No, actually, you know how opposites attract? Actually, you've heard of Type A and Type B personalities right? My DH is so laid back he's Type Z.

I'm with you on the waiting until the 19th..... it's worse than waiting for Christmas.

Hi all,

Whew! What a busy day yesterday. Busy at work all day... then last night DS14 had to go before the committee of the troop we want to get back into to ask if he could be back in. He did some stupid stuff at summer camp and was suspended from the troop we were in at the time but had been brought back in on a probationary basis. So now that we want to switch back to this troop, he had to ask the committee if he could be back in. Nothing too serious... stuff that would have been considered normal boy stuff 20 years ago but now in the world we're in ... but don't even get me started on that idea. He's a good kid. Anyway... I was SOOO proud of him last night. He stood there and with all of these adults asking him questions and such and answered with poise and bearing and honesty and conviction and he was such a young man and I'm SOOOOO proud of him.

Anyway.. when we got home, we plugged the computer into the TV and watched some Jeff Dunham spots off of youtube. If you havent' seen this guy, try to catch him. He's a ventriloquist comedian and he's funny as all get out!!! Go to youtube and find his bit with Achmed the Dead Terrorist.

Well he's a pretty lucky guy to have someone like you to organize everything! Congratulations to your son for last night. I'm a middle school teacher, so I know how difficult of an age that can be. He sounds like a very responsible young man.

As far as the Yankee Swap goes, I'd like to suggest this: Anyone coming to the meet who is interested should bring a small gift ($10.00 or less). We will organize the gifts according to adult/teen/child and will proceed with whatever number of participants we have. Those who are not participating in the swap can still join in by "supervising". The only "rule" for the swap will be that you should bring something that YOU would like to end up with. Since we don't really know each other, let's be sure not to bring something that could potentially insult or upset the recipient. Suggestions would be cruise/beach items, Disney items, a small gift representative of your home location, etc. Be creative!

It'll be a great way for everyone to get to know each other. I am assuming that the bar the Promenade Lounge will be open??? If so, we can all enjoy our first "Drink of the Day" together.

I think you're ideas in re the Yankee Swap are great! I like the idea of making the presents something Disney/Beach/Hometown related. I was wondering where I was going to find useful Disney stuff since we dont' have a Disney store nearby. Guess that means another trip to Wallyworld for me. But that's okay... I'm sure there's *something* I needed to go there for anyway

Hey, our meet is at 2pm, right? Our flight lands in MCO at 10:50, am I gonna make it? I would sign up for the swap, but if we dont' make the meet then what? Maybe we'll just do the fish extender stuff (we are doing that right? I feel like I'm going crazy all of a sudden!). Of course, that means I need to buy or make a fish extender, and I am not that crafty!

I don't think it's too likely that you'll make a 2PM meet. If you land at 10:50 and get RIGHT on the bus and go RIGHT to the port and check in QUICKLY, you might, though! Plan to come to the meet if you're there in time, with or without gifts for the swap. What is most important is that we all get together !

Justhat: I agree you made the right choice...while the idea of having a service team waiting on us sounds absolutely delicious..the cost of the upgrade would have been almost the cost of a second cruise for you..why not spend that money getting an additional seven nights of fabulous, right?

Welcome to Weluvdisney5! I would check with Disney regarding your DD. Also there is a thread going on the main DIS board called DIS-abilities or something like that. I am sure there is a large group of people who have experience in that area. I have heard about great experiences on the ship from families with children with autism and the special accomodations that have been made to make all involved welcome, safe and a part of the whole DCL experience.

As far as JustThat's concern about 2pm for our DISmeet @ the promonade lounge...Just to add confusion to the whole thing...and to send Hypermommy into a hypertizzy ...but not to undermine anyones ideas or plans...how bout making it 2:30 or even 3pm? That will give everyone a better chance of arriving, eatting lunch and settling in and not feeling rushed? Yes, no or what do you think?

Regarding the general price of this cruise...we booked this trip onboard in 3/07and found it rather reasonable especially since April is not longer value season....granted we have an inside cat 10 cabin...but this cruise is cheaper than our inside cat 11 cabin a year ago and that was even before the onboard rebooking discount. It is definately cheaper the earlier you book too! Just my 2 cents anyway...and the way our american dollar is looking..that is not a lot these days is it?

It is great that you been to Boston 5 times. I am glad you are cheering for the Patriots! My husband is a season ticket hold and has made to all the home games this year. He would like to go to the Superbowl.

2.30 for the Dismeet would be fine with us.From my experience of the last 2 cruises 3 is not a good time because everybody is settling in to their staterooms and it´s a close call to the safety Drill.Just my 2 cents.

I wasn't planning on attending the meet, just because I have NO IDEA what our day will be like.

This is our first cruise, so while I think we're flying in early enough that we'll be at the port before noon, I have no idea how long it takes to get on the boat, get lunch, find our room, find the lifeboat drill, etc. etc.

And I could never ditch DH to run off to the meet before we are settled.

So, not to throw anyone into a huge tailspin, but maybe we could do a second meet for breakfast/coffee on Sunday morning. when we've all had a chance to unpack and rest?

You don't have to change the meet time for me! Really, I don't want to mess with everyone's plans. 2 is fine. I'm thinking about getting a towncar to take us from the airport to the port, cause I really don't want to take forever getting there. We have late dining and I want to try to change to main so the earlier we get there the better.

Oh, and we booked this on July 27th, so at that time it was $5900 for a Cat 4 gty for 4 people, with my son only paying port charges since he's 1yo. I wish we had booked it last February cause it would have been cheaper, I'm guessing, and I bet we'd have main dining and an actual cabin number.

What if we moved the meet to later Saturday afternoon? What time is the Safety drill? What if we said an hour before drill time ?? Would that work better for our group?

We have Palo brunch reservations on Sunday morning (Key West day) so we wouldn't be able to meet on Sunday.

I think we have brunch on Sunday too! But I figured I would still be game to meet up for a cup of tea.

I don't think we need to change or cancel the Saturday meet. I'm more thinking of a second meet on another day for those of us who, for one reason or another, just can't get to the Saturday afternoon meet.
