How can you tell on the DCL website that the early seating is available? Please let me know. Thanks!

You go to Reservations and walk through the steps just like you are going to book the cruise. It gives you lots of options - first you select what cabin category you want, then a screen comes up and you can choose your dinner seating. When I have been on there in the past few months it has only listed the late seating. I just happened to notice yesterday that the early seating was also available. There are also a lot more categories open than there were in January, so I am guessing people have cancelled or nor paid their balances. I don't know how reliable the information is, but if anyone has been hoping to get the early seating, it can't hurt to call DCL and try. Good luck!

I went through all the steps this morning and early seating wasn't available. :sad2: It was listed, but after I clicked on it it said early seating wasn't available. We've been wait listed for early seating since we booked back in May but still haven't gotten it. Its hard to believe that it was fully booked up that early, but then some people book nearly two years in advanced. We would have booked a lot earlier too, but had to wait to find out when spring break was going to fall on our school calendar.....and of course they didn't decide that until the end of the school year last year.

Bummer! Sorry about that. I was pretty sure the Early Seating option had not even come up before. Not sure what that is all about. :confused3 I wouldn't give up, though. If you booked directly with DCL, try giving them a call anyway. It can't hurt. If they don't have it available, ask if there is a waiting list you can put your name on now, rather than waiting to board. Again, nothing ventured, nothing gained. It also seems like a lot of people on this board have been able to make changes once they board the ship. Good luck! :goodvibes

I had us put on the wait list when I booked and have called several times.....no luck yet. I'm not giving up though.

I wouldn't worry about he late seating...you can change it when you board on the first day. We had assigned late seating last cruise and my hubby went to guest service/dining room and they changed us...no problem. We even had a table to ourselves (4 of us). They really try to do anything they can to make you happy! our servers even rememered my little guy (2yr at the time) liked Mango and they made sure he had a little bowl at every dinner! we never even asked them to bring Mangos out. :-) Great, Great service!! :cloud9:

Okay, so far we have 12 people (PrincessDaisy, TylerandAlliesMom and me, plus our families) for the meet. Where is everyone else??? :confused3

Looks like we'll get together Sunday before tea. I am new to this, so I am open to suggestions as to where. Near the pools?

Hi, I am a single Father cruising with my teen son, which translates into lots of free time since he lives at the teen center. I am looking for new home since the ESPN lounge has closed. Any drink(wine/beer/etc) events planned?

:drinking:

I am sure you will find other adults to partake in a beverage or two with you! We are getting people from this board together on Sunday to meet and greet. Keep checking back here for more details. There seem to be a lot of New Englanders on this cruise, too. I know DH will want someone to hang out with while I am at the spa!!!!

While it would be great to meet all my DIS friends. Tea really isnt for me. But if anyone owuld like to head to Diversions for a cold one I would be game.

Maybe we could all mee toutside Palo's prior to tea on Sunday and then head in whichever direction we choose.

Okay, I see I am not very good at this social event organizing thing. Here is what I envisioned. A few people have plans to go to Palos for tea at 3 on Sunday. I am probably not going to do tea, and for sure DH will not be participating! I was thinking we would get together (somewhere sunny with drinks with umbrellas) sometime after lunch but before tea on Sunday - 2ish??? Everyone could meet for a little while and then, head off to tea, Diversons, spa, etc. I also planned on trying to get my kids there, but don't know if they will be preoccupied in the Oceaneers Lab.

Hope that helps!

Wow, I just skimmed the thread...how many DISers on this cruise are from MA? It seems like there's a bunch from MA or New England. It must be because of the kids vacation weeks, eh?

Ah, man, I am starting to feel left out :rolleyes1 My family is the only Californians here on the Dis meet thread :confused3

:) :rotfl:

CTFamily Cruisers: I think that is a great idea about meeting at 2:00ish...I will try to get my family there but it will be hard to coax dd :fish: :fish: out of the pool!

Princessdaisy, don't feel bad. We are all jealous as we sit here in our freezing temperatures following yet another snowstorm. We all truly wish we were in California - except for all that rain you guys have been having! It is all over the news here. I hope it isn't too bad near where you are.

I've been thinking... is there somewhere near the kids pool or family pool that we can try to meet on Sunday? I was thinking the same as you - my kids will be whining... besides the kids could all play together in the pool and we can hang out close by. I will check my deckplans for a more precise location but if anyone has any suggestions, let me know!

I would like to meet the rest of the gang at the Meet but after that..(not a tea kinda guy :rolleyes1 ) you can count me in for a few also. I did the beer tasting on the last cruise and it was pretty good. See you onboard.
