Soda
Hero
Milkshake

All items you can get at the local Hero shop.....
In The Bronx it was Busco's Heros on Bruckner Boulevard.....

Tori is down in Washington D.C. for the next couple of days..
My baby bird has left the nest for the very first time.
I'm tuff, but I did cry last night before kissing her good-night. Eddie took her at 5:30 a.m. this morning to school to catch the bus. Right now she's hanging out at the hotel pool with her classmates. I do miss her  but I know this is going to be a great learning experience for her on all levels. She's very responsible to begin with, but still - 14 and away from home.
I've been praying for a few months now while saying my Rosary daily that she'll be all right and I've also asked St. Michael to protect her. I just feel very meloncholy right now. Thank God I've got the Cruise to think about!

On another note, Ed works for UPS and he said he'll be checking every morning before the trucks leave the building to see if our cruise docs are in!

I've got my list on the fridge that Molli has made up and when I read your posts, I check the list to try to remember everyone....Okay, that's Amanda and her husband is Mark and they have a daughter......Now I just need to see the photos just as often so I'll have it all down pat before cruise day!

Thanks again Molli for making the list! and I love your little photo story to keep us going!

Awww!!! I can't even imagine, since mine are still so young!!:grouphug: to you that you make it through. And a little pixie dust :wizard: for your DD that she's safe and sound!!!

Pop
Sub (a grinder here is a sub sent through a pizza oven, a hoagie is a hot sub)
Milkshake

This was a serious topic of debate when I started college. What differnet people call different things ... water fountain = bubbler, vacuum = sweeper, pop = soda.

Okay let me know what you posters call a carbonated beverage, pop, soda or tonic?

What do you call a sandwich with long bread, Sub, grinder or hoagie?

Me its Soda and grinder.

We call it Soda and Hoagie, for us a grinder is a hoagie that's toasted!! :rotfl:

We also call it a milkshake!!! Milk, icecream and if you know anything about 50's prime time its PB&J!!! (peanut butter & jelly)

Amy, every first day of school I videotape the girls and ask them how their day went. A few months ago we were watching the videos, and then I turned to my left and to my right to look and see how much bigger they've gotten and I just started crying! They Grow Up SOOOOOOOOOOOO Fast!!!!!!
Thanks for the good wishes!

Good morning everyone!!!

Countdown to Cruising!!!
24 days & counting!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Good morning everyone! Wow, you all have been chatting a lot.

MOLLI!!! I am loving the photos. Especially the desserts. Yum, yum! I find myself feeling all relaxed just looking at the cruise pictures.

OK, my answers to the questions:
A carbonated beverage here is simply a drink. A lot of people say Coke too, no matter what type it is, they still call it a Coke.

A long sandwich is a sub. I've never heard of a grinder, so I wouldn't even know what that is!

A milkshake is ice cream & milk. Preferably chocolate, if you ask me. :rolleyes1

Now, fellow Idol watchers - I see Molli already commented on this, but seriously, Sanjayah's hair? DH looked like this  and so did I. I think it's a shame they are making him look so silly. Really now, who would think that was a great look for national TV? I think they did it just to boost ratings, and because they know people are already talking about him, so they gave them even more to talk about.

:grouphug: Corryn. I'm sure she'll be just fine. I remember going to New York on a school trip when I was 16. It was a blast, and I'll always remember it! She'll probably have a wonderful time, and be back before you know it! Until then, just keep on planning the cruise.

Thanks Amanda:goodvibes

I don't watch American Idol, but I'm sure I'll see his 'do on the news this afternoon! I remember the guy and his sister getting through in the beginning. Even then I thought, Oh, he's a teeneyboppers dream!

I'm sitting here right now eating leftovers from Friday afternoon. Me and Ed went to Red Lobster and I ordered the Parrot (I think it's called) Coconut Shrimp with the Pina Colada sauce.....It's just been sitting in the fridge calling me! I know it's almost a week, but I couldn't bear to throw 10 shrimp away. Remember those Time for Timer cartoons on Saturday morning? He was this little guy, like an egg with arms and legs, and he told you about proper brushing, eating right, etc? Well, I remember one about breakfast, and he said how you can eat anything for breakfast, a steak, chicken leg, egg, sandwich, etc. So I saw the shrimp and I thought, time for timer!

Anyway.....I have been checking out the door sign board and I saw a few of you over there. Has anyone made door signs? I'm gonna get my butt on that hopefully pretty soon! I've been saving all sorts of clip art over the past few months! If anyone's done a door sign, please post, I'd love to see it!

