April 11th 2009 Magic Eastern Easter cruise--UPDATED WITH ROLL CALL PG 1

Wow so much to catch up on.
-We are flying out of Cali on Friday at 9:00 Am i believe we wont get into Orlando till late that night, (all day flight) then we are staying at the Marriot that night.
-wendygator- Welcome to the boards! Those happy faces come in handy! It kind of takes a couple tries to get going on here. Well at least it took me awhile. :sad2:

Hopefully we can fit in a home depot trip sometime this week. If not....well then...uhhh let's just say i will make it. Writing Disnames on it sounds like a great idea!!

Had2disneycruz- ok Prom Lounge works hopefully for us. Thanks for the advice but I remember where it is from our last cruise. Well hopefully i do! :rotfl2:

Welcome Wendy Gator!

We're staying at the Radisson as well and we will try to go to both meets. It would be nice if my DDs could meet some kids early. And I'd like to meet everybody as well.

So will the pools be super crowded if we board early?

Hi All - and WELCOME "wendygator"...:flower3: - It's taken me some time to get all the "DISboard" extras down too (I'm realtively new) - Follow the path below when you log on to the DisBoards - in "Dis Board Basics" - you'll find lots of tips - plus an entire page of what all the abbreviations mean! (good luck)....
(The DIS Discussion Forums - DISboards.com > Disney Cruise Line > Disney Cruise Line Forum
DIS Board Basics) ...

My DS (Davey) is 11 (nearly 12-grade 6) - he'll be very happy to hear that there will be more guys his age hanging in the club or 'round the pool!

Fortunately for us our Home Depot is right next door to our Shop Rite (where I unfortunately spend way too much time :lmao:)... So Alien Green it is - I also have a paper punch of "mickey" ("scrapbooker!") so I might punch a few out so that we can stick them to our lanyards... Kelli: Great Idea to add our DisBoard names to them -

We got a great deal on Aveeno Spray Sunscreen this past weekend at Target and stocked up on 4 spray cans (2 of that one and two of the Coopertone Sport... The sprays are so much easier - but they go fast!)

I'm getting worried about the weight of the bags too! Somehow - this trip we all have way too many shoes... can't figure that one out...

We are almost into our single digit countdown to "Sail Away"... Bring on the Drink of the Day! :cheer2:

We leave Los Angeles in 9 days!!! We're flying in Friday and staying at the Hyatt Regency overnight.

Everything is coming together. Got the paint chips for our bags yesterday. May have to go back and get more as DS thought they were cool. One corner of my bedroom has our suitcases, which are beginning to fill up with stuff. It's warm here so we are still wearing some of the things I want to pack. Gotta keep these bags under 50 pounds, so I will be doing some heavy editing this week.

Could someone please refresh my memory - where is the early meet (11 am) again?

Big Willie - I hope you don't mind...we are borrowing your sailaway outfit idea! I started out ordering a Hawaiian shirt for DS, but ended up ordering a dress for myself and a shirt for my mom to match his shirt. I hope our pictures look as cool as your family's do! Also - love your graphic!

9 days to Orlando / 10 days to Disney Magic :wizard:

Big Willie: Love the Graphic!! .. Oh... and we're with oatmealdiva - we ordered our Hawaiian shirts on line and they came in last week - Can't wait to see that pic - (hoping to go to Hawaii next year, so they'll get lots of use) - I guess "Immitation is the highest form of flattery"!! :dance3:

Just back from Hawaii with new outfits in hand. Wait until you see this years Sail Away Outfits. Good thing my job takes me to Hawaii regularly.

We will try and make the 3pm gathering. Normally we arrive between 12:30 -1:00. Having spent most of my adult life in San Diego and Hawaii (and now living in Hampton Roads) running onboard early for the Goofy Pool is not high on our list. We love eating at Parot Cay and then going to the room for a quick second before the drill.

We have Palo ressies for brunch but I couldn't get the entire party at the same time. Four of us are at 11:30 and 2 of us are at 10:30. I'm sure once onboard I'll be able to move one of the groups. All six of us have High Tea on Easter Sunday. Anyone else have their Palo reservation? We are skipping dinner this time around.

We have green wristbands but they will clash with our outfits. :confused3 What to do?

Don't worry Willie! We will all recognize you! No need for wristbands!

We have our furnace being serviced tomorrow and I have never been so agreeable to their huge time frame window. The woman said that the tech would be here between 11-4 and usually that big a window would piss me off but instead.........tomorrow is............ PACKING DAY!

I am going to take full advantage of being here all day and pack, pack, pack. We leave one week from today!!!
:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Hey Had2dis! speaking of recognizing people, we never did get the pics of you and the pirate outfits PP preciously posted...do you know where they are...trying to finish my pirate "get up" and need to know how far to go! Anyone else dressing for pirate night?

Enjoy your day of uninterrupted packing, Kelli! I almost have Morgan's bag packed...just picked up a couple things I was having altered today and I've started to pair up outfits for myself. DH is on his own! He is too picky for me to even try to pack for him...

We are also leaving a week from today! I can't believe it is finally almost here!!!

The pic is on page 5, post 67. You can't really see my outfit but you can see Kimberly's. Cyndi is kneeling next to me. (PPFQP altered our faces so we look a little funky.) I'd post a pic from that night so you could see my costume, but I have no idea how to do it! But yes, I plan to bring my costume!!!!!!

Willie, I am so jealous. I want a job that takes me to Hawaii frequently. We have Palo reservations for Thursday dinner. Is the brunch better than the dinner? I don't think my DH would be into high tea, although I would enjoy it.

Kelli, that is awesome that you get free time to pack. I've been trying to do a little every night after the kids go to bed to pack and ge FE gifts together. I was sitting on the floor of my room last night with stuff thrown all around me and in walks my DD10. "What's all this mom?" I just told her I was working on a surprise and not to ask or it would ruin the surprise. Darn it, now she is on to me. It's going to be hard the next week to keep everything hidden since she will be looking for it.

Had2, cute pics. Where would I find a boustierre (ms?). I was going to see if I could find some t-shirts. My DH has a big poofy shirt he could wear and when he grows a goatee he really looks like a pirate.

Hi everyone.

Man is it close. :yay: I wanted to give an update on our arrival. We are switching back to getting to the Radisson by early to mid afternoon on Friday instead of Thursday. The DW feels too rushed with her final exam being on Wednesday night plus she is working now everyday until we leave including this weekend.:sad2: We are both off on Thursday and we are going to take the day to make sure we are squared away with packing. Then we are hoping to be on the road by about 4:30 am Friday. :goodvibes I am ready for the drink of the day. :cool1:

I went to Home Depot and got our paint chips...alien green is an interesting color!!!

I can't wait to see everyone in their matching outfirs...maybe I will be able to recognize you since I won't be at the first meet!

This weekend I plan to do some serious packing!!!! I can't believe how close we are!!!

Wow..I guess everyone is packing this weekend too!!! :rotfl2:

I can't believe how close we are getting!!!! ARGH!!!!

I, luckily, have a boss who totally understands that I am in cruise/vacation mode now and I don't have a lot of things to do next week. :cheer2:

Everyone have a GREAT weekend packing!!!!!!

Got our Alien Green paint samples today too! - Nice for a tag - wouldn't want a wall of it! :lmao:

Thank God I, too, have an understanding boss but better yet - HE'S on vacation next week! That kinda gives me a two week vaca break!! Yea Me!!!
:thumbsup2
