I can't wait to experience the food... the view... the food... :rotfl2: OH, and the company of course! :grouphug:

DD can't wait to experience Palo She will be old enough this cruise - chocolate souffle' here I come!!!!

I worked in L&D for 3 years and then transferred into the newborn nursery, where I have been for 3+ years. I love it there! :cloud9: I can't imagine working anywhere eles in the hospital. It is so cool that you have been an OB nurse for so many years. I guess once you get in to this field it is hard to get out. I did ER nursing for 3 years prior to going to L&D and that was fun for a while but I started to get burned out when the ER became everyones primary doctor. I am sure you understand.

I am so excited to meet you on our cruise. We have a white off board in the kitchen with the countdown on it. The days are counting down fast, soon it will be the holiday season coming up. :Pinkbounc

Mary- I honestly can't remember if I asked before (or if you mentioned)- are you an OB nurse? I guess with the reference to a baby boom I thought perhaps. I have worked OB for 19 years. We also have been experiencing the pre-holiday rush.
I have to agree with the germ thing with snorkle gear, we always bring our own. I know they soak them in something but I guess I don't think that is enough.

Vicki, any chance you are at St. Joes in Ypsi? I delivered my son there... wouldn't it be a hoot if you'd been involved? :rotfl2: I lived in Farmington Hills at the time and when I was choosing my GYN... I never dreamed I'd be able to have a baby (was told for 15 years that I couldn't)... so by the time I thought to ask the question... I loved my OB and didn't want to switch... It was a LONG ride while in labor! Worth every ounce of pain to now have my DS after I thought all hope was lost! :cloud9:

I can't stand it when we are on the second page!!!!

Our family -- me, my husband Steve and daughter Madison (10) will be on the cruise.

We just got off the Magic on 8/20 out here in Los Angeles and were so impressed with the ship and its crew that we had to book another cruise. We are even willing to fly all of the way to Florida! (Although we'd love to have our own Disney ship out here on the West Coast to do the Mexican Riviera and Alaska -- dreams so come true don't they???) :earsgirl:

This board was wonderful in helping us prepare for our trip. We even came prepared with pirate gear, door signs and glow in the dark necklaces -- we looked like seasoned Disney Cruisers.

Look forward to keeping in touch with everyone on the board while we wait for 4/15!

I'm so happy you are joining us... it's going to be an awesome cruise!! :Pinkbounc  :bounce: :wave2:

Sherri,Steve, and Madison welcome to our little corner of the DIS pages!! If you have any great ideas, thoughts or comment please share them with us.

My husband David and son Ryan (6yrs) are looking forward to meeting everyone we have been talking to. Hopefully once on the cruise we can join up somewhere and meet everyone.

Again Welcome!! :goodvibes

Mary-

We had cruised on several other cruise lines before going on the Disney Magic, and I can say that all of the reading I did on this board helped make our cruise so "magical." Knowing ahead of time about Mickey Ice Cream Bars, Pirate Night, Door Signs, pillow cases to be signed, the must-see-shows, glow-in-the-dark jewelry, etc all added to our experience. We truly enjoyed every moment. And the crew onboard the Magic is like none we have ever experienced.

Thanks for welcoming me to the boards. My mom & sister and I are going on the Sapphire Princess in October, and although I am very excited about the trip, I know any other ship is going to have a hard time beating the top notch experience we had aboard the Magic (although the Sapphire and Diamond are fantastic ships).

Sherri,

David and his family are cruising with us too... (They are currently visiting Mickey Mouse right now) but his daughter will be 9.5 at the time of the cruise... a nice buddy for Madison!! :earsgirl: :cheer2:

I went to the "pay it foward" thread... and had someone send Noah a post card from Mickey Mouse. He got the mail today and he was soooo excited!!! :Pinkbounc

I hope to do it every few months until we leave and then.... buy lots of cards to pay it forward to others!! :goodvibes

Hope you all have an awesome Labor Day Weekend! :wave2:

Can't stand it when we are on page 2!!!! :rotfl2:

We are to close to page two so here goes....

