April 19, 2008 - Western - VERY Early Roll Call - Anyone??!!

On another thread someone mentioned their hubby got a refillable beer mug. Does anyone know the initial cost of these and what refills cost? Thanks.

I think I messed up the spreadsheet. I was trying to sort it by column A so I could see if my name was in there but now there seem to be a lot of kids that are listed without parents listed with them. I don't know if we're still using the spreadsheet and if we are, I'm heartily sorry I messed it up. 4newtocruise, if you'd be kind enough to fix it (if we're still using it) I promise I'll download and make any other sortings and such in my own copy so I don't mess it up for everyone.

Wow... ain't this a grand way to introduce myself to the group :rolleyes1

Welcome! I'll take a look at the spreasheet. It's still in use but it's been a while since I've updated it.

What are the paint chips for, I forgot?

Thanks!

I'm going to put magnets on the back of the paint chips and decorate the door.

Hi there,

Backgammon anyone?

My DH loves to play backgammon. Do they have sets available for use or should we bring our own? Thanks.

I used to play backgammon all the time when I was younger. I have to say I was pretty darn good too:thumbsup2 Tried to teach my kids a few years ago and I completely forgot how to play:confused3 I have to say it was quite upsetting. I guess I'm getting old:rotfl2:

Well then maybe you and I can play.

I'm starting to realize that this is going to be days and days of just doing whatever I feel like. Kind of like the ladies beach weekend I go on yearly but longer!!!

Sorry guys, I know it's starting to sound old, but I'm getting sooooooo excited.

Okay, I've read and read about what is and isn't allowed in terms of attire on formal night and semi formal night. And I must admit I'm getting excited at the prospect of formal night. As I understand it, it's like prom-wear but something more in keeping with my more advanced years than when I went to my prom :-) The wierd thing is me getting excited about it because I'm SUCH a "tomboy" -- my mom calls me "mannish". But I'm kind of feeling like Cinderella and want to wear my best to the ball.

So formal's actually easy. But what's semi-formal? Does anyone have some pictures they can share that would give me an idea of what semi-formal is all about?

Thanks!

I usually wear a nice cocktail dress or pantsuit for the semi-formal night. I don't get to get dressed up very often, so sometimes I go formal both nights. It's whatever you're comfortable in. We only make the kids get dressed up one night so that we can have a nice family portrait done. Hope this helps. I don't have any pictures on my computer to upload. I'm sure there's plenty on my camera ( I think I've got about 750 on the thing!), but you get the idea.

Can't wait, we're almost there!

Yes it does.. thanks! And that reminds me... gotta get another SD card for the camera just in case I'm too tired to transfer pix to the computer. :-)

Attire for formal night is what ever you feel comfortable in.
I'd say 90-95% of the people do get dressed up and get a pic with the captain before dinner.
The other 5-10% go in t-shirts and jeans/shorts/golf shirts etc, just not formal.

Last cruise we skipped it because it was Lobster night and my wife is allergic to shellfish. (peanuts and treenuts also......)
We had res for Palo that night anyways, so it worked out perfect.

Does anyone know what the menu nights look like this time?

Jeff

Hey everyone.
Just wanted to jump into the formal attire conversation.
On formal night last time I wore dressy black pants and a dressy blouse with high heel strappy sandals.
DH refused to wear a suit because he wears one everyday to work and simply did not want to do it on vaca.:confused3 I couldnt blame him. Instead he wore dress pants with a button down shirt, no tie.
We were both dressed fine. I saw people wearing ballgowns and tuxedos and I saw others wearing hawaiian shirts and khakis. It is truely a personal decision.
This time DH says he will bring a suit, and I will wear black dress pants and a blouse again. I am not a dress wearing kind of gal. :) I will dress my kids for pictures and then they will change and go to the clubs. DD will wear a dress and DS will wear khakis and a golf shirt. Getting him into a suit would be a battle and I dont want that on vacation. It could get ugly.

Just a quick question... when you say "dinner schedule for our cruise" are you talking about the one you just went on or the one we're all going on together and which is referred to in the title of this thread? I'm hoping it's the one we're all going on together becuase if so that means my birthday will be on Formal Night. Just think... everyone getting dressed up in honor of my birthday.

That is the dinner schedule for our cruise in April.

Happy Bday to you :bday: on formal night.

Woot!!!! Now I just have to beg at the terminal or once I get on board or whatever it is so we can be in Lumiere's on formal night/birthday. Y'all keep your fingers crossed for me.

And it looks like we might be in town the night before. I got DH to read some information and he agrees that something like a flat tire or two would ruin the trip so maybe we should go in the night before. We're thinking about the Raddison because it allows us to keep the car parked there and use the shuttle. I know you guys have been talking about hotels so I'm going to have to go back through this thread to read up on your suggestions.

Ooooooohhh this is getting really exciting. We got our passport pictures taken last nigth and are going to get our passports today. Sure hope they come before the 75 day mark so I can give the numbers to Disney :-)

We are from Germany. So please excuse my bad English.

If you want Lumieres on formal night you will need the 5:30 APL or 8pm APL rotation. :thumbsup2
