I've had a few magnets made by jordak, but the only one specific to this cruise is a B2B magnet. We now tend to reuse our magnets from cruise to cruise so we rarely put dates or itineraries on them anymore. I don't know if that makes me appear frugal or lazy!

I had the same thought. I would get some with our names on them for future cruises then have just a few for this specific one. I prefer to think of it as being green. Haven't you heard? being green is the new cheap.

It was truly unplanned...... on Sunday afternoon we found out that a friend's 4 year old DD was going on her first DCL cruise, so when DW came home she just wanted to check to see if it was an eastern or western. Suddenly she was practically screaming "it's a western and there is an open cabin - let's go too!!!". Since western is our favorite itinerary and both DW and DS were not feeling well on our last 7 night (DS came down with noro virus and was quarantined right after the Key West stop), I agreed to put the cabin on a courtesy hold and check flights, etc. Next thing you know we're booked. Funny thing was, DW didn't realize until last night that she only has 2 weeks to get ready - almost panic mode!

So I guess you're right - we're "outahere" (well, almost).

What a great story! That will probably end up being one of your favorite vacations, at least until your next one

Did you happen to request any magnets with just our sailing info without the names of your party? I have looked at the designs that were already created and found some of our names. I have also requested some name tags from Tom, they are very nice. I have been doing lots of looking and wanted to pick some of my favorite designs to get personalized for our party. I also wanted to see what the designers came up with for the Dream since it was a month or so since I did my research. Some of the designs don't require names, just sailing dates. I didn't want to duplicate any requests of anyone here which is why I asked if anyone had already requested those. I feel for those nice folks volunteering their time and I thought I would do the courtesy of checking in with my fellow cruisers and save them the trouble of any duplication. Thanks for your feedback on your experiences with requesting designs. I look forward to seeing your door!

Hi, I requested a design from Milliepie (who I love) for just the boat name and the date of sailing. I am going to make an FE gift for every family from it.

Since Milliepie seemed so inundated with requests last year, I just downloaded the Walt font and figured out how to use her templates with Microsoft Publisher. I made quite a few door magnets which turned out great! However this year I wanted something special and I cannot design like she can, she is really talented. I also downloaded Pieces of Eight which is a pirate font!

We have a laser printer now though and I cannot use the printer for those projects any more...sigh Hope this helps

KIDS HAVE SCHOOL!!!!!!!! YES YES YES YES!!!! (sorry to yell, I am that excited!). It was a delay, but Ill take it!

So today, based on tips I read, I called and ordered my rainforest pass. The Disney rep was so funny. I told him I was buying the pass for my birthday (which is during the cruise). He was like do you want it to say to Robin,Happy Birthday! I love you, love your husband XXXX? I thought that was hysterical. The Rep wanted to know why my DH was not calling instead! Alas, I explained I am the vacation planner of the family, so I take care of all the details. But, this guy had me rolling! Very funny! (and yes, the pass WILL say that on it now!). Cant wait to see my DH's look on his face

Also went online and finished our check in. I was reading you have to get a time (this is all so new to me, all this cruise stuff!!!!). So, I got a time. The 1st time slot was already taken, so we are there at 11:00 am.

So, if you haven't checked yourself in yet, do it ASAP for an early time!

(thats my newbie tip of the day!!!! Dont expect anymore from me, you all are veteran cruisers with so much more knowledge!!!!)

yes. If you go to the main disney cruise dis page, there is a HUGE thread on it. You need to complete your online check in and you are given a time you are allowed to check in. (apparently very different from the past, but this is our 1st cruise). Glad I read it, as I would of waited until we were much closer to check in!

OMG!!! Tha must be REALLY new!!! My parents were just on DCL in November and they didn't have to do that And I don't have my passport info here at work so I can't finish check-in until tonight I will probably end up with a ceck-in time on the 18th .... this is SO not good...

from what I read you can check in online for him by saying you will have a photo id (non passport). You can either then change it later OR change it when you get there.

I dont have my kids passports yet (they are due to arrive any day), so I just entered my and DH's passports. I will fix it later. HTH!

I'm so glad you saw that!! THANK YOU!!! I was so freaked out I didn't see that you could change "passport" to "photo id". I did it and got checked in and got 11-11:30

I am so glad you posted that info...that is new! I just checked in, it was so easy they had all of my info saved from my last cruise..Disney is awesome!!!
Got 11:00 -11:30 too. I would be so sad if I didn't know and got 3:00 to 3:30.....thanks again!!!

I just went and did my online check in as well and I really do not understand this. I says "Port Arrival Time" nothing about a "check in time". I picked 11:00-11:30 time but our plane gets in at 8:30 so I know I will be there before 11:00. Are they going to make me wait outside until 11:00

I've never heard of this before and as a matter of fact it wasn't there when I checked in at 90 days out. Thanks so much -- we got 1100-1130 too.

BTW my DS had no school again today (Waterbury) and tomorrow is only a half day so what's the point ??!
