April 19, 2008 - Western - VERY Early Roll Call - Anyone??!!

I was thinking about you all last night - how did the weather turn out? Once again it's snow and ice here..............:sad1:

Actually, most of the worst of it passed to the north of us. The radar was looking pretty dicey last night when I wrote that but I guess I must be living right or something :)

Rainy now and gonna get cold (down to 30) tomorrow morning although the clouds will be gradually cleaing this afternoon. No fair that it gets this cold and we don't even get snow. Y'all share some of that snow! :rotfl:

Gotta run... at work. Haven't forgotten the hyperlist and the t-shirt graphics for Colleen. Hope to get time to make those tonight or tomorrow morning. Forgot that this morning was newsletter morning (newsletter for my website). Even though I try to do as much prep work as I can during the week, it still takes time to check and double-check stuff before sending.

Thankfor the Tip with ABC.com.If I find a spare minute I will try and check if I´m able to see LOST.
I guess I´ve seen everything up to the last season. So I´m only missing the episodes you are watching now. Can´t wait and can´t wait to go on vacation right now, only 55 days to go.

We are cat 12, so I believe that is deck 2.

I will make the nametags... Just let me know who wants them.

I will also send anyone custom graphics if they can't do them themselves.

Fish Extender is going to be good, I hope... First time for us.

I'll take nametags! Are we doing thread names or real names?

Hey Yol! I just got me fish extender in the mail, remember I ordered it from Ebay. Well, it's not actually a fish extender but a hanging Disney pouch organizer thingy. I'll take a picture of it. I'm just going to add some names on it or something. It was cheap too, only $9.00 including shipping.

Question?: If I want to get my daughter's hair braided on the ship, do I have to make a reservation at the salon? I thought I heard they have stations, anyone know?

Hi everyone. Been away a couple of days so just cathing up;)

I think it will end up being Claire & the baby. Remember Desmond had the premonition of them getting on a helicopter and he told Charlie about it? :confused3 The whole show has me in a tizzy. I spend too much time thinking about it.:sad2:
I have sooooo many theories. I cant wait til its over so we know whats going on. popcorn::
Your'e right! I forgot about that!
LOST---please don´t post to many infos here,I still have to wait another 6 month untill we get it.Sorry!
Conny:flower3:

You can make an appointment between 5pm & 6pm on deck 9 midship when we leave Port Canaveral. You can also have it done at Castaway Cay,

I was just wondering how many of us are getting passports specifically for this cruise. We were going to get them, but we dont plan on going out of the country again within the next 5 years. While Im sure this is going to a WONDERFUL, MAGICAL cruise with you guys, it will most likely be our last. We are Disney World people, and just joined the DVC. In fact thats why were going on this cruise. We received bonus points for joining, and decided to use all of them and this year and next years points to take the cruise. We have already planned out our next 5 vacations and they will all be to the World. Now, I have been assured by no less than 7 cms at DCL and DVC that we will not need passports, but I just want to hear some other people say they arent getting them either. I guess Im just paranoid. :scared:

Thanx, Dave

Joan,
I do believe you need an appointment for hair braiding, however, on our last cruise we were walking around on Deck 9 and the station was set up. They didnt have anybody so we asked if they could do DD and they said sure. They took around 20 min. to do half her head. :thumbsup2

Dave,
I dont think you need to worry about passports. You should be fine. My whole family has them because I feel like you never know when you may have to leave the country, but thats just me. Always prepared. :)
I believe the information you have is correct, you dont need them.
I am envious of the fact that you have your next 5 vacations planned out. :worship:
We are planning on doing Disneyland next year.:tigger:

The only thing about not having passports is that if you have an emergency (God Forbid) and have to get off at an island, it will be very difficult to fly home without pasports. Other than that, if they say you don't need them you should be fine.

I just finished my FE... looks so cute... It was super easy to make. Took about an hour with the machine. Now to figure out what to bring as gifts:eek:

Dave,
you don't need them. In fact I argued with DH about it for months because I've been monitoring DHS's decisions on the issue. But we're gonna get them anyway because I have to get one since my BC is MIA, but I have my expired passport from when I was a teenager - so I was just gonna get one for me, but DH wants to get one for everyone, so, c'est la vie.
but the long and hsort of it is, according to the US govt, you do not need them until June of 2009!

I was just wondering how many of us are getting passports specifically for this cruise.

Everyone told me that we didn't actually NEED passports for the cruise either. But we decided to go ahead and get them. What made the decision for me was the idea that the one person in the (Disney) world that might not be up on whether a passport is actually needed or not might be the one that turns us away if we don't have them. I just didn't want to take that chance.

And I don't expect to go out of the country again anytime in the next several years - but then again, I didn't expect to be on this cruise either. So I guess another part of what made the decision for me is the old Boy Scout "Be Prepared". :rotfl:

Anyway... those were my reasons. It's a tough decision, especially with the prices concerned (almost $400 for the four of us).

DH and I missed LOST last week as we were out for Valentine's Day! We did download the epi and need to catch up!! Can't wait - looks like we missed a good one - altho is there ever a bad epi???!!!

This our 3rd cruise. DVC members since 2001. Wilderness Lodge and Saratoga. My family is Myself Pete, DW- Kerry, DS Danny-9, DD Holly-3, DD Keira-18 Months. We are very excited. It never gets old. We started our Disney life on our honeymoon and continue today! :grouphug:

Hi Everyone,
For those of you who have sailed before, does the DCL cash travellers cheques on board or do you need to carry all that cash? I know we have to tip everyone at the end with cash in each of their envelopes, plus excursion money etc. So it would be nice and safer to bring travellers cheques.
Does anyone know?:confused3
Thanks,
Angie

Is the appointment made when you get on the ship? Not at the spa salon, right?

Thanks.

I´m so dissappointed.Tried abc.com and in fact they blocked viewing for international viewers.I guess,I have to wait now untill they start the next Season of LOST.:sad2:

Bye for now

Well, we all went to the PO yesterday to apply for the passports we don't need - but at least I don't have to hear DH's hemmin' and hawin' about "what if".
In other news...

Since DD is too short for the really cool Dolphin swims, we're going to save that money and do it at another time. Xcaret is too far of a trip for too short of a time, so we'll be doing the Dune Buggies!

We also went directly with Island Marketing. Otherwise, DD would have been too young to do the excursion through DCL.:confused3

Count us in for the Yankee Swap, but I haven't decided if we'll be doing the FE thing cause I'm not sure I'll have time to make one.

That's great! :) We should have fun on the dune buggy's. Is is the same company as Michelle and I are using?

I wanted to update the spreadsheet. Are you going to fishlips on the 18th?

Thanks.
Joan
