I have one more question for you guys. DH smokes -- is smoking still allowed on the outside area/porch of the terminal?? Just wondering if he's going to drive me nuts while we're waiting to board the ship :upsidedow

Hi everyone,

I have MIA, sorry. DH is traveling for work (so being single Mom for 2 busy kids!) , I have been busy getting our stuff together for our trip and trying to organize our house (as we are getting ready to put it on the market!). This is making me one exhausted person, who will REALLY appreciate this trip!

Just wanted to say I have been looking at the prices people have posted for the NYC sailings in 2012 and they are pretty high. I am disappointed as I was hoping for a 8 night cruise. I dont think that will be happening on Disney!

Canada is another option, but, that is really a sightseeing vacation, and I really prefer some beach time (and its colder traveling north!!!!- I like WARM!).

ughh... Ok, back to focusing here. New luggage set arrived yesterday. Got to start packing!!!!!!

Ok, I may have to be added to the shoe intervention list - just went to Marshall's and bought two more pairs of shoes for the trip (and I wish that was all I bought when I go to Marshall's - the Costco of the fashion world!)

:rotfl2:

I think I might have a DCL problem, I just booked a 5 night Canada cruise for next year:cool1:. I thinking about re shopping it when we get on board. Has anyone done that before. How does it work. Thanks

How did you do it? it is still not showing on their site :confused3
We were thinking to book Canada cruise too :goodvibes

I think I might have a DCL problem

I know I have a DCL problem!!! :lmao:

Had a really bad day at work today and could use a little DIS love. :sad1: To make a very long story short, after months of worrying whether or not my position would be cut in June, I found out today that it will. Darn economy. It's been a roller coaster week because on Tuesday there was a hint that everything would work out, so I was on Cloud 9 all that day and yesterday... then everything came crashing down today. :guilty: Bummer. I told DH that it's hard to believe that a girl who's going to be on a Disney Cruise in just ten days could be so sad today. :sad2:

Oh Deb, that's too bad. Come here so I can give you a virtual hug  . Things can change between now and June though, so perhaps there is a chance that they can work things out? I feel so bad for you, but knowing you over these last few months, I know that you will be fine and come out on the other side just fine! :flower3:pixiedust:

 I'm so sorry. That just stinks. At least you have a bright spot coming up to take your mind off things.

I also have a DCL problem. Yesterday I submitted a request for the NY cruise for July 2012. Guess we will soon see how much that is going to be......;) I am also going to reshop it once onboard next week to see what happens. I'm hoping it all works out b/c I would love to go to NYC! I haven't been there since 1993.

Oh and thanks for the Starburst recommendation. I will definitely try it. My youngest will be 3 in May but I think she could chew it and not get choked. She already eats up most of her sister's candy anyway.

So sorry, that really is awful. Thank goodness you have the cruise , that will help the sadness.
Hopefully something better is coming in the way of a better position for you soon.
See you soon :grouphug:

You do not have a DCL problem. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:
I just had my TA book the 9/7/12 NYC-Canada cruise for us today - it's my b'day cruise. I'll reshop it onboard to see if it will be cheaper with the discount and extra OBC. I've done this in the past with no problem. But since I booked thru a TA I did have to put down another deposit for the onboard rebooking. Once back home, my TA was able to move us to the original cabin booked with no problem.

If you booked directly thru DCL then you'll have no problem transferring your deposit to the onboard booking and keeping the same cabin.

Been MIA this week. DH being home messes up my schedule royally. His had is coming along nicely, he's just hoping the doc will keep him out of week 2 more weeks so he doesn't have to use vacation days for this cruise.

We've pretty much decided we're leaving here Thurs. night instead of Fri. night so we can see our favorite person at Epcot on Friday. Any excuse to leave early for vacation.

DH has picked out his clothes, now DD & I have to pick our's out. I have piles of stuff all over the house that needs to go south and nothing is for the cruise. Better get on that soon.
Good news...I found my passport today. Had misplaced it since last August, but I knew it was in a safe spot - a purse I used then.

Back to reading DIS.

Wow! So sorry to hear about this..:flower3: Any chance of it not happening? A friend of mine here in MD runs teen court and she was being told that they were eliminating her job. She was pretty upset and then at the last minute they saved the position and teen court.
Good Luck to you!! Enjoy this cruise and relax... :cloud9:

Must be getting close to leaving. I had my hair cut tonight, nails and pedicure is Saturday morning. I got all my clothes out and tried them on...ugghh that was horrible. I am so mad that I didn't keep to a work out schedule and didn't lose 10 lbs like I wanted to. Oh well...going to have to watch it on the cruise. Another horrible thing I noticed last night when trying on clothes - I am White!! Pasty white!! What was I thinking going on a cruise in April? My legs are so white!! Lots and lots of sunscreen. I have some tanning mosturizer and I may need to start using it.
Suppose to co-host a baby shower on Saturday but the 2 year old daughter of the mom to be was diagnosed with cancerous brain tumors at Christmas time last year and we found out today she has to have surgery tomorrow. The surgery is just to fix the shunt in her head, not draining properly. But we had to cancel shower. Hoping to fit a smaller surprise one in on Wed at the kids Taekwondo school.
Take care all!
Debbie

Deb - so sorry to hear that news :sad1: Sending you lots of hugs       My DH was laid off 3 times , so we know that it is awful when it happens :sad2: The last time, it was right after 9/11, we have just bought the house and our DD was 9 months old. It took him almost 5 months to get another job; however, it was the best thing for him. He loves it so much more, than what he was doing before. :thumbsup2 it is so horrible, when after putting your heart and efforts into your job they let you go... I hope it works out for the best for you :cloud9: May be they will change their mind again tomorrow :wizard:

Deb, I am truly sorry to hear about this. You are a bright light every time I come to the message boards. You bring a smile to my face. I wish you the best of luck! Maybe we disboard ladies can help bring a smile to your face when we get together on the Dream. :grouphug:

Yelena - my DH was laid off three times too! All while I was trying to be a SAHM with Connor. Each time it took him longer and longer to find a job, and each time we thought we were going to have to move. First was CT, then Pittsburgh, then back to NJ and each time at the last minute something would come up in MD! After the last time I went back to teaching - figured my job would always be stable (special ed). Then shortly after DH got his current job (2005) and it has been a blessing! Even though he commutes from Annapolis to Gaithersburg!!
Send more well wishes and good luck to you Deb!
Yay! It's Friday. I only have to work three more days. I can't believe it is almost here!
Debbie
