April 2016 School Vacation Airfares

jetblue says they are releasing on July 8th through May 3rd! I will be up and ready to book !
How did you get that info?? I am a TrueBlue member, follow them on FB & Twitter and have never gotten a notice about when they are releasing fares. I think last year someone asked on FB and somehow an answer!! It will interesting to see if they have added baggage fees to those fares.

I was about to ask that question on their FB page and someone asked it! I saw the response and wrote the date down! they will extend through may 3rd. July 8th seems weird though, the last few years they have released on a sunday. BUt I will be ready to book!

Ay BWI, I've never had the chance to use Jet Blue. What time does the schedule usually open?

Since the ticket prices and schedules came out 3 weeks ago nothing much has changed.
From my experience, In the past fourteen years, the ticket prices usually go up by about a hundred, two hundred dollars and even more a couple of weeks after they come out.
I also see, "only 1 or 2 or 3 tickets available at this price" on a lot of flights; then I check the seats available on the flights I like and find the plans are pretty much empty.
I guess the low fuel cost doesn't work on high volume weeks and Airline consolidations...unless you live in Philadelphia, PA.
Let's hope JetBlue, SouthWest and Spirit come out with some decent flights, decent fares and force everybody else to drop their fares.
Good Luck All,
Joe

jetblue and southwest are the only airlines that offer nonstop from my location so that is who we go with.

We actually booked for a different school vacation for next year's trip. We have historically gone in February, but those flights have become pricier and more complicated to book something we can swing. This past February, we booked separate one ways from BOS to Reagan, stayed overnight, and flew out early the next morning to Orlando. This was strangely cheaper than booking as a roundtrip with a stop. When we saw Christmas week fares in the summer price range, we jumped on them! (Return fare was 127 to Boston nonstop! I actually can't even find that for this summer). What helped is that we can do Wed. Flights Christmas vacation. It is the Saturday to Saturday that really kills it!
