I highly recommend the early seating with young kids

I have found that kids usually get very sleepy during late dinners after a full day of running around under the sun, and that the coordination of going to dinner, then seeing the nightly shows, then off to bed works well.

Going to the shows, sometimes dressed up, then to dinner, then to bed seems a little backwards.

Traditionally speaking, young kids always seem to do the early seating. and teenagers and families without kids tend to gravitate to the later seating.

Give Disney a call and see if there are any early seating still available. They tend to get full very quickly.

Mary,

yes the changes do sound very interesting.

the screen topside should be very interesting

should be loads of fun during the sail away party and the pirate party night.

We did a pirate excursion last christmas in st. lucia - it was the actual boat used by johnney depp in pirates of the caribbean - it was fun - lots of sword fighting between the kids and a treasure hunt on a nearby island

I was online earlier today and saw an excursion at St. Martin for a pirate ship trip. It sounded pretty neat. pirate:

Have a disney day-
Mary princess:

pirate: Mary, did you find it on the Disney site or somewhere else? Noah did the pirate cruise at WDW from the Grand Floridian dock... he LOVED it and it was a pontoon boat... so I can't imagine how excited he'd be on a real Pirate Ship! AAARRRGGGHHH! pirate:

Not sure which St Maarten Pirate ship you are referring to, but if it is the Jolly Roger ones I would recommend against it.

From what I have heard, these are the "all the run punch you can drink" excursions, and most of the adults get smashed

Would not advise for kids - maybe this is why Disney does not endorse a Pirate cruise within St Maarten

Just wanted to throw that out

DJS- To give you our names I am Marc, my DS15 is Kevin.

Does anyone know how to find out when the date that Southeast is going to release the airfare for April? I used to check it daily last year and got shut out of the good fares because I had a meeting the morning they released and didn't get in. Help!

Hey Marc

thanks

they don't usually tell you in advance - but give them a call

I know with Jet Blue - I was checking every few hours until they went on sale

My prices are awful for April, I am paying a fortune for the air

Northwest is about $750 for both of us right now... Spirit is $1400 + and Airtran has horrible times, but just slightly below Northwest...

I've never paid more than $500 to go to Orlando... but I guess the airlines get us too because of the holiday? :confused3

Probably going to book NW within the next couple of weeks... I keep watching it go up and down... up and down.... :Pinkbounc

David is $750 high for what you paid?

I'm paying $2000 for the 4 of us on JetBlue.

Most i have ever paid.

Hopefully the price will come down over the months, to get some of it back as a credits from JetBlue

Traveling during spring break is definitely expensive

I spoke with Southwest the other day and for now they are only up to Jan. 9. The agent stated that it will be at least the October before releasing the dates. Southwest is really the only airline that has a direct flight into Orlando. In KC we don't have Song or JetBlue, so we are slightly limited. The other airlines are $$$$ right now, so we will see what Southwest has to offer. My friend just did an auction online called Skyauction and went to Hawaii and got a great fare for only $300 round trip so maybe I will check into that also.

David and Kimmie the pirate ship I am referring to is Lord Sheffield Pirate Adventure. You leave at 11:30 or so and return at 3:30. You get lunch and swimming and of course pirate acts. The cost is $60/pp with kids being around $42. The website is stmaarten-shoretrips.com/lordsheffield/piratecruise That is where I found it. It also had critic reviews to read also. It sounds pretty awesome. If it is something we want to do we may want to reserve it now due to the Easter holiday and other cruise ship excursions.

I think I've done it this time.... :rotfl2: I waited too long to sign Noah up for soccer... so I found a pee wee football league... that starts on Sunday. Then, I got a call at 1:00 today that they had room after all on the Soccer league and that starts tomorrow!!

For the next 10 weekends... he has something on EACH day... which means so do I!!! Yikes... what was I thinking? I'm so afraid he'll get confused and tackle a soccer player or try to dribble the football.... :rotfl:

Please don't let me become one of "those" Mom's... If you hear me talking about buying a mini van.... come to Michigan and slap me! :teeth:

Kimmie-
We won't slap you we. It just happens that is all. I hope Noah has a great time with both sports. Ryan really hasn't gotten into sports yet (I probably won't be holding my breath much longer though). Just think it won't be long before you will be getting a minivan though. :teeth:

Have a great rest of the day/night.

I am the coach of Jordan's soccer team, so I know how it feels every Sunday morning ....

HE LOVED SOCCER!!! It was so much fun... and somewhat hilarious watching them "try" to play... I am so glad that he was able to get a spot in the league. :Pinkbounc

we can practice together on the ship

How fun would that be? Do you have to bring your own soccer ball or do they have them on the ship? I vaguely remember during my Carnival cruise last spring that there was a deck that had basketball, floor hockey, etc.. for the kids and adults... never ventured up there though.... :rotfl: Was way too comfy in my lounge chair people watching!

they have various sporting goods for use on the basketball court / soccer area

no need to bring anything

Have any of you or know someone who has stayed at All-Star Movies? We are thinking of staying there prior to the cruise and a couple days after the cruise. We have only stayed at the delux hotels before so I don't know what the value resorts are like. I checked out the DIS boards on both the All star movie and POP century but I just kind of got vaugh answers on both. Just curious.
