I am more of a stalker, but I do not mind posting. This thread is really humming. I decided to check in during a late lunch, and there are pages after pages to catch up on and I was just here two days ago.


As for reality shows, I am in the minority, I can not watch them. My daughter likes Idol and the dance one. Not the one with the stars, the one with the up and coming dancers.


As for tools. We just bought a 2nd house on a lake. Sounds nice huh. Well lets just say it needs work. I have ripped out and resheetrocked a couple of rooms. I am redoing two of the bathrooms. I need to to redo the flashing around many of the skylights, etc. etc. Therefore I need tools!!! My wife's family owns a hardware store so I can usually get some pretty good deals. It is amazing how much easier a job is, when you have the right tools.

I need to get back to work. I'll stalk later tonight. Just thought I would add a guys post along with Bluefalconer.

Bugdozer--What an amazing comeback he has had! I'm glad to hear he's doing so well and will be cruising with us. I couldn't imagine having a child go through that. My DH was diagnosed with cancer 18 months ago, and that was incredibly difficult, too. Slinky sure is lucky to have such a great friend. Some people tend to shy away when an illness hits when what is needed most is a true friend. Kudos to you all!

Dadlvsdisney - Glad you could stop by & chat! Skylights huh? I'd love to have some in our house. But the thought of DH ripping into the roof, and the possibilities of rain until he gets the job done always keep me from pursuing that idea.

There was something else I was going to say, but I forgot. I read the part about a Brazilian, and then couldn't quit laughing.

I remember now.......

Val, we're in a little town in southeastern Virginia. About 45 mins. from the North Carolina border. To get anywhere we have to drive atleast 20 minutes. The next town over has a Wal-mart, a bunch of fast food places, and well, that's about it. We have no Target unless we drive an hour north or south. But, we do have peace & quiet, and live in one of those places where everyone knows you, or some of your family. Sunday afternoon after church we walked just up the hill behind our house to my brother-in-law's land, he's having a pond built. They've worked on it for over a year now. He still has more to do, but it's slowly getting there. Wanna see?

So, that's probably more than you wanted to know but that's where we're from, and this is what it looks like in our neck of the woods.

Well, sorry, but no, I don't. I have double piercings in my ears, and that's it! I'm just too much of a wimp. I don't think I could wear a toe ring either, because just thinking about something wrapped around my toe like that gives me the heebie jeebies. (shudder) On other people though, they look cool, but I know I just couldn't stand it!

Ok, I only have double piercings in one ear, triple in the other, but it's been SO many years since I've had anything but my basic diamond studs that DH gave me for our 4th anniversary.

Awwww! If I had diamond studs I would never wear anything else either. I keep saying I'm going to get some, but still haven't done it. Usually in the mornings it's basic gold or silver earrings that I grab from the dresser,and put in before I dash out to work. I have many more pair, but don't spend time going through all of them. If I were really good, I'd pick it all out the night before, but who am I kidding, that's just not going to happen!!

Wow, Amanda, that looks great! Seems so peaceful! It's nice that your family is close and that you have a beautiful place to go to. How old is your DD? She's a cutie!

I'm used to the toe rings, so they don't bother me at all. It only took a couple days to not feel them anymore. Same with the piercings. Belly button didn't hurt at all, but nose was a killer! Now I forget I even have it, unless I'm looking in the mirror or if someone says something about it.

They're not big, but they're special since they're from DH. And, I even had them put screwbacks on them, so I never take them out either. I take them out to clean them, but then they go right back in. I'm a pretty low-maintenance girl!!

DH gave me diamond earrings to wear on our wedding day, and ten years later, I have not worn anything else. I may seem like kind of a to my friends, but I only wear "real jewelry." DH pretty much has me covered with it. Even my nose ring is 18 K with a small diamond, but I was reacting to the cheap stud I had changed to after the initial piercing, so that was a good excuse to get the real thing. And my belly button has a gold Harley bar and shield with five diamonds across the bar part.
