We are AYF and Cheer as well in Ridgefield, CT! My daughter is on the 10 and under cheer squad. States were in Ridgefield this year and I don't think Waterbury placed in the 10 and under division. I know Ansonia was first at locals and states, they actually placed 2nd at regionals in New Hampshire this past weekend. Our coaches have decided that our girls won't go to nationals until they are in the 12 and under division so it wouldn't have mattered if we placed or not. We placed at locals but not states. Our 12 and unders placed 2nd at regionals so they luckily are headed to Florida!!!
My mom sat with a woman from Waterbury at states, I think her name was Michelle, they really hit it off and spent the whole competition talking!!!!
. Waterbury won the local competition so that meant they won the state or does it just mean they've earned a spot in regionals
???? The coaches introduced the girls as 'state champs' at our last football game. They didn't have to compete at Ridgefield but did anyways--don't get how that works. I'm just a second hand reporter
. The daughter of DS's football head coach is in the 10 and under -- so if I've been mis-informed I'll have to blame him. I would love to see the girls compete one year though -- the things they get those kids to do is amazing. I always end up having to work. Congrats to your 12 and unders!!! We're considered Mid-Conn, what is Ridgefield? Is there a football team?Anyone platinum? When do you get to book excursions, Palo and Remy's? Not sure I'm going to try for Remy's but definitely Palo!!!
Looking forward to our complimentary Palo dinner! Definitely not booking Remy's, though - waaaaaaay too pricey for us. Not booking any excursions, either. Maybe a spa treatment.... What a small world!!! I think the way they do the competitions is weird -- maybe because I'm just a football mom. Ridgefield is part of Candlewood Valley, we placed 3rd at our local competition which earned us a spot at regionals. Anyone who placed 1,2 or 3at their locals earned a spot at regionals. Anyone who places 1st at states automatically earns a spot at regionals as well, no matter if they placed at locals. I think people like to do both to get the experience in front of the judges!!! We have 2 leagues here right now, this year we had 10 and 12 under cheer and then we had a 5th grade football team (my sons team) and 8th grade, next year we should have 79'ers, 4th, 6th and 8th. What grade is your son? So glad football and cheer is over, but definitely feel like I'm lost without them, right??!!!
I totally agree LOL. Football is such an intense season but pretty short. It almost feels like we're going through withdrawls when it's done but I'm also so happy when it's done at the same time. Jake is on the 6th grade team. They've made it to playoffs for the past 2 years --last year the MidConn championship and this year the semi finals.
We'll have to hook Noah and Jake up on the cruise, they are probably pretty similar!
We made it to the semi-finals this year too! Hoping to go all the way next year! We'll have to hook Noah and Jake up on the cruise, they are probably pretty similar!
Well, the Thanksgiving weekend is officially over for us. DD and her DFiance were here Wednesday/Thursday, then went to his hometown. We just dropped DS off at the airport. So, it's back to being empty-nesters again. Gee, the house sure is quiet.![]()

. We hit the parks everyday but Sat., had to get important things done that day and met up with a friend for dinner and DTD shopping.Hi everyone. Sorry I've been MIA, but things got busy in FL and then again when we returned home. Things at the FL house are looking good - DH will be able to finish the new kitchen floor when we go back later this month![]()

Now the cleaning and decorating start at home. We're hosting the extended family dinner on Sun. 12/12 and expecting about 50 people or so. It's potluck and we provide the turkey and trimmings and everyone brings the rest. The 15 foot tree was put up last night and I need to start decorating it. Really want DH to get the outside lights done but we're waiting on our contractor to redo the front porch railings, at least we have a wreath up outside.
Now to get the call into the TA to pay off this cruise and make those bookings at 120 days out. Just plan on booking Palo brunch and DH will try again for the jetski excursion on CC. He's had it booked on 2 previous cruises and they were cancelled both times - maybe 3rd time's a charm.
Wishing you lots of luck and pixie dust that the jet ski excursion isn't cancelled!
We came up with so many ideas! It is going to be hard to settle on something. I tend to go overboard... I will have to reign myself in or my Dad will have a fit when we go to pack the car and it is overflowing with FE gifts!! I am so glad my Mom is excited for the FE - I figured it could go either way. I gave her the job of putting together our fish extender holder. I think we are going to do two tote bags for the two different families. Thank you Deb T. for the suggestion.

Fish Extender update - so my Mom was here for Thanksgiving and I finally got to explain to her what a Fish Extender is and she is sooo excited. We sat and talked crafts and looked at pictures on the internet, etc... for a long time. My mom was thrilled to talk crafts with me.We came up with so many ideas! Meanwhile, we changed our WDW reservation for after the cruise - we have moved from CL at WL to CL at Poly! So darn excited...I haven't stayed at the Polynesian since I was a kid!! Come on Christmas Day - I am so ready to reveal the surprise to Connor and Asia.
Oh...If anyway needs anything printed (T-shirts, mousepads, can koozies, magnets, puzzles, etc...) I just found an awesome company - Pronto Print Shop. They have a website and they are on facebook. I just had them make two t-shirts, two pillowcases and two puzzles for Connor and Asia's "reveal surprise" Christmas present. The prices were really reasonable but the quality of the products and the turn around time was excellent.

I'm really glad to hear that your Mom is so excited about the FE Exchange!
Your Poly plans sound awesome! And, thanks for the head's up on the print shop website! Your family is going to have a very special Christmas this year!

Hey folks. Getting ready to go see Harry Potter this comming weekend. We were'nt really sure if we would be able to go or not, DH has a foot problem, but things seem to be working out. It's going to be wierd not to go to the Disney Welcome center at the airport...the Mears shuttles will be our destination this time. We're staying at the Hard Rock Hotel Fri,Sat and Sunday. I'm excited to check out the Grinchmas area at Suess Landing, and of course the whole Harry Potter experience. I hope it's a very relaxing no pressure long weekend because when we get back it's only two weeks until Christmas!!!!
Hope everyone had a great and safe Thanksgiving.

Have a great trip! Can't wait to hear about Harry Potter. I am suppose to take DS (9) the day we get off the cruise.
We went to see ICE at the Gaylord National Potomac (DC) and they did The Grinch Who Stole Christmas in ice sculptures. It was so amazing. DS got to meet The Grinch after we came out of the 9 degree show. He had his picture taken witht him!
Have fun!!
