April 2011 Check-In

We'll be there 4/13 to 4-17!!! Woo Hoo!! Can't wait!
Staying at Desert Inn & Suites.

15 days left for us! Will anyone else be there from the 25th thru the 29th?? anyone up for a meet and greet? :thumbsup2

I still wish I was going to be there :rotfl:Facing down no trips until September is killing me. And now they have to tease me by releasing a Vinylmation that I want at D-Street in DTD on the 22nd. They are evil, evil people.

I should be updating all threads this morning so keep an eye out!

I got you added!

We just came back from a quick trip over the weekend, but we are heading back this week 4/6-4/8 for an really quick impromptu trip. Just found out there is going to be a release for some Vinyls DH *must* have and I *need* a pin that's coming out on the 7th. Yeah, we are a little crazy. We'll be at PPH(no AP rate rooms left, though!!! Ackkkk!!! No standard rooms either! Double Ackkk! DH just about passed out when he booked the room this morning.)

I totally spaced on seeing this the last time I updated the thread, lol. Were you able to get the Vinylmations your DH wanted? I'm taking a guess it was the Disney Afternoon Duck Tales you were after ;) Wish I could make an impromptu trip for a VM release date. But if I did I wouldn't be able to afford the VM's, lol. I'll have to wait until September even though there are more releases before then that I definitely want.

We had a fun time for the most part earlier this week. I was prepared for larger crowds, but it just made me wish for January crowd levels LOL. My cousin (8) got lost not once but twice (20 minutes after the first time) with the second time being for over 40 minutes and he made it all the way across from Autopia to POTC by himself. It was a eye opening experience. The weather was pretty mild which was great. I hope everyone else enjoys their experience moreso than we did. The getting lost part was a real bummer and I even had safety wristbands made but of course the cousins didn't wear them only my kids.

Leaving O-Dark-Thirty tomorrow for the 7.5 hour trek down I-5....First time at Park Vue - will be nice to finally get my own take on the place after reading too many reviews till now...Using the Touring Plans software...it pegs this upcoming week as somewhat of a lull in attendance between last week and the week following...DL opening at 9:00am supports that somewhat....Hopeful! Trying out Carnation Cafe for a dinner one night for a change in addition to the traditional last-day breakfast....Upgrading to AP's after Tuesday morning's early entry for the first time - woot!....Those darn Tigger Tails better be at least half as good as the hype!....the kids are excited!....so are the parents :)

Less than 2 weeks! soooo hard not letting the kids know were going, ugh! we keep slipping up but they havent caught on yet, thinking about starting a PTR but dont ever have enough time to get it done with them not around....Will try tonight if the DH gets home early enough from work :cool1:

We're down to 5 full days & some change till we leave on the 17th. We'll be doing Disneyland on the 18th, 19th & 20th.

Not too happy about all the stuff I'm reading about it being super busy next week - I was doing well with not freaking out, but now I'm starting to get a little worried. This is our first time with our DD, we are going for her 5th bday.

Hey April!!! Just a reminder as people get closer to thier trips.

I know a bunch of you are going to be there during the 17th-23rd period. Disney has and offer for 25% some quick service dining if you eat at off hours.

Here's a link to my post, click through it to the disney site to print the coupons.

Just got back on Monday. It was pretty crowded but I was surprised the wait times didn't seem TOO crazy. They moved quickly. The most I had to wait was maybe an hour for Toy Story Mania. Indy was never more than an hour. Everything else was 30 minutes or walk on. Not bad! Have fun everyone!

Everyone have a great time! The weather is stunning here at DLR today. :sunny:

SHHHH -- here is a secret all we Disney locals know. You guys won't tell anyone, will you? We don't want the place overrun with guests. :listen:

If you need a break from all the crowds and the noise, try breakfast at STEAKHOUSE 55 at the DLH -- it is WONDERFUL!!! Reservations recommended, but it is never too crowded. The wait staff is very capable, the breakfasts reasonably priced and you get pretty good bang for your buck. On our day trips to DLR, we always start our day there.

AND it is fun to try and identify all the Stars in the 'Golden Age of Hollywood' photos on the walls.

Now, remember, this is our little secret. ;)

4 more sleeps is what we say to this kids! We head that way Friday, check in to our house rental on Saturday and in the park Sunday through Thursday!

I can't wait to get out of here !

We went April 13-15 and the crowds were not bad at all. Using Fastpass for all rides it was available for we only waited in one line that was long, TSMM, and it was 45 minutes. Everything else was much faster. The only other lines of considerable length were Pixie Hollow and Princess Fantasy Faire, but they weren't as long as I anticipated.

The Soarin' FP line was moving very slowly. I'm not sure if it always does, but I was disappointed about how long it takes to get on even using the FPs. To top it off Soarin' broke down while I was on it. Fortunately, it was my 2nd time on it so I did get to ride it this trip. That was interesting. We were trapped in the seats with the CM unable to unlock the seatbelts for a bit. They gave us a special pass good for 6 to skip to the front of a line. That came in handy since that day was Friday so the lines were pretty long by the evening. We were saved it for our last ride for the whole group to get on a swinging Ferris Wheel car just before we headed out.

We are here! Sunday in DCA was crowded but fun. Brunch at Goofy's was good. We did Universal today which was kinda blah honestly. We got there at 9 and were done at 2 there just isn't much there in comparison to Disney. I should have planned a Hollywood tour or something. We ended up meandering through Citywalk waiting for dinnertime. Tomorrow we are going for Magic Morning in DLP and have the Big Thunder BBQ at 11:30 for lunch. Can't wait!!!
