of my typical cruise stuff from last October.

Not a stupid question at all. I've heard that they don't really care what actual date that you put down, but I always put the actual day that we'll be in the Bahamas (Castaway Cay) which would be the 27th.

Unless you somehow got more, there are actually 2 tags per person (it looks like 4, but they are like the airline ones where you fold them in 1/2). Anyway, the limit is 2 bags per person, and there is no weight limit on DCL, but if you're flying then you have those restrictions. And, I've heard that if you do have more than 2 bags per person, the porters will actually give you more luggage tags. There are 4 of us, and we never have 8 bags, so I've never dealt with it, but I know of others who have gotten extra at the port.

My mom is Italian and my Dad is Irish. I look very Irish (white skin and freckles). My favorite food is Italian food. My family could eat macaroni and chicken parm every night. I also love lobster tails, not the fish but the pastry. We used to live 10 min from the North End in Boston. We are used to good Italian bread, pastry and macaroni. We live in NH now. I cringe when I ask for an Italian sub and they ask me if I want lettuce on it.:scared1: I wanted to change our Christmas menu this year but my family was up in arms. They have to have their sausages, meatballs, macaroni and chicken parm!!:thumbsup2

Do the documents happy dance!!!! :cool1: Of course, now that I have them I wonder what all of the fuss is about. :) All there is in there is the Bahamas customs forms, our $75 AAA credit and luggage tags.

It used to be a much bigger deal because it had cruise contracts, forms to be filled out, a booklet with info and the luggage tags all in a little folder type thing. But, now with online check-in, the documents aren't much of a big deal. But, it does make it a bit more real!!!!

Yea, we were half expecting the big huge book of stuff we got 3 years ago on our previous cruise. I just expected it to be filled out already. Guess not. Fine by me. :)
