April 17, 2011 on the Dream

When I saw the location of the cabin was way aft on deck 5, I was more concerned with it being over the night club than I was with noise from the kids clubs. But I plan to be in the club myself at least a night or two so I guess it will be ok

Speaking of which, how's the girls night at the club list going? Any updates?

You're right...I'll be bummed if that's a problem. Are you close to the OC too? I've got to find out more about that girls night! :woohoo:

So I went out and bought a folder to organize all of our confirmations and all. I started printing out everything and for some reason my return to MCO Budget car rental confirmation was missing :scared1:. I thought no big deal, I'll just plug in that nice code I found and do it again -- mind you I booked this a long time ago. Oops, code is not available that day so I tried to book without a code. Drat, no cars available. Checked Avis -- holy cow $126 one way rental plus tax. Now I'm thinking about booking DCL bus transfers but looked on mousesavers and tried all the codes for Avis and hooray, found one that gave me the same rate as my old Budget one. Teeny crisis averted .

All confirmations are now printed and safely tucked into said folder with our Universal tickets :thumbsup2. I am fully moving into 'getting ready for vacation' mode. I dragged the suitcases out of the closet and started going through them to see what we need. Now I just have to finish the FE stuff, get DH to the store for some clothes, and get the dog to the vet for his shots so he can go to the kennel. We leave 5 short weeks from tomorrow :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Wow - sounds like you had a very stressful situation, glad to hear it worked out fine. :thumbsup2 Where did you buy US tickets? on line? That is on my "to do " list.

I was going to ask the same question. I only need one day pass to IOA - I saw that Undercover Tourist sold them for $2 cheaper than the gate, didn't know if it was worth it.

I think that AAA also offers a discount for US/IOA tickets. You might even be able to purchase them at your local AAA office. :thumbsup2

Castlegazer-

Are you in a 5E also? According to the deck plan, we are right outside the Oceaneer Club. I'm hoping it's not too noisy with kids coming & going....not that we spend much time in our room but you never know!

Chris :goodvibes

I don't think there would be any noise from the kids clubs at all and my location on deck five isn't above the adult clubs, so smooth sailing for me. Other cabins are above the adult clubs and are reported to have noise issues until 1am. Check the deck plans to see where yours lands.

I am more excited about my location, extended verandah, than anything else right now!! Our folding picnic table came in the mail and we love it!! Its very light weight to carry on board and will be awesome to eat out on on the verandah, one of our favorite things to do, which is very hard normally on the Disney ships given the lack of taller tables out there.

I had started pulling out all the cruise paraphenalia we bring quite a few weeks ago to get it all in one place. Clothes not yet. :yay: .... but soon!

I used the special link from mousesavers to undercovertourist and bought them there. We just got the 2 day/one park passes and saved like a whopping $8 over buying them through universal's site. But they are real tickets and not just vouchers so it eliminates that one step of exchanging them at the park. They came quick and they're all packed and ready to go. The tix do cost more at the gate though.

ETA: AAA does sell them at a discounted rate but only select ones like 2 or 3 day/2 park.

I just checked, they upgraded us from a 8A to a 5E! We've got a verandah!:thumbsup2

If any of you looking for tickets have a Costco membership and plan to return to Universal in the next few years, I was able to get 3 day park to park tickets that are good for any 3 days between now and 2014 (I've read that some expire in 2013) for $139.99.

Thank you all for the info! We are Costco members and AAA members: i will check both options. Bridget - could you please PM me a link to the site you use. :grouphug:

I am almost done with shopping for new clothes: new bathing suits, dresses, shorts, shirts, shoes, etc. - only a few things left to pick up next week using Kohl's cash I earned yesterday. I got 5 dresses for DD at Kohl's last night (I left the store at 11pm:scared1:), hoping that at least one would fit and look good on her. Guess what? all 5 fit perfectly and look amazing! Only one will get returned. Also, got myself a new pair of sandals and flip flops (really cute and comfortable), here goes my attempt to pack only 6 pairs, lol. Deb T - rescue me!!!!!overpacking is guaranteed at this point :lmao:
Still looking for new sunglasses. Funny story is: I got two pairs - one from Kohl's, Vera Wang, final price $18; another one - from Loehmann's, Tom Ford, reduced from $350 to $110. I asked a few people today - and they could not guess correctly which one was more expensive. So I think, I will keep the cheap one :thumbsup2

Master Packer Deb T. will be packing 1 pair of shoes and wearing 1 pair. I'll save room in our carry-on suitcase by sliding my dinner dress shoes inside DH's dinner dress shoes. We'll both be wearing our tennis shoes when boarding. :thumbsup2 I'd be willing to bet my DD will do even better and wear a nice pair of sandals when she boards the 4/21 cruise - and that will be the only shoes she brings! My little grasshopper has learned well. ;)

I so need you here, I could use your guidance :worship: :goodvibes

Bridget - Are you out there lurking????

Just wondering if you are going to the Waterbury/Ridgefield high school basketball game tonight. My DS is begging me to drive him up there but haven't decided yet.

Kelly

:thumbsup2 I usually do the same. I have a pair of Dansko shoes that are sort of dressy so I wear those to dinner and tennis shoes the rest of the time. For that reason, most of what I wear for dinner is black, to match the shoes.

I am so ready for vacation. Within the past month we've had nothing but sickness in our house. This Wednesday I was up with our toddler all night because she couldn't breathe well (congestion). Guess why? Ear infection and sinus infection still left over from 2 weeks ago. So now she's on more meds but slept well last night. Hooray for sleep! :rotfl:

Monday I went shopping during my lunch break. I found Disney shirts for both girls and I plan on attempting to reverse tye-dye some too with the Mickey heads in the middle. Yes, I say attempt because I've never done it before and I have no idea how this is going to work out! I will probably try tomorrow night after the girls are asleep. I think they will look great in shirts with the same design. But as my oldest says, she can not wear the same colors or the exact same outfit as her little sister. That would just be too much!

Where is the game?? Is it Holy Cross? If so, we live practically across the street!!
