April 2009 Weight Loss Challenge - Stepping into Spring 28.3 lbs lost!

Congrats guys for the losses. I forgot to get on the scale this morning. :headache: But truth be told, I'm a bit afraid.

I've been exercising about 5 days a week, Zumba classes and walking, but my eating has been horrible. I've been having a bit of a wallet crunch this month so I've been relying on eating cheap lousy stuff like peanut butter, and ramen noodles. I'm hoping I break even.:guilty:

I am also trying to quit smoking and went from a little over a pack a day to less than 1/2 a pack a day. Along with dieting!!! Yes... I am a gluton for punishment.

Wow, you are superwoman!!!! :lovestruc Congratulations on your weightloss, and double wow considering all the other things going on in your life! :worship:

Can I come and play too? I would like to lose 4 lbs in April. :hippie:

Great job nappingbeauty. My weight is still staying the same, but I'm happy for no gain. My usual weighin day is Friday...so we can always hope. I told DH not to bother making me an Easter basket, this year. I don't need any extra temptations.
As of this morning I quit smoking regular cigarettes and switched to the e-cigarette. Since you can step down the strength on the e-cig. I hope to be cigarette free before our next WDW trip.

Can I play too? :)

I would like to loose another 5 lbs in the next month or two. I've lost 10 lbs so far.

I do 20 minutes of cardio then 40 minutes on my Pilates. My diet has been pretty good. The last 30 days my exercise has been consistent and my diet not too bad but I gained 5lbs and lost it in a week. I think it was water gain and bloating.

Wish me Luck!
Deb

Just posted the updates for newcomers and weight losses known so far.

For those who are weighing in in the next few days, please post ASAP and I will try to get you updated on the first post.

Laura and Wezee, my hats off to you for trying to quit smoking at this point. I know how difficult it can be to focus on two major lifestyle changes at once. Learn what triggers your stress and new ways to handle it and I think you will both do great on the weight loss front as well as the smoking front.

If U Had Wings, don't be afraid to get up on that scale. You have been exercising alot and I wouldn't worry too much that you haven't eaten alot of balanced foods. Chances are that if you are cutting back for financial reasons, you are probably cutting back your portions as well, so you will just might find that your either maintaining or losing some.

Hope that everyone has a great weekend.

Well, got on the scale today and am feeling awfully disappointed. I gained a pound. I've been trying to be so good about working out, and feel like it's getting me nowhere. I'm trying to think positively and hope that some of it is a bit of bloat and water retention this week.

Here is to a better next week!

Okay, weighed in today. Total for last week and this week (month to date for April) is 1 lb down.

My weight is coming off very very slowly, averaging about 1/2 lb per week. But, they say 1/2 to 1 lb per week is healthy, so let's go with that, shall we? :cutie: I am certainly making better food choices and I'm exercising like a crazy person, so I can't beat myself up too much about it.

Have a great weekend, everyone! :hippie:

Congratulations to both of you! That's fantastic.

Congrats on the losses! I have updated them.

If U Had Wings, don't worry too much, it is 1 lb and there are many reasons why you are up, such as not getting enough fluids, not feeling well, not enough sleep, etc. Small fluctuations will occur from time to time. The important thing is that you got on the scale and know where you stand so that you can make adjustments. I would worry more if you didn't get on the scale when you felt you had a bad week because that is when more than 1 lb can creep back on without realizing. Hang in there.

For those celebrating the Easter holiday, remember, we can enjoy Easter dinner, but we don't have to over do it.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hey, Ron, what is your weight loss goal for this month now that you are starting to work under 200?

3.6/5 but I ate terribly today... I will get back on track on Monday.:)

Thanks for encouragement everyone! Was just peeking to see if anyone had commented on how their Easter went. I was soooo bad!!! We went to the Little Italy section of Philadelphia and went to Maggiano's for dinner! Can we say YUMMMM!! And then of course I nibbled here and there in the kids baskets... (don't nibbles have zero caleries and fat grams:rotfl:)!

Well... today is another day and don't weigh myself till wednesday... so back to the routine! Good luck everyone!

Laura

I was pretty awful yesterday too, but I did go to the gym for a Zumba class in the morning so that made me feel a little bit better.

ok..... 219.8 managed to loose one pound this week in spite of myself:goodvibes

have a good day everyone...

Laura

I don't think I am doing this good this month for some reason :sad2:
bad, bad, bad, Easter candy:scared:....Today I am looking into joining
my local gym I have to get my butt in gear!!

Congrats to those who are down despite Easter!:cool1:

Easter for me was pretty good and I kept things in portion, but water was horrible and I did split a chocolate meltdown dessert from Applebees that evening when we visited DD21. However, my bigger problem came with the 2 days following Easter. A bit of nibbling on Easter candy, thank God we don't have too much and DH brought home a large bag of Doritos, which wasn't a good thing. I was tired those days and it just lead to eating the wrong things.

Needless to say, I am up a few lbs, but fortunately, I recognize what is happening and am getting back on track. Today has been good and I know that if I eat right and get my water back to where it should be that I can take those lbs back off.

Hope that everyone else has some great losses this week.

I have NOT been doing well. I haven't exercised in over a week and have been stress eating a bit.

I had a scan of my gallbladder done last week and they found a polyp so now more testing.

I sort of threw in the towel with all this stuff going on.

I need to get back and keep trying.

So no lose yet here. :rolleyes1

bnhasak, hang in there. Medical issues are always stressful. Focus on your health right now, get some rest and take a walk where you can so that you reduce the stress. You may not lose alot of weight while doing this, but it will help maintain where you are at if are not stress eating. Sometimes all we can do is just maintain while dealing with other issues. Here's hoping that the testing goes well.:wizard:

I was a bit more on track yesterday and water was up, so I was able to drop some of the weekend lbs that I gained. Hopefully, I will be able to get rid of the rest in the next day or 2 so that I can be back to where I was a week ago. That would set me up to lose some more before month's end.

Everyone have a great day!

Hope that everyone has had a good week and are working on some big losses for next week!

I managed to take off most of the extra lbs I gained last weekend and am only 1 lb over what my ticker says. Today, I will be very active so hopefully, I can get that last lb off and continue the losing streak.

Have a great weekend!
