Yes, I feel like its ground hogs day as I write this again.... NO SCHOOL due to snow. thats 7 snow days this month and multiple days and early dismissals. But, we are going in april even if they mess with the spring break days. Its the DREAM or bust at this point!!!!! (and all of these snow days are making it even harder that my kids STILL dont know- still a surprise!).

Loving reading about the dream. Only slightly bummed I didnt book a different category. I was so enticed by the virtual porthole, but seeing some of those huge portholes has me thinking about next time

Alas, I wish Disney would announce where the magic and wonder will be in the summer of 2012. Still keeping fingers crossed for a NYC port. I would love to do Bermuda on a Disney ship.... and a bermuda cruise is something we want to do in the next 2 to 3 years.

We normally book balcony cabins, but had to go a little cheaper this time. I thought my daughter might be a little sad, but she's more excited about the inside room with the virtul porthole than staying in the balcony (which my parents booked so I will still get to relax outside - hehehe)

Hi everyone! Just got word that we all can go so we will be on cruise with you.

pkmingo! New people this late! I guess some people cancelled before the due date and cabins opened up for our very full cruise.

I just listened to the disunplugged podcast from the Christening cruise! OMG is sounds so awesome!

Apparently finding the French Garden-like restaurant whose name escapes me right now is difficult. Kevin and John never found it and since it was only a 2 day cruise they didn't have dinner there.

I can't wait!

Good morning everyone!!! Same story different day --- snowed in again . Unfortunately I have to shovel my BURIED car out and get to work this afternoon -- as a visiting nurse we never close (guess we're expected to get on our sleds and have our snow dogs cart us around town ). I at least have to get out to do my new admission which is fortunately on my side of town. Pray for no snow on Saturday, I'm on call 4p-8a .

The school system has so far extended the school year into mid-June and I don't think they can mess with April vacation due to their contracts so we should be ok. Not that is matters -- we're going anyways.

As a daughter with parents in their 80's who have various issues and hospital visits, I consider Visiting Nurses angels from heaven! Thank you for all you do!

My kids are happy about the snow day! We got very little but we got it at the worst time, around 4 or 5 in the morning so they had no choice but to cancel.

Now it's raining and the snow is melting and the roads are clear.

Its the high tide and winds everyone was worried about. The poor beaches have lost so much ground in the last couple of years. Parking lots and walkways washed away. It's bad!

Bright side! The bathing suit I wanted but couldn't afford went on sale! This is my 'go hide in a corner where people don't walk by' sunning bathingsuit.

If I had stuck to my goals, it would have been a different story. My co-worker set me straight. She says 'life is short. Buy the bathingsuit!'

DH came home while we were getting pounded last night with snow. I the DW I am shoveled so he could get the car in the drive. When I finished, I turned around and the whole doggone thing was covered in white again. So 10 minutes later when he got home, he had to shovel, too.

Rather than actually bring the shovel in the garage, DH was so frustrated that "he" had to shovel that he left it on the side of the driveway...

So this morning when we need to shovel the additional 5-7 inches that came down overnight -- say it with me -- we first have to FIND the stinkin shovel!!! I know what's good for me... I kept my mouth SHUT and used his boots to kick around in the snowdrifts.

We lost phone and therefore internet and cable last night so I'm finally catching up with all of the posts. Looks like its time to get back to making more FE gifts! Thanks to the new participants. It gives me a reason to go hide from my family and sew!

Snow day for us too! But only our second... Connor was so happy this morning and is outside playing in the snow right now. DH is off too - but his idea of a snow day is catching up on housework - yuck, it's a snow day!!!!

So - I hate to admit it - but our Christmas tree and decorations just came down. I can officially say the holidays are over.

Going to try and sneak away upstairs to work on FE gifts - hopefully the housework warden won't come search for me!!!

I just told hubby...lol...he shook his head and gave me "that look". wait til I tell him he has to make room in HIS suitcase for the goodies!!

And don't worry, I get "that look" from DH all the time!

I said, "be careful shoveling that heavy snow, because you need to save your back to be able to carry one more HEAVY bag filled with FE gifts"
Of course, "that look" followed along with "you girls are CRAZY"


....and to make things worse: as I was almost done selecting designs for magnets by copying and pasting links into my Word document (I only spent about 3 hrs ), THAT word document, not previously saved, went BLANK!!!! I am still learning how to use Mac Book and I was told "you don't need to save on this computer, it does it automatically" , so- whose fault it is that I have to start over and spend a few hours doing it over ?!? : NOOOOOO taxes today! Mickey is still a priority !

Millie has some in her files - they are just ears (some are plain, some I think had flag colors, etc) and you cut them out and they "fit" around the porthole. I'm looking for a pic now of our door from the last cruise.

My husband has done this on manya cruise, therefore, I am trying hard not to do this to him again this cruise.

No FE for me this cruise. Too hard to have the stuff through the first leg of our back-to-back around waiting for this one. I will leave gifts for my kids on our own because we have many FEs!

The best gifts, easy to make for those looking for non-crafty ideas, we received were small bite sized snickers bars that the person then put labels onto that had the name of our cruise "Pirate in the Caribbean" and date on it. Believe it or not, these were awesome to get!

We loved the mickey straws too, but those can be expensive, and you should see them now after being in the dishwasher! No sign of Mickey now!

You can get balloons printed with the logos on it easily or you can make pins pretty easily also.

I did little cardboard blank 2"x2" frames that you could decorate and hang like ornaments that I then put a tiny little logo of our cruise route into. I then had bought pirate finger puppets from Oriental Trading and put a couple of those and a small sharpie pen that clips onto a lanyard, into a snack sized ziplock bag for everyone.

We all did a pirate theme for our gifts.

So, have fun with the ideas and don't stress, we got lots of just plain old candy and snacks and stickers and that was cool enough! My kids were psyched!

One more word of advice for everyone as you begin making all your door signs:

I would highly recommend placing your cabin number as part of your design - personalizing it as much as possible with a no-brainer of where it belongs is going to save you a lot of heartache.

The signs really do walk off, and I am guessing that on this large of a ship, which so many newbie cruisers as are often on the short haul cruises, you will be finding that many cool door signs will be super cool heists for people to bring home.

I always put one sign up that says our name and cabin number into the design - there is no way anyone could assume they could just put this up onto their door and get away with it.

The ears above the cabin numbers really walk away a lot. So be careful as you may not afix it to the door with anything other than magnets.

I love making our door sign every year!
