April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

It seems like there a quite a few teenage girls. Anyone have a teenage boy? Mine are 16 and 14 and would love to get to know some others before the cruise.

It is almost less than two months. Yipee!!!!

corryn -- did you request a dining rotation? for our linked late dining group i have requested
I didn't know we could request a rotation?
and Thank you for the spread sheet again:goodvibes my FIL's name is Jack :)

and I would much rather a Strawberry Daquiri in the Spa, you know, it being a nice icy drink and all:cutie:

and DadLuvsDisney, I agree...This is a family cruise, but it's also a holiday for everyone:cloud9: and one thing my kids enjoyed so much while on our last cruise was the fact that they had freedom and "alone time" with their friends. There were quite a few times when I had to Beg my girls to come with me to Bingo or something!

And MickeyMania, my DD's will be 13 & 14; My best friends growing up were boys and we had such a good time. There's nothing better than a good mix of different people:grouphug:

One more thing: My DH suggests that we all post family photos so we'll be familiar with each other before the cruise
Here's ours:

I'll get a photo of my MIL/FIL next time....And don't be confused - there's a Mini Me....Mike and Kathy's daughter is my name-sake..

So that's us....where are you?

OHmom,
My DH birthday is April 27, we have Palo dinner ressies the night of his bday. I was not able to get brunch ressies...oh well.

dadlvsdisney, my DS is also in 1st grade. He will turn 7 two weeks after we cruise. He is very social, so chances are they will hook up in the kids club.

alikat, I see that you recommend Capt. Marvins for the stingray excursion in Grand Cayman. I almost booked that (from recommendations on the Dis), but then I found recommendations for Nativeway Watersports and their excursion includes time at the beach, so I opted for that one. Do you know anything about that excursion vs Capt Marvins?

There has been a lot of talk about the Rainforest. What is that exactly? Somebody said something about half price for the second half of the week?? Do you know about that too?

Also,Can anybody tell me how I can put the countdown timer on my profile?

Emily

Good morning all!!! Here's a photo of all of us from this past fall.

DH (Chris) turns 40 on 4/22, I'm 37, DD (Emily) is 5, DD (Madison) turns 3 on 4/28.

I don't know anything about Nativeway, but my DH isn't that big on the beach, so he just likes the Stingray City tour. He figures that a day on CC is more than enough beach for him.:confused3

Nice photos Corryn - now how do you do it? :confused3

I think it is a wonderful idea for a pic of our families so we can at least find someone when we get to the port.

I am also with surprise07 - I have seen someone else talk about the rainforest, taking a shower with different scents than going to change for dinner - info please - I tried to see if disneycrusie.com gave any info - but there was none, sorry.:3dglasses

Almost below 60 days!!!!:cloud9:

I never posted a photo on here before. I tried to post it but it didn't work. I'll try again.

This is my DM, Me, Cyndi (39) and DH, Eric (35). It will just be the two of us. We don't have many pictures of just the two of us.

Cyndibear and others - I heard about photobucket.com, and that is where I went to in order to download my picture. How Corryne did multiples....:confused3 ..... I have no idea, but at least I could do one....:wizard:

I would like to post our family picture but dont know how and cant find a place to tell me.

Hi,

Time to properly introduce ourselves. There are 5 of us traveling:
Me 45, Husband 46(not a Disney fan) son 14, Son's best friend 13 and friends Mother by best friend 46.

We are on a Make a wish trip for my son who just finished his treatments for cancer. He is doing well and cured so this will be a true celebration. We will have make a wish buttons on a lot of the time.

MAW book us 2 cabins a cat 6 for us and cat 8 for friends. We are flying down the night before and hope to be at the port early.

The put us on late seating but it is very important I get this changed to the earliest seating. Need to keep son on his eating routine until he is 100% and late seating is not good for him. Hope this will not be a problem.

We have booked our excursions:

Keywest-electric cars
Grand Cayman- Submarine ride
Cozumel- Royal Dolphin swim-we booked it ourselves
Castaway Cay- the package that includes bike snorkel and float

The boys have never cruised so they are in for a real treat. We are so excited to be going on this trip. To forget about doctors, needles, hospitals and so on.

Not sure how much we will see you all have a lot planned but keep an eye out for the white-not tanned clan from cold New Hampshire. We will hopefully be decorating out door!

62 days till we leave for Florida! woot!!

Alikat, How did you find the excursion with the little ones? I'm wondering about the snorkeling part....people say that the little ones can get off the boat and swim with their lifejackets. Did you do that or did you just hang out on the boat?

Can you tell me about the door signs? How elaborate are they and how exactly do you make one?

yes --- got the PMs -- my DD was overtaking the computer much of this weekend. i will be back later today and update the spreadsheet and post a family picture :) great idea!!

ETA: updated spreadsheet on the way via email

hey all -- just an FYI -- i just got an accepted bid on Priceline for a 3 star hotel in Cocoa Beach for $80. With taxes and fees it's just under $100 for a night at the DoubleTree for us. http://www.cocoabeachdoubletree.com/

just in case anyone else was interested -- i had tried $75/80 bids a couple weeks ago and nothing was accepted. i was kinda surprised it went through.

If this works I will be pretty darn impressed with myself!! I was just getting ready to figure out the pm stuff and then the picture request came in?!

Our daughter will not be cruising with us. This is our "break". Also, a time to just be with our son to do the normal things he so often misses out on.

Wow, this thread has been quiet today!!!

Anyway, welcome to the group Bug!! It's absolutely wonderful that your son has finished cancer treatments and is doing well!!! What a great celebration!!!

Great photos everyone!!! I really look forward to putting names with faces!!!

We booked directly with Capt Marvins back in 2003, when my oldest was only 2. We wanted to be able to go to Stingray City, but the DCL didn't allow young children, and we heard great reviews. So, I called them, and they welcomed young children, and I believe 3 and under are free.

Anyway, back in 2003, we put our youngest in one of those floatie vest swimsuits, but we still held on to her when we got to the sandbar.

So, as our cruise gets closer, does anyone want to think about an onboard DIS meet?? One the previous cruises that I've been on, we've had them either at 3pm or at sailaway on deck 10 (the port side). I think that 3pm works a bit better personally, because then everyone is free to enjoy the sailaway party after the lifeboat drill, but I'm up for anything if anyone is interested.

Also, this is not "mandatory" or supposed to be a committment to the group. I just know that on my previous cruises, it was nice to meet everyone in person, then when doing stuff around the ship, it's nice to see a familiar face!! And, like someone else said, if you or your family are in a game show, or something, we can all give an extra special cheer for you!!!:woohoo:

'morning! can you believe my DDs have ANOTHER day off school today! for FOG -- heaven's sake................

we did start talking about DIS meets once upon a time. Shall we start an official list?

will you all go to Topsiders for embarktion buffet? the weather was really really windy on our last cruise so we went to Parrot Cay so i didn't know if it was hard to find a table on deck by the pool?

DIS MEET possibles:

Embarktion Day: 3 p.m. Deck 9/10 or Sailaway Party deck 10 (or both options)

Monday -- Martini tasting

Thursday -- Wine tasting

Friday -- Castaway Cay family beach - location TBD

For the tasting events each family will have to visit Guest Services on embarktion day and get their tickets.

Pub night at Diversions is another fun 'show' to plan on attending. You just show up for it, adults only though. I believe it's only towards the end of the week - like Friday night.
