April 12 reservations - post updates here

I do wonder if the tickets are directly linked to the reservations or not. for WDW, the reservation is NOT tied directly to a specific ticket -- you can swap the tickets out in priority usage at MS to designate which ticket to use.

I do wonder if this is the same with DL side as I see the reservation actually calling out the last four ticket -- which is NOT what WDW reservations do.

QR code appears tied to the reservation only as specifically says ticket needs to be presented with the QR code. -- but clearly states associated ticket.
I"m curious about this, too!

Join early and have multiple screens open. My tickets were linked but it wouldn’t let me reserve on the website. I was able to complete it through the app.
Same for me. Had computer, phone, and iPad open but was only successful in the app. My computer was first to enter the reservation system but when I tried entering my ticket info, it said my tickets were linked to another account. So I tried my app and it worked.

Does anyone know if you need to reserve a spot for kids 2 and under? I know they don’t need tickets, but do they need reservation?

I don't think you could even if you wanted to. They would need tickets to have reservations. But good question - I mean they are a person when it comes to capacity right?

Process experience this AM: Thought it was super smooth and explained well in the screens that came up while waiting. Both computer (iMac) and iPhone (app) worked for me to make reservations. And, they both have continued to work the remainder of the day, as I check for updates.

My only glitch has been that my So Cal Resident 3-day park hopper tix aren't giving me availability after 5/13. Spoke with online agent. Technical glitch that has been elevated, advised to keep checking reservation calendars for more dates. ie, work in progress.

If I'm looking at the availability page correctly it seems like all the days are still available? If so then I'm guessing the pool of people that still had unused tickets and were tuned-in enough to know about their early eligibility must have been very small.

I would say this was the case for sure

I got another email from Disney this afternoon reminding me that I was a "current ticket holder" and could now book reservations (I received emails about this last week as well). So they're even sending out reminders! I have already booked my reservations on my existing tickets that I can use but I have one leftover ticket I didn't book reservations for so I guess the reminder was triggered by that ticket.

I don't know what I'm going to do with that left over ticket...It's a child's ticket purchased last year but that kiddo-my youngest-turns 10 in May so I have no idea what I'll do with it now...

So my tickets were only showing up in the app and not the website. When I tried to make reservations it kept telling me to link tickets. Thank God for people here posting to use the app instead. I was able to get in and make them that way without issue.

Curious what others experiences were

I never could see mine on the website, but was redirected to be able to book on the website. It's weird it didn't work that way for everybody.

Glad you got reservations after being kicked out of the system!

I got that same email right after lunch and I used all my tickets, so I think their push email system is just running slow.

They'll let you pay the difference between the child and the adult ticket.

I guess I should say I don't know what I'm going to do with it without having to deal with a ticket booth LOL. I don't think there's a different way to get this ticket converted than a ticket booth is there?

I don't think so. I actually have a 3-9 yr old ticket for a child who turned 10 in the shut down. My plan was to pay the difference (hoping that they'll refund the cost of the MaxPass I paid for) when we got there. But I booked her a reservation on that ticket for now.

If they turned age Disney often lets it slide as a grandfathered event. If a 30 yo tries using a child ticket -- > off with your head to the ticket booth.

Today will be another great example on why Disney needs to outsource their IT system to a better company like Amazon Web Services.
  1. Amazon Web Services doesn’t create websites for you. They only provide the infrastructure (servers, service hosting, etc) to host the sites you still develop. The issue with Disney’s site is rarely one of scale (which might be helped by AWS, if they aren’t already using it) and more one of design and implementation
  2. Outsourcing typically results in a far worse product than insourcing. It is one of the reasons government sites are often universally terrible. Disney just needs to do a better job.

I thought Disney already did outsource their IT and then told the Disney IT people that were going to be laid off had to train their replacements? I just read all of these posts lately where people are having to call a live person to solve issues. That seems crazy in 2021 that a major corporation would have such a lousy website. I just think you should be able to fix issues yourself by using a better designed website.

It’s not that they have a lousy website. It’s that there were a lot of unknowns that WE wanted answers to. It ended up being their system worked great today. We just didn’t understand it.

Any suggestions for who to contact at Disney for help? I already contacted guest services and waited 5 hours for basically no help at all. My tickets disappeared from the app a long time ago and Disney CS can’t see them on their end. My husband lost the physical tickets. They are 3 day S CA park hoppers. We used 2 days and have one remaining. I keep getting the emails from Disney Destinations stating that I am a current ticket holder with instructions and reminders on how to reserve tickets. When I mentioned this to CS they told me that the emails were from a travel agency and not from Disney. They also said that tickets never disappear from the app. Both statements aren’t true and it was extremely frustrating. Does anyone know how to get in touch with someone who can see my past visit history and help me? Thank you!

I am in the same situation but my tickets didn't disappear from the app and I was able to make a reservation earlier today. Do you perchance still have the email you received when the tickets were purchased? It should have the subject line: Disneyland Confirmation (#DOLY00000xxxxxxxxxxx) and come from dlr.guest.mail@disneyonline.com. That email should have a link to access your eTickets which should have the barcode and ticket numbers. The link was still active when I tried it for my tickets.
