April 17, 2011 on the Dream

That's got my focus also!

I've already told the DS's that the computer is off limits Tuesday morning and have downloaded DING onto my cell phone just in case.

Picture me poised at the computer drinking caffeine just like this guy.>:surfweb:

I really hope the prices on gonna be good!

Anyone from MA fly out of Hartford? Is it as easy with parking an stuff as Providence?

I'm just wondering if schools in Connecticut have that week off also. Did we cover that already?

Hey Sue,

Yeah CT has the week off too! :) Some of our fellow cruisers are from CT. :yay:

Yikes, airtran opened up and flights are $103 down and $338!!!!! Back! Wow, that is really high! In November I get roundtrip for 180-210. I guess I was clueless about spring airfare.

So many of us are waiting for SWA to open the next window that I imagine we might crash their site! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We just might!!! I took Tuesday off from work so I could stay home to book our flights -- I originally had 10/5 off and I switched it when SW switched their dates. Once the flights are booked, I'll feel much better.

Wow! Maybe you can be our travel agent on Tuesday! :rotfl: I've got to be at work by 6:50am... and unfortunately can't take that day off. :sad2: I'll be antsy all morning until I can finally snag our flights. :scared:

From 12:01 AM Tuesday until ?? , whenever I get tickets secured is going to be very stressful. :scared1:  :surfweb:

Getting nervous about what price for roundtrip will be after seeing PP listing of Airtran pricing. :upsidedow

Aww I wish I could Deb :). Watch them go and change to another date last minute .

OK, ok - what's the deal with Southwest? Why do I need to be at my computer at 12:01? :surfweb:

Do we already know the pricing will be that much lower? The reason I ask is that I'm having most of my tickets paid through points from our credit card so do I need to be calling the travel agent/credit card company as soon as Southwest opens so they can book my flights? (especially because they only pay up to $400RT)

OY - I'm sooo confused!! :confused3

In August, they opened up at 5 AM! What time do you leave for work?

Found this on airtran's site this morning

two great airlines join forces
Two great airlines renowned for bringing low fares and fun back to travel are joining forces. For more than 40 years Southwest Airlines has been synonymous with great value and excellent service, while AirTran Airways has been bringing high-quality, low-cost service to cities around the nation and beyond for the past 17 years.

Now Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways are creating new opportunities for our Crew Members, shareholders, customers and the communities we serve.

For more information, visit www.lowfaresfarther.com.

darn, out of pittsburgh, airtran and southwest are the only two direct MCO flights. No more competition!

With airfare around Easter, there is no waiting for better fares. The cheapest fares will most likely be the first ones and as they sell out of seats the prices will go up.

Since you can rebook if a lower price comes out for free with Southwest (and with Easter that will probably be unlikely), the best philosophy in this instance is to be the first to buy when the fares come out.

Deb T.- nab someone at work with an iphone and tell them to download the Southwest application for you (it's free). You can book on their phone! (Just trying to give you more options here)

Geez, what a time for Southwest to buy Airtran! Makes things a little more confusing, but I'm still hoping PVD is decent.

Ho hum.... looks like I am officially leaving you. I was able to find Airtran for $64 one way on a Saturday heading down to MCO. Even with taxes and assigned seats, still only $80 a person. The April 10 board is really slow though, so I might stick around a bit if you don't mind. I emailed my travel agent so not sure when my room will pop back up. Midnight?? :confused3 I had an 11B, midship.

Can't wait to see what everyone snags on southwest. I am still waiting on them for my return flight as I would like to return a bit earlier than the current airtran flight listed.

Scootch!::sad::sad::sad:

There is a thread on the main Disney Cruise forum that could cheer us up. :) A diser visited Meyer Werft Shipyard and took all sorts of pictures of the Dream! :thumbsup2

I'll be on tomorrow morning around 5am waiting with multiple tabs open :surfweb:. I've got to order tickets for 7 people. :scared1:

I for one am not holding out much hope that fares will be anywhere near reasonable. My guess is that fares will starting rising almost immediately after they open. Seats will be sold quickly and fares will adjust accordingly.

Quick question...How many of you are flying down that day (Sunday)? Anyone going down Friday or Saturday? Sooner?

I always fly the day before. Would hate to miss the ship due to a flight issue.

Great Pic Sue.... yes cheered me up.

Thanks for posting the new photo. :lovestruc

We don't have Southwest at our local airport. So, good luck to everyone trying tomorrow! We have airports one hour north and south of us. Anything else requires a 2-3 hour drive. I saw a very reasonable fare from Charlotte this weekend, but that's 2.5 hours away.

We are arriving on Saturday before the sailing on Sunday. Drive or fly, we will be in FL mid-morning that day. ;) Still keeping fingers crossed for decent rates soon from the few choices that we have. If not we will drive. I don't want to, but nothing is keeping me from the Dream and the Mouse. Nothing.

OK Guys, I promise we can get back to the all important DISNEY CRUISE CHAT in a moment :offtopic: but I just have to thank Jill for her information. :worship:

Thanks Jill! ::thanks:We live an hour from the City so it's too easy not to pass up. Not to mention that's it pretty inexpensive. If we had other options within the same price point/location, we'd jump on it, but unfortunatley this was slim pickings.

I think my mom and sister and I will be happy to get away without the rest of the family for a little bonding and I'm glad it's only 4 nights (because by then I'll be tired of the bonding and the only bonding I'll still want to do will be to bond them together with duct tape, shove them in the closet and get the heck outta there!)

You are welcome.
We are in DE so just a short drive up the NJ Turnpike to Metropark and then a ride on NJ Transit into Penn Station. So much easier with no flights or 14-15 hour drive involved.

Just go with an open mind and know you don't have to cook or clean for 4 days. :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :rotfl2:

I'm on pins and needles!! We are flying in on Saturday. I will begin checking at 5:30 once I wake my daughter up for school. I only have two to buy tickets for, but the thought of spending over $600 makes my head hurt!:headache: I'm a bundle of nerves.:sad2:

We're flying down on Friday -- late Thursday if we have to. DH and I are off and DS is missing school on Friday.
