Just returned from the 3 night Wonder, our first DCL Cruise. We had a fabulous time! The service was exceptional and the ship is an amazing thing of beauty!
We were two adults traveling without our adult children. (No grandchildren yet!) We were in stateroom 6070 and loved our verandah. Ana was our hostess and she took excellent care of us. It was nice to return to our room at night and find the bed turned down, chocolates, towel animals and the lamps next to the bed giving off a warm yellow glow. The shows were fantastic, excellent quality entertainment. Of course we loved the Disney themes and music as well. We're pretty particular about food and we cannot say one bad thing about the meals on the ship. Considering the volume of passengers that were being fed we think Disney did an excellent job with the variety, quality of preparation and presentation. Our servers and assistant server were Francisco and Carlton and we loved them. Our dining rotation was PTA and we had the late seating which was perfect for us. On the first night the ship was certainly rocking and rolling. Francisco wisely steered us toward some of the lighter entrees (the grouper) and desserts and we had not problem eating. We did notice that the dining room was only about half full tht night. Twice during dinner a tray of dishes fell off of a server's stand.
On Nassau Day we took the Discover Atlantis excursion. The aquarium was amazing and the Atlantis resort was beautiful but we missed the Disney warmth and service. We also strolled around downtown Nassau and went to the Straw Market for a few souveniers and the experience. I had been there about 15 years ago and it hasn't changed that much. It just seems busier.
Castaway Cay was postcard perfect! What a beautiful little island. The water was a little colder than we expected but I think that was due to the cold front that had come through during the past few days.
We had dinner at Palo's on the last night. Quite frankly, I think my expectations were set a little too high on this. The meal was excellent but not outstanding. I had the tenderloin but it was no better than the filets that I had at Le Cellier and the Kona Cafe earlier in the week. I ordered my beef medium rare and the first piece I received was definitely medium and on the dry side. (the maitre d' agreed and they returned with another tenderloin that was definitely better.) Our server was Dalabour (sp.) from Croatia. He was very polite but a bit formal and "programmed". I had the chocolate souffle for dessert and it was quite good. Next time we'll probably do a longer cruise and I'd like to experience the brunch but I'm not sure that I'd rush to go there for dinner again.
There's so much to talk about and we're still reminiscing about all of the nice little touches that Disney provides, for example the cast members with the white gloves waving good bye when you leave Port Canaveral, Castaway Cay, and the terminal when you're on the bus to leave. We also had a little send off from the CBR when they walked us out to he bus there was a little steel band playing and they gave us leis and had us walk under the limbo bar.
Sorry if this brief report is a bit disjointed but we did have a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cruise to anyone, with or without children.

Glad y'all had such a great time! We feel pretty much the same as you do about the food. No significant complaints. When folks say "the food was awful," I just think, dude. Different tastes about, I suppose.

Looks like you were almost across the hall from us. We were in an inside cabin, 6075. The one with all the magnets on the door??

I'm sure that we passed your stateroom at least once. We ususally used the mid ship staircase or elevator. I loved our location and would also be happy to take that cabin again. We are also thinking about an inside cabin next time to cut down a little on cost.

I remember the ship rocking hard the first day during dinner in Animators, and noticed the fluids in the glass sway back and forth. A family next to our table was not feeling very they appeared to be taking the pills then. We took motion sickness pills before we boarded I think it worked like a charm. My youngest daughter was concerned with the movement our waiter told her "This is what happens when Goofy drives the ship."