BTW, someone had posted clip art of Mickey Ears that go around the cabin number and they've also posted little hats, Minnie's bow, etc. to go with the ears. I'm gonna print those out, they're just too cute....Anyone else?

I've seen the mickey ears and minnie bow for around the cabin number on the door. Cute, cute, cute!! I haven't made any door signs yet, but I'll be breaking out my Disney print artist software and make something cute soon.

Soda
Sub
Frappe

A little background info....I grew up outside of Boston. As a child, we always called it tonic. My parents still call it tonic and make a face whenever any of their children call it soda. I moved to New Hampshire in my early 20's. I think that's when I evolved and began to call it soda. :lmao: To be honest as long as it tastes good, I don't care what you're calling it. :rotfl2:

Corryn - I feel your pain. Taylor is going on a choir tour to Disneyland. I know that hs is 16 and he is very responsible but it just feels wierd to send him off with people that I don't know very well. I even tried to chaperone, but not only did they want us to pay big money, we could not have access to a car (even at our own expense) or anything -- I would feel trapped. If I am worried this much now, what will it be like when he goes to college.:sad2:

It snowed about six inches here today....just made me more excited for the cruise.

Has anyone else seen the trailer for Pirates 3? It looks awesome.pirate:

I cannot believe that Sunjiah could get any worse. Even my 11-year old daughter laughed when she saw the hair. What a nightmare!!!!

Have a great day!

Wendy

Here in Chicago it's pop, sub & milkshake. I have heard of a grinder but only at ISU down mid-state, not up here in the northern part of the state.

I've made a couple of door signs, not as elaborate as anything I've seen on the door sign post. I made the Mickey ears to go around the door #, hoping I made the right size! I haven't seen the accesories, too cute- I can't wait to see them on people's doors!

Did you guys read the bed bug post?! Yikes!!

We're on spring break this week and just got back from the Wisconsin Dells at a waterpark there. The weather was in the high 70's & sunny!! To wear shorts in March in the midwest is unthinkable!! (Not so for the rest of the week I'm afraid!)

Hi everyone! I've been lurking but haven't had much time to post--today either. One thing after another keeps popping up. Anyway, I'll post quickly before I pick the boys up from preschool. :drive:

Molli--I love the pics, too! Keep 'em coming. (I get teary-eyed because I'm so excited!)

Around here, it's mostly "pop." DH says "soda" just to be different. I'm sure you will all think we're weird, but we don't drink pop (or soda or whatever).

A long sandwich is mostly a sub just because the only real sandwich shop around here is Subway. That was until Jimmie John's opened about two months ago (DH's new favorite!)

I was so mad at myself about Idol last night. I didn't get a chance to watch it until after 10 PM, and I could have kicked myself when I tried to start voting. I was used to it being a two-hour show so voting was 9-11 PM. Therefore, I missed out on voting. :sad1: And the hair...it was REALLY BAD! But like Simon said, it doesn't matter what the judges say about him. He's obviously getting the votes (for some unknown reason). I'm hoping the hair was enough to give him the boot this week.

About the door signs, I'm trying. I don't know how it's going to work out though. I have printed the Mickey ears and, of course, Amanda's. I also had KristineN do one for me on the design thread (you can see it here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=838817&page=122 post #1822). I've got some others, too--an inside joke for DH, green Mickey head from Molli, etc. My printer is running out of colored toner, though, so they don't look the best. So now I guess I need to have them laminated, but I don't know where. I'll probably check at Office Max.

We had great weather here for one day--Monday. It was 80 degrees. That's it, though. Just one day of teasing. It's rained ever since...well, now it's just incredibly foggy and humid. We're supposed to get thunderstorms this PM, but I'm sure we'll get Wendy's snow in the next day or so.

I'm sure I'll be stalking today but only lurking and not really posting. I volunteered at preschool this AM, and it really threw my workday off. Of course, it's on a day when I get a lot of work again. I'll check in later. :wave2:

You know what? Now I want a milkshake. :lmao: Sure, I answered this thread earlier today, but all afternoon, I keep finding myself wanting a chocolate one with whipped cream on top. Uuuugggghhh! Guess I'll have to make myself one later tonight.

As for door signs, I have a couple created, but still need to print them. Right now my printer is in my office, and computer in the family room, and I've just not moved the printer yet. That might be a good thing to do during Idol tonight! I am going to print the Mickey ears out also. I think it's a fabulous way to decorate the door.

Ahem, Molli - I'm still waiting for more photos. :rolleyes1 ;)

Ok, while we're waiting for Molli for some more photos, I have a few from our cruise last year. But, they are the WONDER, but still amazing!!!
