April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

I remember now.......

Val, we're in a little town in southeastern Virginia. About 45 mins. from the North Carolina border. To get anywhere we have to drive atleast 20 minutes. The next town over has a Wal-mart, a bunch of fast food places, and well, that's about it. We have no Target :sad1: unless we drive an hour north or south. But, we do have peace & quiet, and live in one of those places where everyone knows you, or some of your family. Sunday afternoon after church we walked just up the hill behind our house to my brother-in-law's land, he's having a pond built. They've worked on it for over a year now. He still has more to do, but it's slowly getting there. Wanna see?

This is the pond:

So, that's probably more than you wanted to know :lmao: but that's where we're from, and this is what it looks like in our neck of the woods.
Wow, that looks beautiful!!! My sister and her family live in VA, but they're in Norfolk, since my BIL is in the Navy.

Thanks Val! We are literally surrounded by DH's family. It's nice to really know who your neighbors are! My daughter is 4, she turns five on the cruise. princess: It will definitely be a birthday she won't forget anytime soon. We figured now was a good time to take her, while she still believes in the "magic" and she's 10000% in to Princess stuff.

She saw me on this thread a few times, and saw Amy's girls in her sig. She said "Who is that?" and I told her the girls names, and that we might see them sometime when we go on vacation. That was probably 3 months ago, but she still remembers their names, and knows they'll be there whenever she does go on a trip. ;) She doesn't forget anything!

DH gave me diamond earrings to wear on our wedding day, and ten years later, I have not worn anything else. I may seem like kind of a :snooty: to my friends, but I only wear "real jewelry." DH pretty much has me covered with it. Even my nose ring is 18 K with a small diamond, but I was reacting to the cheap stud I had changed to after the initial piercing, so that was a good excuse to get the real thing. :)
I'm the same way though! I can't wear costume jewelry because it reacts to my ears. And, I had always wanted diamond earrings, so DH got them for me!!

Really? Norfolk is about 4-5 hours from here. My cousin used to work on the Navy base somewhere....but I can not remember where! They still live there, but I haven't heard from her in years.

Awww, that's sweet!! Isn't it amazing how they remember things??? My youngest goes with me to the doctor and once they had a fish bowl with a fish in it. Well, each time we go, which is maybe every 3-5 months, she goes right back to that area looking for the fish.

My girls LOVE meeting new friends on the cruise. And, since we cruised in 2005 and 2006 on the DVC member cruise, we spent the time with the same groups of people, and the same kids. Well now, we've seen those people other times, outside of Disney and now they're all friends (from all over the country).

A piercing?

well that wasn't totally where i was going-- but i did recently get that too. last week, on the way home from Taylor's orthopod appt, we had a little time to kill so i say 'want to stop at the mall?' and long story short she talked me into getting my upper ear pierced with her. I too, had double pierced ears, and triple on one side, so i balanced out with a triple on the other side, and the upper ear on that side too. my ear has been back and forth between getting ok and red and swollen. i think now, after a week i'm finally on the up and up with it. it never got infected but it was very tender

sorry men folk, my excitement is all in the name of prettifulness princess: :rolleyes1

ok ok ok, i'll tell ---- i got permanent eyeliner done :woohoo: been thinking about it for a while and honestly having it done for cruising pushed me just that little bit to just do it.

curlybop -- your neck of the woods sounds wonderful..............and looks heavenly too :)

They've lived up there for about 6 years now, and they really like it. I have 3 nieces up there, so we do go up to visit on occasion. And, this past December, my mom moved up there too, so now I'm sure will go up even more. It's definitely a Navy community, but there are some really neat areas. And, when the girls are a bit older, DH wants to go up and spend some time at Williamsburg.

I'm glad you finally told, because there's just no limit on what we could've come up with next! :lmao:

So, did it hurt? There are ads in our paper for a local salon in town that specializes in makeup like that, and I've always been curios.

Yep, totally can't relate. Didn't even know you could do that.

OMG - I don't know if I could do that, is it painful??? :scared1: It just sounds painful, but that's cool that you finally bit the bullet and did it!!!

There is a lot of outlet shopping in Williamsburg too, you know....:rolleyes1
Plus our taxes are a bit cheaper in Virginia. ;)

well my bestest friend from HS had it done 18 mos ago, we went to Vegas last Sept and i was green with envy of hers. it just looked great all the time and she never had to do a thing for it. i have small eyes and i thought it would help my eyes pop a bit at times like lounging on CC beach :teeth:

actually it wasn't as bad as i thought it might be, or feared it might be. she put numbing cream on them and reapplied during the procedure, which took a little over an hour. the gal that did mine has a business out of her home, which made me nervous too; but she's a nurse, real sterile etc. i'd be sure to find someone with lots of experience under their belt! anyhow -- it was ok afterwards, i iced for 20 mins or so. but by that night they were swelling up pretty good. that was the worst of it, very very swollen for 2 days. very very tender to the touch, but i'm just about through that now. whew

Ok, now I have to say that you're VERY brave!!! That's definitely something that I couldn't do. It was hard enough for me to do Lasik surgery to correct my eyes. But, I'm also not much of a makeup girl, just once in a while. I can't wait to see it, though. So, if I'm staring at your eyes when we meet, you'll know why. :lmao:

 I'm so embarrassed. Here I am a thread stalker, and I don't even know how to work the boards. I'm trying to work...stalk...work...stalk, and I didn't even see that another page had been added. My post was the last one (on the previous page), and I kept refreshing, but no one was posting anything, even though everyone's green lights were on! I kept thinking, "Where is everyone?!?!?!" Duh. Page 45.

Anyway, Amanda, what is your DD name? I have shown Emily and Madison's picture to the boys and they are excited to play together sometime (and maybe do Stingray City together too--Amy, have you booked yet? DH thought it sounded perfect for us, too!). I'll have to go back to your photos and show them to the boys so they get familiar with her, too. When is her birthday? What a great present!

And Molli--way to go on the piercing and the eyeliner! Can't wait to see them!

Now it's page 46! I'm really getting behind...

See, and now we're onto page 46!!! :rotfl2: And, I just realized that with all of my thread-stalking today, I just hit over 6,000 posts!!! :cheer2:

I have booked the Stingray City tour. I did the short excursion for 8:30am for all of us. And, I just put in the comments that one of mine was under 4, so she's free.

We're going to have quite a few birthdays on this cruise, because my DHs is the 22nd, I think that Amanda's DDs is the 24th, and Madison's is the 28th.

Way to go on the 6000 posts! :dance3:

Do you know if they have more than one boat going out at the same time or not? If I book at 8:30 AM, will there be a chance of not being together? I should probably book it tonight. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a party for almost every day! party: Our anniversary is the 26th. Anyone celebrating anything on the other days?

They do have more than one boat, but just put on your reservation, in the comments that you want to be on the same one as the Rodgers Family. We did this back in 2003 and they had us all on one boat.
