April 17, 2011 on the Dream

5:21 here! (Another yawn)

Looks like they may stick to the usual 11 AM release. Bummer! I'm gonna miss so much work.

I'm buying for the Wednesday night before, and then when it opens up the Monday after. I'll look at Sunday but it will probably be awful. Yuck!

SW had alot on it's plate yesterday with buying Airtran an' all.

Good morning, Sue! I'm bummed to find SWA not opened up yet because I won't be able to get onto a computer at 11am. In fact, if I can't get this booked by 6am, then I'll have to wait until around 3pm this afternoon. :sad1:

5:44 am and nothing :sad2:

Good morning Deb and Sue (yawn). I'm glad I'm not the only nut up at the crack of dawn :lmao:.

Well, SWA's Ding fares are up for today. Now, if someone over there would just hit that "new booking window" button........................

6:17 No dice yet.

Yeah, if we were the only nuts up this early nabbing this airfare would be easy, however anyone who's going to Florida in April is online with us at this point.

I keep refreshing and rebooting waiting for that DING.

My thoughts, exactly. Plus, all those people got more sleep than we did! :headache:

Whew! That was awful!

I got $118 base pp. on Thursday 6AM talk about yawning, wednesday was pretty bad surprisingly. At least its nonstop. I thought it would be worse actually. But the 25th coming back was awful so I guess we're taking another day of school off and coming back the 26th when that opens up or driving back or pricelining back.

6 AM ugh! Why did I pick that time? I was flustered. I guess I'll just nap in the afternoon before and then put the kids in the car at 11 PM and drive to Providence. Get to the gate by 3 or 4 and snooze. The kids can sleep in the car. :)

...oh yeah, what happened to the DING>??? It never dinged!

Southwest was still very expensive and no direct flights out of LGA. About $600.

I'll find something else.....

Good luck all!

I booked mine when I got up at 6:45 this morning... Not happy about what I got, but at least I got something. We has two free tickets, so that limited me to our flights. We're flying down on Sat night and home on Sunday Morning. Wanted to stay later on Sunday, but no dice. Flights were 260 RT for the two I paid for.

Ugh -- not very good but flights are booked. We had 2 RR awards though and go figure 4/14 -4/16 no award flights are available. So, I have a reservation on hold for 2 one way fares on a Freedom award and have paid for the return ($84 :thumbsup2) and one departure ($229 :headache:). The woman I spoke with was very nice and did not convert my awards to the freedom award--she said sometimes the standard awards open later in the day. I'd be able to get all of our outbound flights covered and one return. She said I'd get 100% refund of what I've paid if this happens. I'll check back later to see -- I'm not very hopeful but at least it's all set one way or the other. Why am I travelling on a holiday week again?

Woo! Hoo!:banana::banana: Just snaged airfare on Southwest! $398 roundtrip for both my dd and me!!!! And they are both non-stop flights. Getting excited. :woohoo::woohoo:

Got my flights on SW. Not great but I'm happy it done. :cool1: We're going down Thursday morning 4/14 and returning Thursday 4/21.

Here's my question for you experienced cruisers - what do we do all day on 4/21? Our flight leaves out of MCO at 5PM. Saved $600 for the six of us to take the later flight. Now I'm concerned that we'll go nuts for all that time. We were not planning on renting a car so we are stuck with a limo service or the Disney bus. Any ideas?

TIA

I'd rent a car. It will be cheaper than either the limo or DCL bus and you get the freedom to do something during the day. I'd head to DTD or the Space Center for the day.

If you aren't renting a car you are stuck at the airport either just sitting around or renting a day room at the Hyatt. I suggest you book a car and hit either Cocoa Beach or DTD. The car rental shouldn't be that much and should be cheaper than DCL transfers or private transfers and it gives you the freedom to do something other than being in the airport for an extra 5 or 6 hours.

I am balking at my flights ending up $260 pp round trip... guess I should just grab it and forget about it. I am spoiled with the November $180-210 round trip. Our flight doesn't leave till 340pm... so I am thinking rent a car and spend a few hours at either DTD or the Space Center. I hear you can get free tickets to the space center by contacting congressmen/senators??? I may try that route and that way if we are only there for a few hours, at least it did not cost me anything extra.

I'm with you! Even though I paid 530 for 4 tickets, I had to use 2 RR tickets. So I paid 260 RT for the kids and we don't even have all non stops! Our flight home stops in Raleigh before arriving in PHL. I was hoping that they would have Newark available for booking but they didn't. So hopefully when they open that up, there will be better flight times and prices.

The best I could get was $122pp going and returning. Going with the lower rates changed my arrival day plans. We won't arrive now until Saturday evening- so no day in Downtown Disney as I desired. (An earlier arrival would have added another $130!! It's already costly as it is!)

Providence to Orlando $475pp RT but great times and non stops! Paid more thanI usually do I'm happy with the flight times.:thumbsup2

We leave Orlando at 4:10pm. Guess we'll have to find something to do that day as well
