April 2013 Car Rental Discount Thread

Thanks for the SW code. Unfortunately, our week in April is still over $500.00 with Alamo. We've booked with Dollar for 251.00 using the KISS2 code.

If you use these codes at Budget but call instead of reserve online, you get an additional $40 off when you return the car. This is the cheapest I've found for a minivan for April 10-19.

BCD X474200

coupon MUPZ044

Just wanted to remind you that the MUPZ044 coupon is for AARP, which I do belong to. ...and you are correct, it is for $40. when you return the car.

GEEEZ...where are the great rates for this year like I got for our last trip?
Guess I should be thankful for the deals we HAVE gotten in the past.

April 19-23...showing crazy rates. :eek::eek::eek:

I agree. I'm seeing good rates with Alamo on the May thread, but for April (not Easter week) the rates are sky high! By adjusting my time window 3 hours the rate increased over $200. Dollar and Thrifty have dropped a bit for April. I think Alamo will be out of the question for us this trip!

This one seems to still work with the KLM code.

"Website is having trouble, so they are giving out $20 off discount codes for weeklies.

I used the above coupon code NWEBCPN027 along with contract ID for Emerald Club members, which I am, and reserved through National. When I check out it says I may need to show a coupon :confused3. What coupon would I maybe need to show when using that coupon code?

Thanks,

Karen

Rates are definitely not as good as last year.

I just want to make sure that when you are all posting your quoted rates, are they the base rate or the total cost with fees? I have been able to get some base rates similar to what some of you have posted but the actual cost is about 40% more with all the fees added.

Thanks for posting. Here is what I have so far.

Dollar April 14 (9am) - 21 (6pm) Rate Code RWXW8 for Estimated Total of $380 (Full Size)

Just rebooked yet again! :yay:

April 15 to April 23
Alamo standard
Costco id
visa coupon

$248 total including all fees

Last year I was able to get down to under $200 for 11 days.... heres hoping I get lower! Already shaved about $50 off my original ressie!

Using the code AF13A, I was able to get 7% off. You may need to go through a link. If you search a coupon website, like retailmenot.com, you can probably find the same discount.

That being said, the daily rate was 33.75, which I thought was pretty good. Then the 7% was taken off at check out (94.16 base rate for 3 days). I booked 4/4-4/7.

Will keep an eye out for more deals as we get closer to April. Booking directly through the thrifty website, I can cancel and get better deals as they come up. I'm very hesitant to book through a site that does not let you cancel, unless, of course the deal is amazing. :)

I booked Alamo, April 19 - 28, standard car for $246.77 total (all fees included). I booked through my Alamo insider id and with a visa code. Not as good as last year for sure. I booked on March 9th last year for the same time period for $159 with Alamo, so thankfully there is still time to come down and I hope it does.

Just booked a compact (with one class upgrade) with Enterprise using my Costco membership.
Total cost was $255 for 13 days, April 21 - May 4.

I tried this for my dates, April 12 - 20, and it was about $450 for an Economy car! Glad you were able to get a decent rate for your dates. Hopefully, prices for my dates will fall soon.

Booked Alamo a few minutes ago using southwest code and visa coupon. For 4/27(9am) - 5/5(6pm). For full size for $202. Costco code was same rate

From MCO (Orlando Airport?)

Cause I checked using SW and Visa Code/Coupon for my dates and it's still in $500 area (April 10 to 23).

My 2 one ways booked last may, totalling 275 are still lower than anything I can book on Alamo now. Even trying to re-book the 2 one ways yield awful results.

Maybe in a couple of weeks????!!!

Thank you for the post my just went down $50 and that is reason to :cool1:

Anyone waited till the last minute and gotten a deal? The best I've found is via Costco and Budget - intermediate for $277 all in (9 days). My husband thinks we will get something cheaper if we keep waiting. I'm not convinced.

ThAts a good deal... I would reserve it Now, budget is very good about modifying your reservation online if the rates drop, just do pay at checkout.

Yes was mco. Just looked again this morning from sw website and same dates are still low 200s for most rentals without coupons. Could be just your dates/day of the week
