Welcome Nancy! ONE WEEK TO GO! Although stress levels are off the wall we will make it through.

oatmealdiva- When are you flying in? I assume we both have a full day of flying sice we are both coming from all the way across the U.S! Go for the Cali girls!

Princess Row - We spend all day Friday traveling and arrive in Orlando at 6:00 pm. Hopefully DS will be able to use the pool for a little while after being cooped up in the plane all day - and I'm sure he will be quite happy with room service for dinner (he loves room service!).

I bought a luggage scale today 'cuz I'm freaked out about the weight requirement for the luggage. Got to finish my "homemade lamination" of our paint chip luggage tags. Just about done with the packing, thanks to my unexpected Friday off. After 6+ months of waiting, I can't believe we're almost on board! As Mickey would say, "See you real soon!"

Well, all my important packing is done! Yep, you guessed it my rolling cooler filled with lovely Adult Beverages is packed and ready to go! Now that it's taken care of I guess I can go ahead and pack those other things...like clothes.

Nice to meet you Nancy.

I can't believe we leave in five days!!! I have been planning so LONG. I know everybody is a little stressed with the last minute things to do, but I can't wait for that feeling of relaxation to hit. For me it will be as soon as we get in the car and get a couple miles down the road (I'm sure we will have to come back after driving a block away, we always do, so I give myself a couple of miles.) My DH, on the other hand, probably won't hit relaxation for about 2 days. My guess is Sunday he will start to enjoy it.

I'm proud of those of you that are all packed. I've got almost everything except clothes packed and I've got those laid out. I have enough picked out to wear at least four outfits a day so I am going to try to widdle it down to two or three. (maybe) I got the FE and most of the prizes. I want to get one more thing but I'm having a tough time thinking of something. I found some wine in a cardboard box. As long as it doesn't taste like cardboard I'll be ok with it.

Oatmealdiva- yes we are also flying all day friday. We need to be fully ready to go by Thursday night. Our plane leaves early Friday morning. I believe we get in about the same time and my DD (5,14) will probably want to go and relax in the pool. Then Saturday morning Disney becomes our home for a week! 6 more days!

Well today was a busy day of organizing and packing. Believe it or not I feel totally relaxed!!! I have a few last minute things to get this week, but for the most part we are ready. Friday is a day of pampering for me as I am getting a mani, pedi, and haircut. Then I think I will celebrate all the planning being over with a drink...and then another to to celebrate it being "cruise eve"!!!

I can't believe how close we are...in my DD's world the countdown is....6 more wakeups!!

Grumpymom - So tell me about your rolling cooler. I bought one from Target and it is soft on the outside but hard plastic on the inside. It can hold 30 cans of beer in it. Not sure if it is too big to fit through the security scanner. I have another one that is soft and a little more "weathered", so that is why I bought the new one. I was wondering if the hard plastic might be a no-no. (And, yes, I bought the beer already. Now we need to stop at the liquor store before heading out of town.) Have any of you repeat cruisers brought your cooler? We've brought liquor, but never beer before. There's a first time for everything!!

Happy note....our FE is done and so are all of our magnets!!! Now I can start really packing tomorrow!

I can't believe we only have a few more days of chit-chatting before we are all onboard!! I hope we will all chat again once we get back home!

Our cooler is a small soft-sided rolling cooler. It was actually a gift from DVC a few years ago. It's pretty small. I forget the maximum size that is allowed but I know if was in the info DCL sent us. I'm sure you can find in here on the board too. I don't know if they have a rule against the hard plastic inside. I'm sure if you post on the main board someone can help.
We have beer, rum and whiskey in ours.

Welcome to the group Nancy!

Wow, you guys are so far ahead of me! Would you believe that DH was shopping for clothes yesterday?! So that means lots of laundry for me today - (thanks DH ).....LOL!

I did stay up late last night to iron some of my outfits. Not going to any great lengths tho b/c I will probably pack tonight and they'll be in the bag for 5 days so I'm sure they will need pressing again. I have heard that "press only" isn't too bad on board so I may spring for that if needed as I absolutely hate to iron! I also got a small bottle of Downy wrinkle release. I've never tried it but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Busy day today and I'll be running all day! But we leave on Wednesday so the crunch is really on and I've got to get myself in high gear...DH is starting to relax and get in vacation mode (surprisingly b/c he usually gets a little stressed right before we go somewhere - the "too much to do" syndrome . Of course it is Monday morning and so once he hits the office things could change drastically!)

I am so jealous of the 73 degrees. I know I have mentioned the snow we have had here and there that last week, but we are actually getting a storm tonight...4-8 inches...people are talking about a possible snow day for the schools tomorrow!!! So our CRAZY weather has put me in packing mode...I feel like the faster I pack the sooner we can leave and get to warm weather...Too bad that isn't true!! We do have a lot of packing done though. The excitement is really setting in...can't wait! Who knows...maybe I will get an extra vacation day this week...a snow day in April though...hard to believe!

Question from a first time cruiser: When we are leaving the cruise ship to come home (not that I want that to happen) will our bags be checked thru to our home airport or will we have to get them somewhere to go thru customs?

I'm not surprised you all are getting snow. Here in Central Florida we are suppose to go down into the 30s on Wed. morning!!!!

Don't worry it's suppose to go back up into the 80s by Friday. Crazy!!

Packing is almost done here and we are SO ready to leave! Today is DH's last day at work for 2 weeks I am tutoring tonight but only a couple kids so I can focus most of my day on preps...

Anyhow, does anyone remember off the top of their head the time / place for our DIS meets? We are going to try to meet up with the group for sure at the terminal. I think that was at 11 AM, but where? And is the other one at 3 PM onboard? Don't know if we will make that one, but could somebody confirm the time and place for me? Thanks!

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you in just a few days!

Hi Kimberly,
The meet at the port is 11am by the Magic replica on the side facing the entrance ears. I believe the one on board is in the Promenade Lounge at 3:00 but someone should confirm that. We will be at the meet at the port and possibly the one on board too! We are all packed and ready to leave tomorrow morning at 10am!!! I think my relaxation will kick in as soon as the limo pulls down our driveway! Can't wait to meet all of you!!

I am beginning to be overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I need to do before we leave...but it will all come together as it always does. I know I'll begin to relax once we get on the plane and the vacation has officially begun!

It's gray and gross here in Los Angeles too...can't wait for that Caribbean sunshine!

We will most likely be at both meets. Can't wait to meet all of you!

I'm not sure about the FE but to get on the roll call simply PM me with your names, kid's ages and where you're from. But do it today because I leave in the Am!!!!!
