April 19, 2008 - Western - VERY Early Roll Call - Anyone??!!

MassDisLovers – I read about your experience on one of your previous cruises on the other thread that has now been closed. That is terrible it must have made you so uncomfortable! :scared1: I can’t imagine paying the money for a verandah and not being able to use it!

If anything should happen like that to you on this sailing just invite this whole Dis thread up there and we will deter anything from happening on your neighbor’s verandahs!:rotfl2:

Okay, yogibigdog and Massdislovers, you got me in suspense here...what happened on the neighbor's verandah? I am imagining it being R rated. Do tell. I love to dish on the DIS!

Michelle

Yes, DO TELL!!! Was it on Disney? Colleen

I will be starting to do the T-Shirts that have already been requested.
I will need anymore orders ASAP. TIA.

If you don't know what you want on it... Let me know... I will help you out.

OK folks, here's the story (I'm warning you.... it ain't pretty!). I was looking around on the Cruise Line Forum board the other night and saw a thread titled "Veranda Hanky Panky". Because we had experienced a not good situation on a previous cruise (yes, Colleen, it was a Disney cruise ), I decided to read it and see if it was my former neighbors posting!

Well, the whole thread consisted of people asking about what "adult activiites" they could get away with on a verandah. After reading it, I just had to post and tell them what our experience had been when our next door neighbors were engaging in "adult activities" on their verandah. I was hoping that if they read "the other side of the story" so to speak, they might think twice about their plans. :sad2: Michelle, your guess that it was "R rated", doesn't even come close to describing what it was like.

I don't want to take the risk of OUR beloved thread getting closed, for non-family friendly posts, so if you want the rest of the scoop, you'll have to look up that thread and read their posts and mine. It is currently on page 2 of the Cruise Line Forum board (my post is #27) but it will probably move pretty quickly since it's closed, so you may have to look on page 3 or beyond.
:surfweb: All I can say is that Mickey certainly would not approve of what was going on on "his" verandah!

The language definitely pops. Without sounding ungrateful, I'm just wondering about maybe simplifying it. I would love him to be able to read and understand some. He's going to LOVE it! I can't wait to see his eyes light up after he sees a birthday message from Mickey! Thanks Denise, your the best!!!!:thumbsup2 :worship:

Not a problem at all, at all. It's been a while since I've had a 6 year old, though. Help me come up with something to say that he'll get? And did you still want the "Be It Known By All"? Is the font okay? You don't sound ungrateful at all. I just don't know exactly what to say. Help me work out something that he'll love.

Just popping in...

Michelle, what the doctor say about poor Emily? Hope she's feeling 110% now?

Yogi - what happened on MassDisLovers other cruise? Who we gotta go beat up? Yikes!!!!!!!! Just read Mass's reply. Dang!!! As I was taught as a youngster, you can tell some people ain't got no home trainin'!

Okay... back to work for me.

Oh, I'm about 3/4 of the way through Season 2 of Lost. Jack just beat Sawyer's butt at poker. Yeah, I know Jack's the good guy and everything but I'll tell you what.... I'd rather Sawyer watch my back any day. Jack might have an attack of conscience that could adversely affect me. Now if MassDisLover (sorry... can't remember names really well) -- if Sawyer had seen her reaction to her verandah neighbors, he'd'a taken care of the situation. Jack would have just let them be but let's just say Sawyer would have made his presence KNOWN. :rotfl2:  :rotfl2:

MassDisLover -Thanks for posting your response so elegantly! I would not have brought it up if I thought our thread might get closed – Sorry!

Do you have a verandah for this cruise?

I don't know if our thread would really get closed (I'm not sure how that actually happens) but since the other one got shut down I just wasn't sure. :confused3

No, we don't have a verandah for this cruise. I wish I could say it was becuase we were afraid :scared1: of a repeat performance on the next door verandah, but the truth is that we booked with points and we didn't have too many. We had 2 cabins on the last cruise - we were lucky to have all 4 of our kids able to travel with us for a Christmas cruise last year- a category 6 and a 10 across the hall, so we used a lot of points since it was 2 cabins in a holiday season.
So - there wil be no need to call all the Showers of Happiness folk together for potential trouble on my neighbor's verandah this time! :) I'll be interested to hear what others think about my little story, though!

Hi All! Denise, could you update the Hyperlist...we changed our Pirate Encounter in GC to the earlier one...Thanks

Also, got my creative juices flowing tonight...started and almost finished my fish extender! I am quite happy with the way it is turning out. I used stitch witchery and my iron! Look mom, no sewing!

Thanks to everyone who asked about Emily. We tried school today..but she threw up on the bus and then again at school, so I had not been at my school an hour yet before I got the call from her nurse's office! She had a very hard night with coughing...you know one of those nights where we are up at 11, 1, 3 and then 5 and up for good at 6, so she wasn't too into eating breakfast this morning, so I think the meds on an almost empty stomach is what did her in. That said though she did sleep from 2pm to 6pm and guess who is sitting next to me now at 10:20pm watching re-runs of FULL HOUSE! I decided to keep her home tomorrow..figuring it was a friday and she could use the extra day to recoup..and why the heck not go for the whole week off from work right?

Joan: Emily wants to say to Rebecca...what's that? A Hat...a crazy, funky, junky hat!

Have a great night all!
Michelle

I can't wait to get on that boat. It couldn't get here quick enough. I need sunshine and warmth!! Kids entertained, while adults engage in cocktails and converstations. Sounds good to me.

Michelle,
The flu and other various illnesses have been circulating through our school. All of the kids and teachers who have gotten it have been out a week or more. I am sure she will be better by Monday. It probably knocked her for a loop and her little body needs to recoop. I feel for you too. It's tough. You are being a good mom and taking care of her and I am sure you are wiped out. Feel better soon, both of you.:grouphug:

Anyone who booked a category 12 or any gty - please post what you are assigned. DCL should start assigning staterooms anytime now. I have friends in a 12 and I am curious as to what they might get.

Hi, Did someone have a code for rental car discounts? I thought I saw it but can't find it again.

The code we used was for a minivan for 4/16-4/19 MCO/Port thru Dollar is Kiss2, minivan for 4/19 Port/MCO Avis K199060($60.00)

Codes were from mousesavers.com, I will keep trying to get better rate, but Jeremy at Avis(Cape Canaveral) said usually a minivan is 75.00. Anyone get a better deal please post.

We rented one day, 4/19 with Budget through Costco. It was for a full size car and a free upgrade coupon (if available). Cost $38 + tax = 47.02

From what I have seen as far as codes go, Costco had the best rate.

We got the same deal through Costco. :thumbsup2

Hey Joan,

Here's what I came up with for Tyler. Not sure if it's quite right yet, though. Not sure of the language. Got any ideas to make the language "pop" more or something?

tyler_pirate.jpg

Let me start by saying thank you again! I love most of it. Here's what I thought...

Young Tyler, celebrating this birthday is now 6 years of age. Being of age, the boy is old enough to join..... Maybe delete the part: Tyler has shown real dedication.... I like this: Due to his most worthy behavior and goodness (I don't know about that), I hearby induct him.... Keep: An remember young Tyler.... And can you please add at the bottom: Happy Birthday!

Let me know what you think!

thanks for the info. I have now booked a car. I am a little nervouse cause we arrive at MCO at midnight which means driving late and in the dark. If you don't see me on the ship call out the guards!;)

Where are you staying the night before? We are staying at the Hyatt just for that reason. We get in at 6:00 and that is if everything is on schedule and since the kids have school the day we are flying everyone is going to be beat. We figured we would just pick up our luggage and check in. Eat at the airport hit the pool and relax.
