How about a split stay...few nights deluxe and few nights Cabana Bay.

No budget is not an issue.
I have looked at Portofino but I wondered if it would be too boring of a resort for a Teen.

I was just looking at Cabana Bay it as newer resort vs what we felt was worn out rooms at HRH.

the Ritz Carlton is only about 6 miles from the parks.
i've never had a bad stay there.

look at the onsite hotels of pbh and rpr and check out their pictures and amenities.
if you don't get a feel for either one, go with the Ritz.

We've stay at the Ritz & Waldorf Astoria in the past and enjoyed our stay but we are looking for an onsite hotel to be able to walk to the parks and around Citywalk.

Have the bathrooms been renovated as well? Being in the medical field we are both germaphobes. The shower and bath was subpar in our room at Hard rock. There was no way anyone was taking a bath after I bent over while filing the tub and noticed rust and mold under the bar in the shower. There was also mildew in the grout...not a "deluxe" bathroom at all.

No, the bathrooms were not ripped out. Cabana Bay should be in better shape as far as bathroom mould goes. Or you could just stick to showering.

yes they are.

all the rooms are being redone.

some of the bathrooms will have shower only while others will have shower and tub.