Can you tell I have NO life? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Actually had a date tonight but sitter cancelled... AAARRRGGGHHHH pirate:

Great suggestion that I picked up from another thread... order a pot of coffee last thing before you go to bed... it stays hot throughout the night and viola... nothing like a hot cup of java when you roll out of bed...

Noah asks at least one question a day about our trip... any ideas how to do a count down with him that doesn't seem like FOREVER from now? :confused3

With that said... hope everyone has had a great Labor Day! I'm off to lurk and become highly educated about something... or other... :cool1:

Hi all!

Just back from WDW ! Had a great time with Mickey and AKL was great

Welcome to all the new posters on our cruise thread !

I figured now would be the perfect time for me to start a summary of what kids are going, then we can have the kids email each other when we get closer.

By keeping this list, after the turn of the year, we can put in our requests with DCL on who should sit with whom for meals instead of rolling the dice to see who you eat with .... On each cruise , we have eaten with fellow DISers and had great times.

I will copy this list forward every week or so to the latest page, and please let me know if any corrections are needed.

Unless I am told differently, this should be the age of the kids when we travel, and I will assume early seating

lets begin:

Hannah and Jordan, DD 9.5 and DS 6 of DJS113 - David
Vanessa, DD 18 of CruisinGoose - Vicki
Noah, DS 6 of Kimmielee - Kimmie
Ryan, DS 6 of MaryPoppinsiam - Mary
Kevin, DS 15 of Swede63 - Marc
?? and ??, DD 10, and DS 7.5 of DVCfromNJ, Maria
Madison, DD 10 of UWbadger, Sherri

- David

David, I'm so glad that it was a good time for you and the kids!! Will we be looking forward to a trip report? :cool1:

I watched the weather channel (who didn't?) and was worried that you were getting rained out in the beginning of your trip! :umbrella:

Glad you are back and thanks so much for starting the list. The more I read, the more I research, the harder it is to wait... Is it time to go yet? :hourglass

Hope everyone has a great week! :wizard:

Sherri,

my younger sister is a Badger, she graduated in '94.

David-

So happy to hear everyone had a great time at the old MK!! So it rained a little no big deal it is the state of Florida

Thanks for putting the list together for us. Hopefully by the time we get ready to sail everyone will had a chance to email everyone. We must set up a time once on board to meet. :grouphug:

I keep getting emails from Southwest airlines and right now we can fly out of KC to Orlando for $ 118 round trip and stay at the Swan for $99/night ( I knew being a nurse there might be perks sometimes.) I am trying to get the DH to go for it. We would have to pull Ryan out of school for maybe 2 days but that's not bad. DH thinks we need to save $$$ so we have more for the cruise- so I just need a little pixie dust :wizard: right now.

Anyway have a great day and we will talk soon-

Mary

P.S. Saying :wave2: to all of our fellow cruisers also!!!

we had very little rain

basically each afternoon from 4 - 5:30

that was it

The AKL was awesome, waking up with Giraffes and Zebras right outside your window is pretty cool

WHERE ARE ALL THE NEW PEOPLE ????

- D

David-

Wish I could say I graduated in '94. I'm an 83 UW-Madison graduate.

I was looking at the list of the kids and was wondering if we should be doing early dining. We always do early when we are on the West Coast or up in Alaska and I just assumed that with the time difference we should do late. You've made me rethink that and maybe I should request early so Madison can be involved in more of the activities in the Lab.

-Sherri

David, glad to hear you just got the "normal" Florida rain.

I was online earlier today and saw an excursion at St. Martin for a pirate ship trip. It sounded pretty neat. pirate:

I hear that there are going to be changes on the Magic during drydock. Bigger spa and exercise place, the club/lab is being expanded and they are putting up a huge screen so we can watch movies under the stars.
Sounds pretty neat.

Have a disney day-
