April 17, 2011 on the Dream

We did go to Bethany again this weekend! I can't believe we went there two weekends in a row. I'm still wondering who this man is and what he did with my DH! :confused3 :rotfl:
We were a bit concerned about the weather. Left MD Friday around noon and it was windy. When we got to BB it was a little more windy. Sea Colony has two indoor pools - so we just went swimming all afternoon. Had dinner up on the boardwalk - not bad.
Saturday was still on the windy side - we walked to the beach and on the boardwalk - lots of people and the weather was warm when the wind wasn't blowing.
Sunday was a different story - it was a beautiful! No wind, sunny! We played tennis, went in the pool and then to the beach. DS swore he was not going in the ocean so he didn't wear his bathing suit - just shorts and t-shirt. We were on the beach for five minutes and he was in the water! It was really nice sitting on the beach! I didn't want to leave. We ended up leaving BB around 6pm. DS told us Saturday afternoon that he loved BB and we should buy a condo there! We are just happy to have great friends who own a condo there and loan it to us!
Sad to say it is back to reality this weekend - no beach! :sad2::sad2:
Thanks for asking! :)

It was a beautiful day yesterday in Maryland, we had over 20,000 at the Maryland Renaissance Festival both days last weekend. One more weekend to go and then I can rest. Working at the festival is fun but after 9 weeks working every weekend I will be ready for a break. :cool1:

Sounds like your son is ready to move to DE then. :rotfl2:
Too funny that you don't know who has replaced your DH.
Sounds like another great weekend. :thumbsup2

I bought TGMIke once... and he is very predictable, the usual stuff, go to the park that had EMH the night before, don't go to the park with EMH. The only thing i benefited was I got in a photopass share after disboards disallowed them.

We actually got chosen to Pilot the Kim Possible. My one daughter was only 6 though and got bored very quickly with it. I can imagine it is time consuming, we did it about 20 min and only got thru a few countries. One thing, if you start it and dont' like it, you can quit in the middle.

So itching to go to WDW. Already planning on November 2011 if anyone wants to join me. Going to rent DVC points, so will need to get on that here shortly as they start booking 11 months out. I still have hotel reservations for Jan at Pop Century, but airfare isn't coming down, so will likely cancel that weekend trip. :confused3

Got the envelope with dinner/show assignments....8:30 dinner, 7:00 show..just like the rest of you. Too funny.
We'll be at US/IoA on April 14/15, then over to Cocoa Beach for the 15/16 nights. Then only two days at WDW when we get off the Dream...staying at AKL in a studio. Having the worst time trying to fit in all we want to do in those two days. THen off to Tampa for Sat and Sat night to visit with my ds and his wife, then back to Sanford to fly home on Easter Sunday.
Too bad the cruise is in the middle of all that rushing around....should have made it the end of the trip!!!
But looking forward to exploring the new ship and meeting some new friends.

We also received the envelope this weekend. We have first dinner seating, so the show is at 5pm (if I'm remembering correctly). Now we are impatiently waiting on airfare.........Reservations for the night before and a few nights after the cruise are set. I feel lost without a lot of planning to do!

If you do not want the 5:00 show and would prefer the 9:00 show just call DCL or your TA to see if they can change your show time.

We did the Kim Possible in January with my 3 kids: (dd5, ds9, 1ds3). My DS9 absolutely loved it! My DD5 and DS13 found it a little boring. We did one assignment during the day which took us around Norway, it was lots of fun. Then we did another after dark that took us around China which he loved! The instructions are easy to follow and you can keep the Kimmunicator for as many adventures as you can fit in before the park closes. I hope this helps!

Thanks Jeni! It did help and I think we'll give it a try. What can it hurt?

Wow, what a flurry of Disney posters we all are. Days go by with nary a word and then.... POW 2 full pages I have to catch up! :surfweb:

Thanks to everyone :dance3: for the information and helpful feedback on the Kim Possible thingamajigie :) and the TourGuideMike help. I did order through him (less than $20 with coupon) and I agreed with everyone, - he has a lot of really great tools, great ways to keep everything organized and in one place, good tours with the zag/zig theory, etc. and as Scootch said, he still offers much of the common sense stuff. However, I love the program and can't wait to look around more closely. There definitely is a lot going on in that site! :scared1:

OK, one more question to throw out to everyone:

I have read that DCL has their own shampoo, soap, etc. in the showers. Is it just ok, good or great?

I'm picky when it comes to that stuff, especially the shampoo since I have less than perfect hair!

DCL does have their own stuff, it's the H20 Spa line. I find it too harsh on my thick, dry hair to use and bring my own stuff. YMMV

We all love the H2O spa line of products onboard. But I do bring my own color conditioner because of being in the sun so much.

I feel lost without a lot of planning to do!

Would you like to plan for me ? ;) I could use some help :worship:
I am so overwhelmed with info on US/IOA! I booked at Portofino, but I am not sure its the best US hotel option for us :confused3, and I get distracted a lot when I start reading US boards :scared1:
:grouphug:

Its OK for the rest of my family, but I am picky and I bring my own :upsidedow. In other words - if you are picky too = bring your own as well.:)

Is anyone going to be booking for 2012 this week?
I looked at the dates/itineraries and we've decided to hold off until the rest of 2012 come out and we can book for later in the year.

I really hoped they would move either Wonder or Magic to NY/NJ ports :sad2:
I am disappointed with their 2012 itineraries in USA - same stops, same places.... I think, at one point, three ships would be doing similar itineraries with different length cruises.:sad2: I was hoping they would start going to different islands, Bermuda, perhaps....:rolleyes1 We have reservations for 2012 with Celebrity (their new ship will sail from NJ port during spring break 2012) and we were willing to switch to DCL bs we LOVE DCL, but we also want to explore new places.....:guilty:

I'm actually waiting to see what if any special itineraries they're sailing in the summer of 2012. I'm hoping for either Eastern Med or Baltic. If none of those come to fruition, maybe a Southern Caribbean holiday cruise will happen. Our Med this summer really was AWESOME, so Eastern Med is really what we want but would go on Baltic and tie it in with the Olympics in London.

The H2O stuff that DCL uses has a scent that I don't care for, so I always bring my own. :) It's a different scent than what WDW resorts uses. I don't even know how to describe it. Like Alenushka said, if you're picky, you might want to bring your own.

I'm really hoping the Magic will do a few sailings out of NYC, it would be really nice to just drive up to Metropark and take NJT into the city. DD & I did that one year for a Carnival cruise and it was really nice.

:thumbsup2 So true! But I checked out their site yesterday, it does not look like they will be sailing out of NY/NJ at least next 2 years :sad2: We are 25 min driving distance to NYC ports. That's why we booked Celebrity cruise out of NJ for 2012 spring break.

If they haven't released summer 2012, maybe they could do soemthing out of NYC. I don't think many 3 and 4 nights go out of the NYC area in April due to the cold....

PS, thanks everyone for the shampoo info. Guess I'm toting my own!
